Lakers fans are LOVING This...
Aug 25, 2026
Laker fans are absolutely loving this and there are so many people around the NBA who did not
think this was possible. As we've been getting updates from the Lakers' recent Slovenia trip,
there has been new images and footage of a different version of Luka Doncic
and he's been getting comparisons to his younger days as a Dallas Maverick.
What's good? I'm Okichi Pakama and this is Lakers Digest coming at you with another
video. I'm going to get through everything we have here for today's video. I just want to
remind you guys to subscribe to the channel if you haven't already to get all of those Laker
updates, especially with training camp just a month away. So the NBA season is just around
the corner, guys. Now, without further ado, let's hop straight into the topic of today's video as
Luka's physique is improving. So, we've been getting a whole slew of pictures,
footages and images from the Lakers' trip to Slovenia and this was courtesy of Luka Doncic
as he brought out the whole entire team with the exception of Cam Carr who had to stay back for
NBA rookie training, but everybody else was in attendance for that small little training camp
that they had in Slovenia where Luka took the team around to show the hometown and, you know,
showcase a little bit different things about his past life before coming to America. But,
there has been images surfacing from that trip that shows a new slimmed down Luka that has a
lot of Laker fans excited and enticed for the season as this is a picture from Luka Doncic
in Slovenia and it's the most in shape Luka ever as it appears to be as he's the slimmest
as he's been in his entire NBA career, maybe even before his Dallas Maverick days and
one producer said that Luka looks like he's getting back to his early Mavs way and looks
good and now that has like a lot of Laker fans really, like I said, excited about the prospects
of this season upcoming. I mean, just take a look at these just images just literally from a couple
of years ago from a guy like Luka Doncic and to what he looks like now. It's just almost like a
totally different person and this new slimmed down physique should help him stay healthy and
more importantly keep him in games for the Los Angeles Lakers down the stretch because that's
what happened last season where Luka Doncic, yes, he did slim down a little bit, but he still had
that hamstring injury that really essentially ended his season in that game in Oklahoma City
and he did not play in the playoffs for the Lakers. That really changed Lakers fortune there
in the playoffs because if he was on the team, it definitely would have been a different series
obviously for the Houston Rockets, but for the Oklahoma City series as well, I think Luka Doncic
would have made a massive difference for this Lakers squad. So Luka Doncic, this is probably
the first time also in his career that I'm going to bring up that he's not playing for his
national team in Slovenia, so he has dedicated a lot to staying in shape and getting in peak
physical shape for the NBA season and we just, like I said, we've seen just because of those some
of those images there for the Los Angeles Lakers, just another one there. He's also bringing back
the headband there and even that image right there on the left, I almost mistaken him for Austin
Reeves. That's how slimmed down Luka Doncic was looking for the Los Angeles Lakers and just for
me personally, this gets me very excited, like I said, for the prospects of this because yes,
Luka has always, you know, the tall, this tall size and stature, you know, it's always helped,
you know, his bigger body helps him push off defenders, but, you know, it's more importantly
to have more strength and, you know, some good core strength also there so you can be able to have
the longevity that's needed to go through the whole 82 game gauntlet and also the playoffs.
So this is now, I think, Luka just locking into a real prime physique and he is also right there
in the prime of his career right there as 27 years old, which is usually where you start to
figure things out, not only from a basketball perspective, but just what to do physically and
how to really make sure you get the best version of yourself for this team there. And this really,
like I said, has me very excited for the prospects of the season, because the biggest thing about
Luka Doncic was just staying healthy for the course of the season, because whenever he's in
the lineup, he is always going to be a threat to score 30 points, you know, give over 10 assists
and probably even 10 rebounds. That's how good this player is. And he is really looking prime
for possibly an MVP season run here just because of the way how he's been taking it so seriously
for him. And there hasn't been any type of setbacks when it comes to that injury that he had
way back when with the hamstring. And it's just been very, very good to see for Los Angeles Lakers
as they're really trying to start to build that early parts of their chemistry here with that
gets me to my next point here as Luka and the Lakers are bonding in Slovenia as they've spent
there a couple of days there. But I believe as of today, they're all either flying back or have
already flown back to Los Angeles or whatever their respective areas are before they come into
training camp next month in Los Angeles. But it's just been very, very good to see the Los Angeles
Lakers all kind of getting along there. And, you know, just getting some early runs. There
is footages that the Lakers put out online that they were getting runs, you know, up and down the
court. You know, we saw a lob to Walker Kessler from Luka Doncic. We saw Austin Reeves get into
the basket. We saw a Dutero in transition, maybe even got images of Bronnie knocking down shots.
So it's just very good things to see from Los Angeles Lakers, especially over there in
Slovenia. And just like another thing that I want to talk about is just that slim down physique
there. And also Luka is bringing the team just in different parts around where he grew up there.
This is one of his home courts that he was playing outside and he brought the team there.
There was a lot of fans and just folks there in Slovenia who obviously love Luka Doncic.
And, you know, in turn, you know, love Los Angeles Lakers because he's on that team.
And just it was very welcoming to see the whole Los Angeles Lakers team kind of come together and
just share this moment for the season, because these moments are very vital into building that
team chemistry and building that bond that really makes it even better for Los Angeles during the
season where you go through those tough times or you go through maybe some of those lulls in the
season where things maybe aren't going as well. But that team karate, that team spirit can really
help boost team morale. I mean, just take a look at these guys here. As like I said,
everybody was there in attendance from you see Quentin Grimes, you see Dolph Connect,
you see Aduthiero Brani, you see the two-way guys all there, Zaire Williams, Walker Kessler,
just all the whole team there in Slovenia getting some runs there. I do believe there's also some
coaches also on this trip, not the main coaches, just more some of those play development guys
really help some of these guys just along with some of like the basketball workouts and things
of that nature. But just it's very exciting to see this from all of us as Los Angeles Lakers fan
because to get these early reps in as a team is going to be very vital and very important because
all these guys for the most part are playing for with each other for the first time. Yes,
there is some teammates here or there who have played with each other. Obviously, you had Colin
Sexton, Walker Kessler, and then Luka Doncic played with Quentin Grimes before with the
Dallas Mavericks and things of that nature. But for the most part, as a team, as a whole,
they haven't really played too much together. And then obviously with the Lakers,
with the few returning players they've had with Luka Doncic, Austin Reeves, Jared Vanderbilt,
Jake Laravia, and I believe they're young guys, so Bronny and Aduthiero. Those are the only
young returning guys and all these new guys coming in with T. Stivel, Zaire Williams,
like I said, Walker Kessler, Quentin Grimes. Just it's very, very nice to see them getting those
early reps in and try to build that connectivity on the court because the Lakers are definitely
going to need the season in a very tough Western Conference. You know that OKC, San Antonio,
they're going to be up there. They're going to be teams to bout with. You know, Denver is still
going to be in the conversation. Teams like Houston, they're going to come back a little bit
stronger. Even some of these younger teams like a Portland or even a Utah Jazz, who I think is
going to make some noise there in the Western Conference. So the Lakers are going to need to
be on their P's and Q's, especially when the season starts and getting these early reps in
as a team just only further helps the Lakers goal. So it's been very good to see the Lakers
in Slovenia and their time there, but their time has come to an end and now
it's going to be coming back to L.A. and just getting those reps and continuing to build
that bond and connectivity. And I know JJ Redick is excited about the prospect of this new team
and just seeing how everything fits around Luka and Austin as we go into this new era of Laker
basketball. But that's probably going to be it for this video. Let us know in the comments down
below, what do you think of Laker's trip over there in Slovenia? Do you think it was a good
thing for Los Angeles Lakers to do that trip for Luka Doncic to bring him to his hometown and show
them all some of the things that he was accustomed to growing up in? And then also, you know,
playing together on the court because I think that's one of the more vital aspects. And then
also, what do you think about Luka's physique? Do you like the way this new Luka has looked?
Do you think it's going to help him throughout the Los Angeles Lakers season here? And do you
think it's only going to be benefits for the Los Angeles Lakers down the road, especially
when we get to the playoffs? Let us know in the comments down below. I've been your host,
Okechi Opakuma, and I'll catch you guys on the next one.
