How to make Cool THUMBNAILS in 2 minutes FOR FREE (tutorial) And some super slow motion

Hello and welcome to the Tattooed Golfer YouTube channel, I hope everyone is well and safe in these horrible depressing times but keep your sanity it will all be over eventually and just get on with things and try your best to stay focused. Right in today's video I'm going to show you a quick and easy way how to make a half decent looking thumbnail for your YouTube videos in a couple of minutes. I could probably do it really really fast in like a minute but that'd be no point because you guys won't be able to see what I'm actually doing and what I'm actually using. All I'm going to use is my phone for this so it's really easy you need one app it's called Pixart, P-I-C-S-A-R-T all one word it's on Samsung it's on iPhone get it it's free there is a paid version which I've got on my iPad which I use when I'm going a bit more into a bit more detail with things but the free version is perfect for very simple and easy stuff. So I'm just going to set my phone to screen record and then we're laughing. Right download the app quick and easy off the app store you've got it happy days. Right the first thing you need is the size for the YouTube thumbnail. What I usually do is get your phone onto Google and then search I usually use the words HD so you get a better quality image. So I will search for YouTube thumbnail HD. Research that images purple one I've used that before so save that image happy days. Right find your Pixart app once it's loaded up open it up and start a new project and click on the purple image that will load it up for you and that then when you save it it will be the exact size for a YouTube thumbnail. Right I usually use two photographs from the video or from what you've taken as the thumbnail so I'll use two photographs and add some text. I've already picked two photos from my last video if you want to check that out there'll be a little card up there you can have a little watch of that. So I'm going to add the first photo we will add that in right so it's there it's on the screen you can see it. Crop it because we don't really want that bit. Right I usually change the opacity so you can see where the purple stops and what you've got to play with. So we'll put that a little bit smaller there that looks about right and then we will add the next one which is obviously we're not going to need that bit so if we crop that change the opacity so we can see where about we're going so about there that looks all right yeah but then we've lost that second image. If you see at the top there is a little rubber sign click on that click on the rubber on the bottom change the size all the way up to the top and change the hardness all the way down and then start from the opposite side so what where you don't want the image and then you start seeing the other one reveal and then if you change the opacity as you're getting in it'll only just slightly get rid of it so then it gives you a nice little blend. If you make a few mistakes like I went a bit too much there there you go happy days and then click the tick once you're happy with the position and everything click apply and that will then save that image that image is there but we need to add some text but before we do that a lot of people want to know how to put your logos and stuff on and this app does it perfectly. I've got my logo here add it in but it's got a black background and that's not going to look great and some people golf nuts is a big one who used to do this he's used to have it in a big white square or black square on the screen and to me it doesn't look good but he's sorting himself out so well good well done golfers right so if it's a black background go on blend at the bottom and change it to screen that gets rid of the black background completely you can put it anywhere change the size and everything and that's perfect but then if it's a white background so if we invert this image so it's white there you go so that's a white background if you changed it to screen it's just the black bit that's disappeared so what you need to do is change that to multiply and you can put that wherever you want it easy very easy right forget about that text we need some text i might lose you might use me logo actually so we'll just do subscribe there you go we've got the subscribe up on there doesn't look great but with this one you can add a stroke to it which is an outline around the outside of what you're actually doing uh and with a basic package you do get a few fonts that you can mess about with and and change uh so all right we will just click anyone that one will do won't it subscribe it doesn't really look like mine so we won't use that one permanent marker that one's quite cool i like using that one so if we put the subscriber where do you want to put it should we put it there so you can position it change the size of it and everything it's really good this app especially for a free app the paid version you do get so many more things with it and with the colors you can add textures to the color you can for a free app this is really unbelievable uh i started using this app when i was younger when i started tattooing i was kind of manipulated this app to do what i needed it to do for my tattoo designs and i've kind of stayed with this app for years now because i just think it works really well and once you're used to it i could literally come on here i could have done this and finished and made a brew and stuff by now but i want to try and explain it a little bit to you you can even add shadows to it you can change the opacity you can change the position drop the shadow down and i think that just gives the thumbnail a little bit more depth so i'll subscribe there we'll add a number two look at that absolutely fantastic we'll put the number two there so we will do that black we'll put a stroke on it that's white but say again if you want to match a color like say my beard over it you can click the little inject uh pipette thing and you drag it over to whatever color you want it we'll stick to white there make it a bit smaller subscribe to and then we will add my logo in blend screen obviously it doesn't really work because of the lightness of the picture behind but you get the image and you get the thing but we can get rid of that and just add there we go tilt it a bit add a stroke color gradient we will do gray at the top because it matches that and then we'll go to orange at the bottom there you go add a shadow to this that is the basics i know that's not perfect and it's uh thingy because it's the first time i've ever done a video like this but then there's all sorts of effects that you can put to it uh and another quite cool one is down on the bottom it's called you've got lights you can add like light effects to them and everything really and when say if you picked a light effect or something that you like but you weren't keen on the color when you click on it you can change the color and then you can change the actual blend how it blends on there you go lighter happy day and then you've got normal effects which you can click on and you can go hdr dodger these loads but there is some that are only on the paid version but again with these effects when you let's find that bin for there you're not too keen on that how overwhelming so you can fade it a little bit you can multiply it you can do all sorts to make it stand out so yeah that's really it uh not much more i can say all it is i might make it look really easy but and then you basically just save it when you're happy boom that's on your phone and you can put it into youtube i hope you enjoyed that uh before we go uh i was messing about in my garden doing a bit slow motion stuff with glitter and water and golf balls and stuff so i'm going to throw that on after here i hope you enjoy it i hope everyone is staying safe if you do enjoy it and you found helpful give it a little like and hit that subscribe button thank you for watching peace
