The ways in which agricultural lands are used today will be critical for feeding future generations.
Not only does the overall productivity matter, but also how we incorporate biodiversity and
nature into land use to ensure the sustainability of this land going forward. This is the driver
behind CAPI's policies for land use, agriculture, and nature initiative and is the topic for this
season's Agis Policy Connection podcast. Episodes will span many topics related to land use,
including how to incorporate innovation and technology into land use decisions,
the economics of land use change, urban expansion, and how to balance agricultural land use with the
social, ecological, and cultural value of land. Critical questions explore how we balance farm
land with housing and who decides how land gets used. With so many factors to consider,
these conversations will be key to addressing how policies are designed with land use in mind.
To ensure there are prosperous lands for generations to come,
the decision-making process needs to involve all of us. Learn more on the Plant Hub on CAPI's website.
