More Moves Coming - MULTIPLE Nuggets Trade Updates...
Aug 22, 2026
there are moves that are still coming for this team right now but guys before we do dive into all that make sure to go
ahead and subscribe to Nugget's Digest if you are part of that 70% that's not yet currently subscribed
because it is completely free and we are closing in on 4,000 subscribers on that grind right now
but guys jumping into the video
there's a lot to go over as we know the front office is still looking to make moves for this team right now to see
what they want to do going forwards and
who they want to trade now some of these players we've heard trade talks about
specifically someone like a Cam Johnson
we have heard a lot about trade talks on him over the past couple of well months at this point in the offseason
because the Nuggets want to retain Peyton Watson
but salary dumps are kind of hard to do at this point and then also players who we've heard trade talks about for a while
and diving into the first one that was mentioned heavy sports did talk about
dumping Zeke Nagy would get the Nuggets under the second apron and free them up to resolve the Peyton Watson situation
the Hornets are a potential landing spot a couple of things here
Obviously dumping Zeke Nagy would be good for the Nuggets
They free up money it gets them out of the second apron the Peyton Watson situation gets a lot easier
Resigning Peyton Watson gets a lot easier and making subsequent moves also does get easier
Everything gets easier with the moving of Zeke Nagy
There's no doubt about that, but there are a few things I want to say here one. We all know this one. It is
Impossible not impossible, but it's very hard to do and dumping Zeke Nagy means giving away assets giving away second round picks
To a team that would be willing to take him and also I don't think the Hornets are the team to look at right here
At all because the Hornets have 41 big men on their team already
I mean right now they kind of have an influx of big men
They acquired Nas Reed in exchange for lamello ball. They have Musa Diabate who's a talented player
They have Ryan Kochbrenner who was a very nice rookie
And now they drafted Hans Steinbeck. They have a lot of bigs
I do not look at the Hornets as a team here that really should be
Kind of viewed as as a legit landing spot any team that needs a big man any team that needs depth at the 4-5 spot
Then yes
We could look at those teams for Zeke Nagy
100% teams that would be willing to take on his contract because they'd actually give him a role and
Hope that the guy who the Nuggets paid who was blocking a shot and a half per game and was stretching the floor out
Could get back to that player with consistent minutes for the first time since he signed that extension
So that's something to certainly keep an eye out on and I do think there is a world the Nuggets can move him and that
They're gonna still try to move him
They're obviously always gonna be active and trying to move on from Nagy to free up that money
Nagy did not really play a whole lot this last season because of depth and frankly
It doesn't take much to have too much depth for Zeke Nagy if we're being honest right now
I mean Valanchunis got the nod over him. We know Derron Holmes would get the nod over him
He played in 52 games
Playing 12 minutes a night putting up 3.6 points and 2.6 rebounds blocking half a shot per game is definitely impressive in 12 minutes
I'm not gonna sit here and deny that but he's not the same player that he was when he was shooting 37% from deep
He was shooting
25% from deep and that is where the problem lies for the Nuggets right now with Zeke Nagy
So I do think he's definitely tough to move
But there are more guys to look at for instance heavy sports also
Did mention right here Aaron Gordon on the Nuggets is someone to look at as he's got a contract with three years
110 million dollars remaining now as mentioned someone may have to go depending on how the Peyton Watson ordeal finishes
It could be Gordon though his recent injury history makes that tough
Aaron Gordon in general trying to move him is tough because first of all, he's so valuable to this Nuggets team
He's been such an important player for them winning the NBA Finals
He's really been viewed as correctly the third best player on this team
So it's something that does matter when we look at Gordon now his injuries have been unfortunate
He's gotten injured in the last two playoff runs and both times
It's directly been connected to why the Nuggets have not gotten further in the playoffs now
He played 36 games last year and is still Aaron Gordon 16 points a night 6 rebounds 3 assists
39% from 3
49% from the field still a great defender who can guard the 3 the 4 the 5 some shooting guards even
Gordon can go up and guard them. He's a versatile defender. One of the best cutters in basketball shooting 39% from 3
It's tough to beat that someone would take Aaron Gordon. That's not the problem here
There would be a laundry list of teams ready to take that chance on Gordon
But this would have to be for the right price and we would all agree on that that it has to be for the right
Price you don't just toss Aaron Gordon away that would make the Nuggets so much worse
Even if they freed up money for Peyton Watson
It would still make them so much worse that I just can't see them making a move like this
I mean Gordon had a great great year last year. He was super important to the team. I mean
When you shoot like that when you're in the upper percentile of points rebounds assists when you're hitting your middies really well
When you're able to hit from the corner threes and these stats are not fully correct because it's three point percentage is way higher than
this
Hopefully those cops are arresting the whoever created the incorrect stats here the paint
It doesn't really shoot in the paint
He's gonna shoot under the rim and under the rim
85% doing what Aaron Gordon does and he's gonna be somebody who's gonna be there in the ends of games
He's gonna be in the game and he's gonna have a positive impact on the team
That's something we know about Aaron Gordon when he's fully healthy
The man is positive now the clutch minus or the plus-minus stats in the clutch. We're not good this year, but also his
Individual numbers were all across the board good
So I don't really look at the plus-minus as much as I look at the fact that his points and clutch
Situations were high his field goal percentage was high. His three-point percentage was incredible at 50%
All those numbers are good
And that's what matters here for Aaron Gordon and the other guy to talk about is someone who we've heard a lot about and that's
Cam Johnson as
Mentioned right here Cam Johnson. He's got the one-year 23 million dollar contract remaining was a disaster in his loan season in Denver
I wouldn't put it that far because disappointment
And he has been a prominent feature on the NBA trade rumor mill for years now between the Nets and now to the Nuggets
He still has enough of a reputation around the league to warrant trade interest
The Nuggets value the fact that he has an expiring contract and of course the Nuggets do now again. He's not bad
He's not having some terrible terrible time out of your shot 43% from three like there's things to still like the defense isn't there
And he wasn't able to be the 20-point per game scorer. He was with the Nets which was the killer
He was only putting up 12 points per game now given this was obviously on a lot less of a usage rate because he was
On the Nuggets not the Brooklyn Nets, but still 43% from three is still very very good
He's still able to do the one thing that everyone really still will look at Cameron Johnson and know him for that's the one thing
You gotta give him credit for is that he can do that and he could do it
Well, the question is what are the Nuggets want to do with Cameron Johnson?
No team can take the money on anymore, but still he's a good shooter from everywhere on the field
Nowhere where he's having a bad outcome and overall
I do think there's a lot of talk that'll surround Cameron Johnson over the next couple of
Weeks still when it comes to trades, but at this point again, you can't really cut money
No team has money to cut so where you can kind of salary dump them
So it makes it tough and I do think Gordon and Johnson will definitely be back with the team
I actually do think Najee is possible to trade still and it would cost some value
But if that's what it takes to take to trade to acquire Peyton Watson
Effectively instead of losing Peyton Watson in a sign trade
It would almost be like a sign and trade where you're sending Zeke Najee and some seconds out to keep him
Which to me is just worth it if you ask me because Peyton Watson's don't grow on trees
But what do you guys think?
