In partnership with Angus Reid, Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute recently conducted a national
survey of 549 stakeholders and used the results to develop the Agri-Food Risk Report.
The findings of this survey revealed a predominantly optimistic outlook with 62%
of respondents reporting positive feelings about the sector's future. Despite the optimism,
Canada's agriculture and food sector faces critical risks. As highlighted in the report,
survey respondents identified their top concerns as the policy and regulatory environment,
extreme weather, and trade barriers and protectionism. Most respondents viewed
these risks as immediate and difficult to address, with low confidence in government
or private industry to effectively manage them. The insights within the Agri-Food Risk Report
can serve as a foundation for further dialogue about how these risks and opportunities should
inform the future of agriculture policy. Read the risk report on CAPI's website.
