about the breaking news that I'm sure a lot of you have seen at this point that
Bengals wide receiver Jeremy Fowler bringing us this news that he is
expected to miss four to six weeks due to a thumb injury that requires surgery
per sources. He's having he had the surgery today and will likely go on
short-term IR and this is this is a big blow. I know it's not T Higgins and it's
not Jamar Chase but it does have some impacts for the rest of the team. Some
guys gotta step up and that's just a thing when you get older you get less
recovery. It gets a little bit harder to focus but it's a decline when you get
older that's so gradual you really don't notice it until it's too late and that

he's wide receiver three on this team has not gotten you know he's gotten some
decent reps pretty solid snap share that we looked at a couple of videos ago and
so he has he has played this season and he hasn't made a significant impact
offensively in terms of you know his receiving stats but but he is still a
receiver on this team and let's look at what Zack Taylor had to say about it in
his presser today he said Andre Josivash's sore ligament in his thumb had
surgery this morning he'll be on IR it'll be a week's issue it's not season
long but it will definitely be to the IR window maybe a little bit more but
don't have a timeline for him yet so it's a little unclear of how long he's
gonna be out and he said unfortunate for him otherwise BJ Hill will continue to
work work him through this week see where he ends up for this game as we
manage him so some injury news on BJ Hill there as well basically saying
again Joe Burrow he's sore but we'll see how he gets through practice today as
far as I've seen and heard Burrow is fine he's you know just general game
soreness and we'll see when he gets out there what he can do so bringing us that
news on Andre Josivash and you know it's it's an impact that we're gonna see some
adjustments and some things are gonna need to happen whether that means you
know maybe a tight end is called up maybe it will get into it later but he
continues with this saying several guys there's several guys that can step up
whether it's in the receiver room tight end room a lot of ways for us to fill
that and I would agree I think that if they're gonna take an injury blow this
early in the season you know I hate to say it but this is probably best case
scenario I you know thoughts go out to Andre and his family I don't mean any
ill will by that but I'm just saying in terms of this season and the injuries
that the team could take I'm glad it's not serious I'm glad it's not gonna be
season-long but it does it is unfortunate but I do think it means that
some guys are going to step up and for starters I think we've already seen it a
little bit the way that they've utilized him this season and in seasons prior is
Mike is sick he's role I think is going to be upped a little bit as well and he
already is I mean he's a pass catcher he's a slot receiver he's listed as a
tight end but they typically play him at slot and he gets a lot of his reps at
slot we've seen him you know play pretty well in the first couple games and I
look for that to continue a role I do expect to see more increased with that
is Eric Hall jr. and he's been an interesting one I was very excited for
you know him to come out and he really you know he hasn't made a ton of plays
up to this point they haven't gotten him super involved yet maybe not his fault
maybe more on the play-calling side but all together I mean I think that as
get sick he kind of takes over that role maybe at as a wide receiver three when
they use them in the slot more with you know chase and Higgins on the outside I
do think that means Eric Hall and drew sample are gonna get more reps more
interchangeability there at the tight end spot now at the wide receiver spot
that's a bit of a different story because obviously you have get sicky but
you kind of got a bump someone up and that's likely going to be Keyshawn
Williams if I had to guess when you look at their wide receiver depth this is a
little bit outdated but in terms of their wide receiver depth chart before
the season you know a few of these names are not necessarily relevant anymore but
you look at who they had I don't see it out of the realm of possibility that
they call up Mitch Tinsley maybe add him on to the active roster I don't know
exactly how that's gonna work but guys like Noah Thomas Kendrick Friar right
now Keyshawn Williams is probably the next man up after of course Colby Young
and Dante Myers which Dante Myers I think is probably the most likely the
way it stands right now him or possibly Colby Young the rookie Colby Young got
involved last week Dante Myers of course had a great preseason Colby Young it's
an interesting one because he is a rookie I'm curious how they're gonna
utilize him see how they're gonna you know fill in maybe maybe him and Dante
Myers I think split reps I think that is probably the most likely course of
action to take care of during this period of time you know this week
against the Steelers see you know throw Dante Myers target him a few times
target Colby Young a few times see who makes plays and earns our spot on to
more snaps for the following week I think that it's gonna be a week-by-week
type deal the way that Zack Taylor and the front office is gonna play this but
altogether I mean it is it is a brutal blow to lose a receiver so early in the
season especially a receiver that has had some controversy over the years and
you know he he's been there for the Bengals but he last year had a case of
the drop C's and you know there's some mixed reviews in the Bengals fandom I
see it in the comments all the time about about Yoshiva so I think that
there could have been bigger blows but nonetheless sucks to lose a guy this
early on in the season and hope for healing for him and and you know of
course BJ Hill hoping Joe Burrow stays healthy as well all of the above but we
got more news coming for you hopefully on a lighter note tomorrow and we're
gonna keep you updated on the progression of this injury but at minimum
when you're placed on IR it's gonna be four weeks so at the very least it's
gonna be four weeks but the way Zack Taylor makes it sound seems like it's
gonna be a little bit longer we'll have to see who steps up so you guys let me
know down in the comments who you think is going to step up or who needs to step
up the most in lieu of Andre Yosivash being out my personal pick I gotta go
Dante Myers I love the story I love the player he's shifty he's quick he gets
open he makes plays when he gets the ball in his hands and that's who I'm
most looking forward to see but Colby Young the rookie I think he shows a lot
of promise as well but let me know what you guys think down in the comments
below and you guys have a great rest of your day
