Red Wings fans have had enough...
Oct 4, 2026
Red Wings fans have officially had enough. From booing Dylan Larkin out of the building and him
turning his back on the rest of his team immediately to the fan reaction in the building, taping over
jerseys and much more. From the TNT analysts absolutely ripping into the team and them not
even scoring a goal on home ice in their home opener. You have to wonder if things could actually
get worse for the Detroit Red Wings and the answer is yes. It continues to spiral out of control.
We're going to break down exactly how fans are feeling, what fans are saying, how the team is
responding and a brand new update on Simon Edmondson that if you're a diehard Red Wings fan
is going to blow your mind as to how far this team has fallen from the 90s and the early 2000s. We're
going to break down exactly what all of this means for Red Wings fans and so many more updates on this
episode including them skating today because they're back on the ice tomorrow for another game.
But before we get into all of that a quick reminder to hit that subscribe button. We've noticed that
85% of you guys who watch these videos are not subscribed to the channel so if you want to stay
up to date with what's happening daily with the Detroit Red Wings make sure to hit that subscribe
button. Thank you so much for over 5,000 subscribers at this point we really really appreciate it.
But Mark let's get into it. First game two nothing loss to the New York Rangers and they didn't look
dangerous. I actually saw that Dylan Garan of the New York Rangers only had to put up with 1.5
expected goals all game. So quiet night for the Red Wings offense. Of course they're missing guys
due to injury right now and they're missing guys due to incompetence and not signing contracts.
Now the night started with the Red Wings fans booing Dylan Larkin out of the building. I mean
that was a huge huge pop Mark and not in a good way. Absolutely booed out of the building. He
turned around and left right away it looked like some of the staff was trying to get him to go back
out. We learned later and I want to get into some of the quotes we'll get into those later
that it was Dylan Larkin's prerogative to do that like he said I want to do this I don't
want to take the attention away from you know some of the other scratches they should get their
moment and I can respect that but the reaction was overwhelming. We are tired we've had enough
and that's just the sentiment from the fan base. I mean listen I gotta respect him for going out
there because he knew what was going to happen and this entire fan base knew that boo was coming
but the biggest thing is this is a fan base and I want to tip my cap they've made it very clear
during that game that this is a fan base that is not happy with absolutely anything from the former
captain from what is happening with the management or the what's not happening with that management
because they haven't did a damn thing this offseason. Minus bringing in two guys letting
guys not or walk for free and then also having people still not sign this was a fan base that
I'm so proud of for making that so vocal during the game let's sell the team chance five minutes
into the game the booze raining down yes this is a team we still want to cheer for everyone that's
there there are some exciting moments during the games but Darius this was made very clear that no
one is happy with how the team is handled and the outcome of that game just adds even more fuel to
that fire and I had it up there just a couple seconds ago and like you mentioned five minutes
into the game they were down one nothing they had zero shots the rangers had eight shots and
sell the team was the chant echoing through the arena and then you also had fans I had it up on
screen just a little while ago taping over their Larkin jerseys you had leaving you had loser
taped over 71 jerseys there was a couple others that I'm not going to bring up in the video
because they were a little distasteful and I'll just leave it at that but there was a lot of
others out there on social media and I'm sure you guys have seen it as well that fans are voicing
their displeasure they're not happy I mean I don't even have words at this point to describe
them mark to be honest with where you're at how it got to this point almost seemed like the
organization was at times at least to start and then we learned that Dylan Larkin wanted to be
out there almost trying to embarrass Dylan Larkin I don't know this is the other thing I want to
talk about too because we're going to get into some quotes and updates on the team heading into their
I don't know if this guy ever plays for this team again I know they're you know targeting
him coming back on the road to maybe ease things a little bit and that's maybe why they're avoiding
these two games I don't know if he ever plays for this team again you could see it was a
thunderous thunderous pop of booze it was unbelievable and they played music immediately
to try and drown it out but it was thunderous right off the bat and uh there was also a point
where Todd McClellan was getting interviewed on the bench and a fan put their phone to the
glass and on it said we want Simon and then the camera panned away they cut away from it
it's so it's so beyond ridiculous at this point and of course that might have been the national
broadcast I don't know exactly I was watching on the national broadcast so I don't know if that
was something else or in arena that the fans were seeing there but you can see the NHL and TNT crew
was saying that introducing Dylan Larkin was bush league so that's their thoughts on it we then found
out again from Todd McClellan that it was Dylan Larkin's choice and at the end of the day you
have a contract you have to offer you should be good for Dylan Larkin I respect it for him making
that decision because maybe the team thought we would do something else but at the same time you
should be there you're under contract you're part of the team you should be standing out there and
taking that so uh they added that uh our decision to boo will hurt us with free agents in the future
I want to get into this conversation now Mark I don't know if that's true I really don't think
that's true and there were some people on Twitter talking about that earlier uh or last night that
the NHL and TNT crew saying that it was bush league and that it could hurt you know their
chances of acquiring free agents I think that happened a long time ago and I think it's because
players know they talk right players talk and they know that this organization right now is Mickey
Mouse I'll say it it's a Mickey Mouse run organization listen the boos are not the reason
you hit it right on the head there that is because of ownership people aren't going to come here if
they're like hey we're not going to get paid for your value we're going to be looked at as someone
that if you don't take a discount you can fly back to Europe and spend time there because we're not
going to budge this has nothing to do with the fan base Detroit is incredible the fan base wearing
that crest we've seen Todd say is a privilege this is a prestigious team that has a deep running
history of being incredible until we've seen this damn ownership take over and absolutely nothing
happened you see guys walk for nothing we've seen Freeman come out and say that the Stamco's
reports aren't 100% true but again you've seen other stuff about Quinn Hughes not being traded
for because Chris Illich didn't want to pay the guy money to come here we have a damn 22 year old
over in Sweden right now watching games in the SHL because they don't want to pay free agents not
coming here has nothing to do with the crest the fan base the city it falls back onto exactly how
it's being run or not run if you want to look at that way because there's nothing being done and
there's a guy sitting up in that fancy press box eating little caesar's pizza making bank thrown
in this team yeah and you can see that uh McClellan here did say and did confirm that Larkin was the
one that put himself in that position which again he should have but it's not you know oh players
don't want to come to Detroit anymore because fans will boo them or turn on them this this guy
you know the way he went about this I don't think it was uh you know look at what's happening with
look what happened with you know Brady Kachuk I feel like there was a different way maybe to go
about this and um at the end of the day what's happened has happened I could talk about you know
hindsight 2020 oh yeah let's go back to when you requested the trade maybe let's do it a different
way the fact of the matter is my point is Red Wings fans are passionate this is an original
six team and Todd McClellan outlined this yesterday and I love Todd McClellan I think he's a great
coach and I think that he's the only guy that actually speaking with some logic and some sense
at the end of the day the booing is not why people don't want to come here it's because
they know and players talk they're not going to get paid they're not going to get paid and the
same thing's going to happen with Alex Dobrynka in less than a year and you guys will you know a
lot of people are not going to be happy about it we are headed for that territory now uh Dylan
sorry Todd McClellan did say last couple things here Dylan being a part of the team he wanted to
be out there for the ceremony obviously he got to live with the ramifications of asking for a trade
it's not comfortable for anybody I feel bad for him I do and then there was a couple other updates
too from Max that you know or sorry not from Max from the morning skate this morning and apparently
Todd McClellan revealing that Casper is now out with an injury so it just continues to get worse
so now Marco Casper is out with an injury and besides that there was a new report this morning
Mark that outlined that interim general manager Sean Horkoff was caught off guard by Simon
Evanson going to Sweden and I have to say if you start to look between the lines if you start to
look at all the reports and put the puzzle pieces together Chris Illich is running the show Sean
Horkoff is just there as a puppet and he's going to end up being told to trade Simon Evanson that
is how this is going to end up I'm sorry to say it but that's exactly where we're headed and you
can't be surprised anymore by it because it just continues to snowball and get worse the new report
this morning Mark said that he is surprised that Simon Evanson left to go to Sweden because they're
that far apart because the owner wants to give him a bridge deal and does not want to pay him
and the player wants something that honestly compared to the rest of the league in his position
is fair it's unbelievable I don't know if you have any final thoughts on that but I think we're headed
for a situation where he will get traded because at some point the player and the agent over the
next couple weeks couple days are going to be like let's let's get this over and done with I want to
and I feel bad for Sean Horkoff too because that's a guy that stepped into a position that
probably isn't ready for it and on top of that not giving the free reigns to really show himself
what happens if this team falls into a funnel and becomes a terrible team you finish bottom of the
standings you don't get a top pick this is going to look bad on Sean Horkoff they hire a new general
manager no one's going to touch that guy that ruins his career but again it falls back on
again is there a difference between the Little Caesars mascot and Sean Horkoff right now
because it seems like both are just a mascot for one man in particular and of course his
family that owns it but again I just don't know how there's any competence within this group
and when looking at ownership again it falls back on that one person and the reason why that fan
base was chanting sell the team last night yeah and I think it's just continued and I'll say it
to snowball to spiral completely out of control and at this point don't be surprised if Simon
Evanson is traded next week because it's clear they don't want to pay him and he's not going
to budge nor should he he's a good defenseman he's a top ring defenseman and he should be here
and he should be here long term but I just don't think that the general manager who's
currently in charge has any authority to actually make those decisions
