AI GeneratedThe Los Angeles Lakers are finalizing their roster ahead of the preseason finale against the Denver Nuggets. Head coach J.J. Redick provided updates on player health and emphasized the importance of increased practice time this offseason. The team is working toward a full rotation before the regular season opener against the Golden State Warriors on October 21st.
This is huge, as the Lakers just gave multiple updates
in regards to several players on the team
as the Purple and Gold look to get a full,
healthy roster ahead of the preseason finale.
And welcome to Lakers Digest, my name is Hunter Pitkoff,
where we cover everything surrounding your Los Angeles Lakers,
whether it be different rumors, reports,
breaking news, as well as different trades, signings.
The final preseason game, like I said, is Friday night,
as well as the start of the regular season,
which is just a handful of days away this is the place
to be for your purple and gold just hit the

and look the Lakers they've been
guys in and out of the lineup throughout
the preseason J.J. Redick had said that he was
looking to get the full rotation back before
this Friday night game against the Denver Nuggets and
look he very well might and so this is what he had
to say during Thursday's practice again right
before the game um this is what he says
that Zaire Williams was a full participant in practice
he said Colin Sexton did everything but uh live
which is live practice so he did all the drills
for an hour and did some up and down drills versus coaches
and then we played live the rest
of practice and there's some videos out there
of Colin Sexton practicing actually with JJ Redick
again some shots up uh and then he
also said Adu was a participant Cam Carr is out everyone else is
trending in the right direction we've seen guys like Walker Kessler
who hurt his finger we saw
him make his preseason debut did a pretty nice job there
um but this potentially could mean that
do the Zaire Williams and Colin Sexton perhaps they
do end up playing in this game uh coming up
here against Denver if you go on Calcio right now go check out
the market yourself the Lakers have a
66% chance to win it according to the Calcio market
that is the sponsor of today's video so on Calcio
you're trading directly against other users
and not the house like traditional sports books and
other terms you're buying yes
or no contracts are the outcome of events it can be um certain games
it can be sports politics weather
and even this game coming up here the the preseason finale for
the lakers so if you think the lakers can fend off
the denver nuggets in this one you can go
on Calcio and put down some money let's say you put down
a hundred dollars right and then
there we go uh you put down a hundred dollars lakers win
this one you get a max payout of over
143 dollars yesterday it was 160 plus dollars
so you might want to get on that now before uh that
market changes and maybe you lose out on some cash
and the lakers do in fact don't win so if
you're interested in signing up for Calcio it's super easy
this is all you have to do just
use the link down below in our description
or in our pinned comment section and just use that

playing your first five or sorry your first 25 bucks
so uh like i said right uh jj reddick having
some some good optimism here about the lakers uh Zaire Williams
also got in on the mix here as well
saying that he feels good it's up
to the staff now uh he believes he's in good hands he's been
taken care of uh and he feels like he is ready to go
as long as they say i am so this sounds like a
player who's eager to get back we've also heard uh
or basically kind of seeing the Zaire Williams
maybe the lakers kind of revealed their cards a little bit uh
and he could perhaps be the starter
for the lakers come opening night uh
which again october 21st so it's coming up uh against
the golden state warriors before we talk about
the regular season a little bit we're gonna pump
the breaks and let's talk about uh ending
on a mile high note if you know denver uh is the mile
high city so we love a good little pun there
while we can get it so this is what JJ Redick also had
to say um just in regards to um how he's
been feeling uh during training camp here and during
the summer uh saying that he would have loved
to have had gotten looks with everybody healthy and
everyone he got uh good to go but we
also have to be smart with an 82 game season i think in terms
of integrating all the new guys that we have that have been available
which i think is everybody
except for colin in live play it's
been pretty seamless they're a smart group i think there's
more of those two i could be wrong
or else this was it all right that was it all right the second
quote i have here was a little bit longer
from JJ Redick this is what he had to say also as well
uh because we've had more practices this offseason
and we've had two extended periods of good
practice time we've been probably able
to install more particularly on the defensive end then we
have in the last couple of years pretty interesting
they're uh saying last year we had six total
practices in preseason because of the amount of games
and the back-to-backs and the travel and
all that and i guess i was lebron calling out the nba
when they had to go to milwaukee for a game
um on the east coast like that was not east coast
but central time still two hours from la um where
was i uh last year we had six total practices in preseason
because the amount of games and the
back-to-backs and the travel
and all that and we played opening night so that's another day we
didn't get the practice i think we ended up with 12
this year 12 compared to six that's a very big
difference especially with a group of guys that nine
or about nine or ten of them are new players
so that is definitely a massive difference
and jj is appreciative of that saying that we have to
double the amount of practice time
so i think that's a blessing when you have new guys definitely
a good thing uh for the Los Angeles Lakers uh
to have at their disposal here and i think in this
last game too i think we are going to perhaps see
a good amount of players playing in this game uh
which is definitely going to be uh a good thing for the lakers here
so right now on digest media
this is uh what they have projected
as the uh starting lineup again i did not make this this
is what our uh our our systems have
so and this is not set in stone i i think it's pretty close
to accurate though um jj had already announced
that luca austin walker kessler they're going
to start that's pretty obvious what does the rest
of the rotation look like though i think Quentin
Grimes is right there where he should
be because right um offensively he can play the three
defensively though he can be a guard
and you kind of swap Luka in that sense Luka's gonna be guarding
more uh forwards and and Grimes I think will
be guarding more of wings uh and Quentin Grimes to
me I think he's had a solid preseason here he's
had some moments some down moments too but I think
overall he's been pretty good I think of all
the guys that are available to be in the starting
lineup I just think he's the best player of them
and the one that kind of just makes the most sense
and they're paying him 50 million dollars a year
so I think he's going to be solidifying himself
in that starting lineup that next spot I think
is where it could get interesting but like I alluded
to before I think it's going to be Zaire Williams
that gets it you see J.J. Redick using Zaire as
that ball pressure guy I thought that'd be Grimes
but if it's going to be Zaire Williams I think
he's the best player on the team that's capable
of doing that and it seems like J.J. Redick thinks
that too. And so I think that he will
be in the starting lineup for
the Lakers here. And then their bench guys,
Mamu, who I really like
what I've seen out of Mamu. That dude can play.
I think he's going to be coming off the bench.
Collin will be coming off the bench, assuming he's ready to go
for opening night, which sounds like he should be.
Fingers crossed.
I think Matisse Thybulle is
going to be one of those guys, especially with the veteran
experience. And I think
that's your nine.
Kevon Looney, I've been very disappointed with what I've
seen from him. I think the Lakers need to get
an upgrade there, personally, at that backup five spot.
I'm fine with Mamu, depending on certain looks, getting the five look,
but I think they need a legitimate backup five,
so they don't have to rely on Mamu to play undersized,
or Kevon Looney, who's just, honestly, guys,
just not good enough at what the Lakers need right now,
and that's been evident.
But, you know, other guys, too, like Cameron Carr and Adu Thero,
I think they can get their opportunities as well as young players
at some point this season as well, so I'm excited to see
how all of that plays out for the Lakers.
But keep up with everything surrounding your Lakers,
different rumors, reports, breaking news,
as well as different trade signings,
which we might have a video on that relatively soon
as I got some interesting information here
in regards to what the Lakers might be doing.
But that's a little tease if you watch the news at all.
But to keep up with all that, as well as preseason coverage,
I'll be covering that Friday night here for you guys.
