BAREFOOT BRITAIN_ Episode 11
It is the end of a fun-filled day in Scotland. I've had an absolute blast today running between
Glasgow and Airdrie but I'm now holed up in a hotel and I'm so excited!
Yep, my boyfriend Jamie is in. He's actually just flown in from America and now he's flying up to
see me. He lives in Gloucester but he's been in America so he's come up to see me. I haven't seen
him in six weeks which actually isn't that bad for us because normally we go two or three months
without seeing one another because he is also an adventuresome person. He's just gonna be mega and
I've got him with me for the next week although he's not running. Lazy. Look who it is, back from
breakfast. Hello! I have Jamie with me this morning after he arrived last night which is amazing and
yesterday was just one of the most plain sailing days I've had in a very long time. I was so proud
of some of the women as well. Loads of them said, oh I'll just run a few miles and then they
ended up coming for the full 13 and a half miles which was just ridiculous. Love it.
We were joking about having a sweeper and Sue's on it. Thanks so much Sue!
Found a trolley. It's a Morrison's trolley and we're going to Morrison's for coffee and
cake in a mile and a half so we've decided to return it to its rightful home. It's trolley
We're now using the trolley to pick up rubbish as we run. Slam it in Sue!
This is awesome. So we're now less than a mile away from where the ladies are finishing today
so the shoes are coming off and the toes are coming out. This is awesome.
We have made it to Morrison's. Not only have we brought back trolleys, a load of rubbish,
the girls have run barefoot and there is tea and cake inside. Win, win, win, win, win, win, win.
Just the debris at the end. So yet again I was supposed to film the lovely spread of tea and
cake and we've eaten it all. We've got half a gingerbread elephant left. There he is.
Yeah his head for the trunk. I de-trunked him. This is very important Scottish fuel.
I need to get into it. I can't get into it. Do you think if I,
it's like olives if you just keep trying them.
We're actually now in the last mile of a 22 and a half mile run.
Shona's come all the way which is amazing. In Livingston where we're finishing today
there is a very excitable girl called Zoe who's going to be waiting for us.
We've got a Zoe. Zoe, Zoe, Zoe. Are you going to come run with me? Yes.
And that is the end of today's run. Thank you Shona. Thank you. Thank you.
Time for some tea now I reckon.
Beautiful.
Thank you.
You're so welcome. Oh thank you. So we're in Livingston this morning. I have a
small posse of runners plus Zoe who's going to run a few hundred meters with me.
Yeah, we might have taken a wrong turning but we're back on track now. Back on track.
And again today I'm quite pleased that this is actually pretty chilled and easy running
at the moment because I'm quite tired. It's funny, pain just moves around. As long as the
pain moves around it's fine. You just got to be ready for anything. Ready for wherever the pain's
going to hit you. I'm not sure when it's going to go next but I need to get it out of my left
knee first. So I'm thinking I'm going to get some treatment in Edinburgh. So I'm thinking I've just
got to get to Edinburgh. The girls have decided that this grass looks too nice not to be barefoot on.
Checkers. No trainers. Who needs them?
I just threw the ball.
