BAREFOOT BRITAIN_ Episode 22

It has been a very long day since I left Coventry this morning and I am here on the outskirts of Oldbury and RSPB Reserve waiting for the AA runners to turn up and it is tipping with rain and absolutely freezing cold so I'm hoping they get here soon so we can go for a little run. So why on this cold miserable afternoon why have you decided to come for a run with me? To meet you of course. Okay team ready for anything? Are you ready for a run? Yes. Awesome let's go. I'm going down this nice bit. It looks brilliant. I need a few volunteers to help me pitch a tent. Anyone got some experience with pitching tents? Shouldn't we confess this? No it's better if you you're you're up for it yeah I probably need I now going to do a tent pitching challenge and the challenge is they have to try and beat the guys in the Newcastle call centre who pitched it in less than six minutes. Three, two, one, go! Do you know what? I absolutely love this lot and in fact in all the AA call centres I've been in I have not yet met someone who isn't absolutely up for anything ready for anything and they're really lovely as well they feed me they look after me they chat to me and they're smashing the tent challenge. Three minutes down the tent pitching champions. My last nut cracked I can move on now thank you very much. Fantastic. I'm obviously on a huge challenge at the moment it's a bit of a crazy one so have you got a personal challenge coming up? I challenge myself every single week and I you know as I'm getting older like you I do enjoy a bit of running to be truthful with you so I do tend to run three four times a week but probably around about 5k and that's enough for me at this moment in time but you know I've done the marathon as well the Sheffield marathon yeah so my lad plays football he plays academy football to be truthful with you and he's extremely fit and now I go running with him he beats me all the time and there wasn't you know there was a day where I absolutely liked the floor with him but not anymore you know he sat on the bench waiting for me then I'm going I'm out of breath totally out so maybe keeping up with muscle would be a good thing oh thank you so much it's been amazing I'm I'm gonna miss you guys now um is it okay if I leave the tent with you I might take it on my adventure though I can't promise you'll get it back do you know what I'm gonna hold you to that please do take this on your adventures I will I'll take him bye I promise I'm not getting paid to say this but the AA lot they are honestly such a genuinely lovely bunch I've got to leave them it's time to get back on the road
