It just keeps getting worse for the New England Patriots is after a crushing loss last night
in the season. Open of Earth is the Seahawks. Ian Rapport gives us a major update and insight
into AJ Brown and his injury timeline and a spoiler alert. It's not what we wanted to hear.
It's not as bad as maybe it could have been, but it's definitely not what we wanted to hear. So
we'll get you the update here today on Patriots Digest. Welcome everybody. I'm Jason Andrews,
and I hope you're having a great day wherever you guys might be. This is unfortunate. Obviously,
the loss last night hurt a lot. The pick by Drake May is something we'll talk about
probably until the next game, at least maybe even longer than that, depending on the way the season
goes. But we do have an update on AJ Brown who went out last night after suffering an ankle
injury. It was a slant pass that he kind of got his ankle. I almost want to say need. It wasn't
like rolled up on like it didn't bend in an awkward way, but the cornerback that was covering
him put his needs right into his ankle on the tackle. And, you know, just unfortunate situation.
Obviously he left the game. He was supposedly seen with a boot and in good spirits, but seen
with a boot after the game. X-rays were negative, but we do know now that of course it is likely
to be a high ankle sprain. Not what you wanted to hear. Again, it could be worse. There's no
broken bones or anything. Any broken bone would have probably spent him potentially half the
season on the injured, the IR. So that would have not been good, but we're still waiting on the
exact timeline. I have some thought processes on this, but right now we don't know. They're
going to have an MRI today to tell us, you know, exactly how long we think that this, you know,
injury is potentially going to last. And it sucks. First game of the year and already losing AJ
Brown. Now for the second game of the year, I'm going to trade yes on the Los Angeles Rams to beat
the San Francisco 49ers. They're playing tonight in Australia. So pretty cool to see that contest.
And obviously a Superbowl favorite in the Los Angeles Rams. You can trade on couch today with
this a 64% chance here for the Rams right now on a trade for yes on couch. You're trading directly
against other users, not the house, like a traditional sports book. You're buying yes or
no contracts on the outcome of events across sports politics, or even the weather. You can
also trade on the Rams to win in a point fashion. I think that might win by over a touchdown. So
I can trade yes on the Rams winning by over seven and a half points, and that would get me $66 and
44 cents on a $25 trade on. Yes. Again, if you're interested in trying out our presenting sponsor

this code digest NFL to get $25 added to your account. So go check it out again today. Link
will be in the description. Appreciate couchy for the support. So what exactly does this mean?
We don't know what, you know, how long he's going to be. The MRI today is going to tell us,
you know, what grade, what level of ankle sprain we're dealing with. But it certainly leaves the
Patriots in a pretty tough position when you think about it. So I guess the first thing that we have
to start with is what is the best case scenario and what's the worst case scenario, given what
we have seen with A.J. Brown and a potential high ankle sprain. So let's let's basically go
with kind of the overarching injury timeline. So if it is a grade one spring, that's the hope.
Then it could be anywhere from one to three weeks, given he was in a boot. If it is a grade one,
I would still tend to lead. He's probably going to be gone for three weeks would be my estimate.
And then if it's a grade two sprain, he's going to miss potentially two months of football.
Now, that's a huge blow for a multitude of different reasons, because,
I mean, you're saying at worst he's missing the next four games. So he's not going to be there
for the Steelers, not going to be there for the Jaguars, not going to be there for the Bills,
not going to be there for the Raiders. A lot of that, you know, Steelers and, you know,
the Raiders, whatever, Jaguars and Bills, that's a tough one right there to not have them in.
And then, of course, you know, past that, you got Jets, Bears and the Dolphins in weeks six,
seven and eight. So, you know, worse comes to worse. We're seeing him back in week eight,
and that's November. That's two months away, but that's like the worst case scenario,
I guess, at this point. So again, we don't exactly know the timeline at this point.
As of right now, people are speculating that it's going to be at minimum a month plus absence,
just because the way that that injury transpired, the quote unquote Twitter doctors that we're
I think we're probably looking at a high ankle sprain, or excuse me, a grade two high ankle
sprain. So just not what you wanted to see. Now, that does leave the Patriots wider C room
in an interesting spot. Obviously, see here, don't have Keishon booty because you traded him away.
It makes that trade look even dumber. And I know that a lot of us have the same opinion.
I've seen the comments of, you know, why did they make that trade with booty? Apparently,
they were going to sit him out. And so I don't know about that. Afton Chisholm is
now going to get some he was inactive last night. And he took the role of Keishon booty
being inactive. This is that what's kind of what Mike freeball and kind of implement implicated.
But in terms of the roster at hand, and you know what we have, it's going to be a lot of pressure
on some younger guys. Romeo Dom has got to step up after a really, really tough night last night,
three targets, one of them a full on drop the other one on a pick. You can say I don't know
if it was a bad throw by Drake. I mean, one of three bad throws maybe more to the last night.
Either way, we'll see Efton Chisholm, they do have the option, of course,
if he is going to be out for a month, and AJ Brown, they have that thought process,
they could put him on the injured reserve. In that case, they could bring a guy from the practice
squad, Cameron Dorner, Kyle Dixon or options. You also could think potential is there for them to
go out and sign a wide receiver that is on the open market. I know just a couple of veterans
to name that this Marquez Valdez Scantling, who's out there, I believe Juju's not signed anywhere.
I don't think I don't know if he wants to play but there's there's that option there. So
as of right now, of course, we'll kind of wait and see what transpires with that. But I do
see this wide receiver room taking a little bit of a new look here over the next couple of weeks.
And Pop Douglas was open a lot last night and wasn't hit as much as he should have been.
We'll wait and see though, obviously, for the final kind of thought process in all this and
what exactly this team is going to look like, you know, right now without AJ Brown, I am under the
impression that the Patriots would maybe make a signing, especially if he doesn't go on IR.
And I know that seems silly because they traded away a wide receiver and Afton Chisholm was,
you know, off off last night. So maybe they would just, you know, activate him every night and bring
up Cameron Dorner or Dixon. You know, you can bring up a guy from practice squad three times.
So in theory, you've got six, six times you can bring up Dorner and Dixon combined. So
we'll wait and see a couple of do do want to get some some a little bit of positive things and some
stock watch. Got this from a Carlos Lopez. Pretty, pretty accurate with the stock up stock down.
We'll have a video about Josh McDaniel sometime later today, probably
just a horribly cold game. I can't express that enough. Romeo Dobbs and Drake may obviously
struggled as well. Craig Woodson. It was a tough look, but I think he was fine. I think he's
definitely on the last list. They make gay back. It's look pretty good. Draymond Jones are really
good. He learned and having the touchdown, obviously, and then we know what Matt Collins
look like. He's still the safety blanket freaking for. He's still a safety blanket for for Drake
May and Keisha. But even that same thing, if he was still here, I'm not wrong. And I'm not going
to I'm not going to say that anybody would be wrong to say that, you know, Keisha and booty
will provide more right now than any other receiver they have on the roster just because
of the trust. But, you know, it is what it is. One other positive will Campbell against the Seahawks
definitely in a much better spot. Forty four pass block attempts had had one sack that he allowed,
but besides that, no QB hurries, no QB hits, just one pressure, a ninety seven point six
pass blocking efficiency overall to seventy seven point six pass blocking grade. And then the twenty
seven run block snaps at a sixty two point six run blocking grade with just two penalties. I say
just two to a decent amount, but, you know, it will take what we can get after we saw what we
did in the Super Bowl definitely looked a lot better in this game. Offensive as a whole looked
a lot better. The run blocking just wasn't there. But also you're facing the number one run defense
So, you know, it is what it is. But game one's over. Obviously, you know, from now on, you got to
kind of figure it out basically what you're going to do. Obviously, we'll keep an eye on the MRI,
I guess, with that. So, yeah, we'll keep you updated with what's going on, obviously,
and hopefully you'll be in a better spot when they face off against the Steelers
in about a week and a half's time. So appreciate you watching. See you next time.
