In this raw video from one of his company Zoom calls, Tai Lopez breaks down how the most successful people—from Alexander the Great’s life-saving bodyguard to today’s elite billionaires—share one common superpower: razor-sharp awareness. This isn’t optional. It’s the foundation of leadership, wealth, and lasting success. And it just happens to be the very first step in Tai’s original 67 Steps program.
Why this matters: Awareness is the cornerstone of every success trait. Train yourself to see what others miss, and you’ll dominate in business and life. Tai’s first step from the original 67 Steps: awareness.

Everything you want to know about life
and money is being illustrated right in
front of you. Pay attention. You know
why I tell people to read a book a day
or a book a week? You got to sit down
and not be ADHD and read the page and
then go to the next page. Even watching
a movie is better than Tik Tok and
shorts cuz you got to sit in a chair for
2 hours and focus on people can't even
do that anymore. Get your awareness back
because without it all the skill and
opportunity in the world will mean zero.
This daily call is where I find
outliers. I am the king of ignoring
non-outliers just so you all know but
nobody in this company is even close to
catching outliers like me. Meaning it's
still in my I work with you guys all day
long. I might work with five minutes.
I'll know who's outlier in this company
that I'm going to build big things with
over the next decade. My primary way I
want you all to know is a mofo who's
aware as [ __ ] You know, let me tell you
a story about conquering the world. Um,
this is one of the greatest stories I've
ever read, heard, and it's the story of
a man who was going to conquer the
world. He wasn't a businessman, but he
was kind of like a bill businessman. He
became a trillionaire. His name's
Alexander the Great. He died young, but
in a short period of time, he conquered
from Europe all the way essentially into
Asia. And but that's not the great
story. The great story is he wasn't a
one-man show. And he was a master of
amazing people surrounding him. And so
he would go first into battle. He was a
true leader. He didn't lead from the
back and tell other people to charge. He
would go charge first. But of course, he
was a big general. So he had to he had
to have a business a vis a bodyguard of
20 guys, 20 30 dudes who would make sure
he didn't get killed. So in one of the
battles he was going into battle and he
had his he had his sword and he was
fighting and he did not see that behind
him the enemy had come a big guy with a
sword and was about to kill Alexander
the Great. But he had a highly observant
aware team of bodyguard and one of his
guys who was also battling other people
noticed uh Genghask Khan I'm sorry great
is about to be stabbed and I'm here to
protect him and he came with his sword
and he chopped off the arm right at the
shoulder of the dude who was about to
kill Alexander the Great. his arm just
dropped off and Alexander the Great
never forgot that guy and he made him
his essentially number two or number
three in his whole business. I mean his
whole empire I should say. So for me
when I'm looking for you, who the [ __ ]
paying attention? Oh, I the worst person
in this company that I'm so excited to
get rid of is the the person who's
daydreamer. Please, I don't care what
you've read. I know you've been told
that, you know, Albert Einste was a
daydreamer. I call [ __ ] at epic
proportions. He did math. You can't be.
Now, does that mean you don't ever have
a creative time where you go on your
own? Of course you do. Do you stay in
that place 8 hours a day? Most of you
do. Most people do. That's why my first
in the original 67 steps is awareness.
So, I was just doing a test talking to
Phil and I might have quickly said I was
like, I have video ads. You know, I sent
video ads and Phil's like, "Oh, the
image ads." And then I said, "Ah,
somebody come swoop in out of 80 people
on here to save their fallen comrade."
And nobody did. That was a bad sign. I
don't care if you're the janitor in this
company. You can become the president of
my brand. You going to become I do not
discriminate. Male, female, you could be
a high school, you be a elementary
school, a dropout. I don't care. They
always say, "Oh, be virtuous and don't
care." I don't care. But I do care about
some stuff. I discriminate about just
unaware people.
Oh, okay. I talking about you.
You know, Joel Sat, my mentor, used to
say, there's a time to stop and smell
the roses, and the time isn't now. When
I join the Zoom call, I don't care what
[ __ ] you're doing. Stop it. When I
leave, you can get a little more
daydreaming. When I'm on here, I should
be able to randomly go through you 80
people. I need a BB. What did I just
say? Repeat back to me the last five
sentences. You should be able to get
pretty close. That's all I care about.
You give me those people, I need five. I
need five. I could You can make a
billion dollars with five people like
that. Or maybe you need 23. Elon Musk
had 23 guys called the PayPal Mafia.
Every one of them became a billionaire.
One of my friends, Big Billionaire,
who's a CFO of PayPal. He's worth 1.2
billion. Even the lowest of the PayPal
mafia. The least famous is worth 1
billion. And the most famous is worth
450 billion. So where's my mafia? You
could call it mafia. You could call it a
family. You could call it a tribe. You
could call it a bodyguard. I already
know which one of you pay attention.
Couple of you. Who's this? Eisenstein
guy. Is he on here now?
Yeah, I'm right here, sir. Thank you.
This [ __ ] pays attention. I You
don't You think I don't notice you? I am
blind to everybody that once and by the
way, once I decide you're low awareness,
I don't have time to give people a
second chance. So, be It's kind of like
you go on a date with a girl and you're
an [ __ ] Most women can be like, "Ah,
there's too many fish in the sea." It
doesn't mean I don't give people a
second chance. It just means I don't
have time to give you a second chance
cuz there's 100 new people that want to
come work with me. I'm looking for
people who have the best first
impression, second, third, fourth, and
100th impression. Okay? If you're my
family, I'll give you a second chance.
If you're my brother, but this is this
is a little different. So, I don't like
when I'm asking, "Hey, Phil's making a
mistake." Unmute yourself. Keep your
finger on cuz you don't never know. Just
like Alexander the Great, when I need
you to come chop up the arm if
somebody's about to kill me. That's what
I need. That's the mo number one
frustration of entrepreneur owners. Man,
I feel like I don't have real support.
But I feel like I got people just
punching the clock and people just want
a paycheck. Like they're not really into
this. I was actually just talking to a
private client. She's in my $125,000
level and she's, you know, she's doing
300,000 a month. Not bad. But maybe
she's probably netting 150,000 a month.
But she feels like, my team's all over
the place. I feel like I'm doing
everything myself. I'm driving
everything myself. Nobody We hate that
feeling. Who's the business bodyguard?
You know, I did a business bodyguard in
2018. I hired 20 people. I I I'm sorry.
I didn't hire. I said on my social
media, I'm going to take 20 people.
They're going to follow me around. Just
shadow me in person in Beverly Hills. 20
people came. 10 of them I dropped in the
first day. It was funny. There was a
hose, a garden hose in my backyard in
Beverly Hills. And I was like, I walked
by it and it was all wrapped up weird
and it was like tangled and I was going
to untangle it and then I was like, "Let
me not do it." And walk by. Which of the
20 people will untangle it without me
having to say something? Who's aware
that there's this weird garden hose and
people going to trip and goes, "Oh crap,
let me grab that." One dude did. I let
10 people go right away. Next day, I was
like, "You 10 time, don't please don't
go back." You know what that's called? A
Gideon test. In the Bible, Gideon had an
army of 10,000 people, but he had to
take a very highly fortified castle. So,
you know what he did? He said, "Let's go
down to the river." Said, "10,000
people, go get a drink before we
attack." 10,000 9,700 people stuck, they
were so thirsty, they stuck their head
right in the water. Didn't pay attention
if there's any enemies in the bushes.
They just drank. 300 dudes he counted
drank out of their hands looking for an
ambush. He sent the 9,700 people home
and he kept the 300. Get the 300. That's
why I call my mastermind the 300 group.
That's 300. They took the castle. They
won. You only need 300 good people that
got your back. Pay attention. But you
can't go with everybody is being
hypnotized by screen time, Tik Tok,
YouTube. Where's the [ __ ] that
pay attention? Number one skill of
wealth. It's a funny thing. Mensah,
which is the high IQ society. It's
interesting. I I got a Mensa when I was
young. When they send a M on
intelligence, it's called the Mensa
something digest or something. One
article said, "Do you know how you can
tell which child is the most gifted in a
class, a little preschool of
2-year-olds? It's not what you think.
It's not the kid who can talk the most."
Remember, Albert Einstein didn't 6 years
old. It's not the kid who can do math.
He said this journal, I don't know how
they figured this out. It was the kid
who noticed stuff that nobody else
noticed. So the kid who would go, "Oh,
why is that fan?" You know, 2, three,
four year olds, like, "Why is that fan
spinning?" Most of the kids look death
round. So I've had this test in my mind
for years. When Joel Salatin came, I
when I here in my garage days, I did a
seminar, he came. I had a Lamborghini.
Had a little Lamborghini Gallardo. Cool.
I love that car. I've had an Aventador
and all that, but a Gallardo is almost
faster cuz it's this teeny car, right?
Super light. It's before the Huracan. So
I had that. I pick up Joel at the
airport in the Gallardo. Now Joel
doesn't care. He's a farmer. He not
really impressed by my Lamborghinis at
all. Has no impress. And anyway, so but
he got out of the car. He had never seen
a Lamborghini like that. And before he
got in the seat, he walked all the way
around it and said, "Dude, this is
basically Well, first off, he noticed
how big the tires were." He's like,
"How?" Cuz the Lambo has huge tires on
the back so that you have a lot of like
Bugattis and Lambos, they're massive.
Whenever I see like I'm on the freeway,
I see like a little cheap car fly by me
at 100 miles an hour on these little
teeny tires, I'm like, "Bro, you are
[ __ ] gonna die if there's rain in a
puddle." Cuz Lambos are like twice as
big. Not quite twice as big, but
massive. So he noticed, he's like, "Wow,
these are huge tires." Then he walked
around. He's like, "This is basically
just an engine on a chassis with like
almost no car. It's just like a little
dome over you that's super light thing.
And it's just this like it's almost like
a tractor. By the way, the founder of
Lamborghini built tractors first. It's
like this super powerful engine with
almost nothing on top. And that's why
it's so light like a Gallardo. And like
I said, I've had the 7 I got a 740
horsepower Aventador, but it's heavier.
That Gallardo is like a glider with a
massive 600 horsepower engine. So he
noticed that. So I was like, my first
mentor, this I've had a thousand people
come up to the Lambo. Nobody ever
notices the tires really. even like they
don't think like that. Number two, Mark
came to my house, Beverly Hills. Mark
Cuban walks in. Let's say 500 people had
come to that house that year. We I walk
into the backyard and as I'm walking,
Mark Cuban stops on the door. It is a
big house, 17 square,000t
house. It had 18 bathroom acre. It's
about a Now it's about a $80 million
house, $60 million house. Beverly Hills.
I rented it for five leased it for 5
years. Always lease. You get tax
deductions. Okay. So, he walks through,
he stops on the way out. He goes, "I
have never seen door handles like this."
He's like, "They go the opposite." The
way they lock. And he sat there for 3
minutes. Talk about it. I know why he's
worth a billion dollars. The man sharp
and observant. I have been fortunate
enough to know 10 billionaires. I If you
asked me 1 to 10 how airheaded they are,
how headed in the clouds, I'd be like
two. Two out of 10. Two out of 10. They
don't miss [ __ ] They don't miss
anything. You send them a contract,
they'll find the one little sentence in
that [ __ ] You think they just signed
[ __ ] They're like, "Uh, section 8.43.
What is this?" They call you back, not
their lawyer. So, I just want you all to
know when you're first working for me, I
got to unbrainwash you cuz you're
listening to all this stupid [ __ ] about
how you know it's like you have this
daydream of an idea and you come in and
you don't want to do the work, so you
delegate and all that. This is all
nonsense. You know, I must say the CEO
of Tesla Tilly is worth 430 billion. And
I got people with $1 million business.
How do I replace myself so I can just
spend time daydreaming? Ah, come on. I
could predict everybody's bank account
balance in 3 years from now from your
awareness factor. And at 67, I call it
worth a damn. Are you worth a damn? Oh,
I got it. This lady I was talking to
Andrea, my private client. She hired two
salespeople. I go, "How are they? 1 to
10." She goes, "Well, one's closed one
sale in 90 days. The other's closed
none." I said, "How good are they?" She
goes, and she started telling me about
their resume. Well, this one before was
closing. I said, "That's not the worth a
damn factor. Worth a damn factor is
reassessed every morning you wake up.
There's no legacy. You You're not worth
a damn because of yesterday. If I if I
hire security dude, big room, can still
bench 500 lb. If he comes in with a
piece of paper, oh man, back in ' 84, I
could bench 600 lb and I put him under
this bench press right here and he only
bench press 50 lb. You think I care? It
resets every damn day. So when you all
work for me, it resets every day. Don't.
The mortal sin in this company, the
mortal sin, that's like the unforgivable
sin is being unaware of what's going on.
You should know everything in your
division. I'll tell you what I don't
like. Somebody goes, "Uh, that's Bob's
thing." Oh, you're in marketing. You
know, you if you're in my marketing
division, you know what Bob, George,
Susie, and Harry are doing. All of them.
I don't care. I It doesn't matter. How
can you do your job if you don't know
what the whole team's doing? Hey, I'm in
the army. I just march here. I don't
know what the guy on the right or the
left or I don't know what the artillery
is doing behind me. Yeah. You're just
like sheep to the slaughter. It's your
life. If I'm in the army marching, I'm
like, "Yo, bro, these dudes supposed to
support us with artillery." Like, I
don't hear any missiles coming. Let me
call in. Uh, I'm on the front line. You
I heard I overheard somebody saying
there's going to be a barrage to protect
us. They call that the rolling barrage
in World War I. Uh, I'm out here on the
front lines. I know it's not my duty. I
don't want to be an [ __ ] but can I
get a little artillery or we're going to
be walking into a machine gun fire? I
don't want to die. Some of you should be
like, uh, I'm working in marketing. I'm
like a junior person, but the senior
person here, they haven't launched the
video ads for your Saturday thing. I'm
not trying to be a tattletail. I already
talked to them, but I just want you to
know how can I help? That's what I like.
That's about the number on a scale of
one to a million of what makes somebody
who's going to make money in their life.
This is the only personality trait that
scores a million out of a million. Sales
skills, 600,000 out of a million.
Marketing skills, 700,000 out of a
million. Hard work, 500,000 out of a
million. IQ, like math, IQ, 600,000.
Awareness of what's going on, high
energy to get involved when you see
something crazy happening anywhere
without being a tattletail. You can do
it without being a title. Million out of
a million. A million out of mill. You
want to make money in my sales team? Be
the most aware person in this company.
You can make the most. You're going to
be the best marketer I've ever worked
with. Be the most aware. My brother was
good in 2013. I was building my personal
brand. My brother, you could talk about
Here's the simple test and I'll leave
you with this. Here's my awareness test.
I get to go three questions deep with
you.
Three questions deep. So, if you're in
my sales team, I just go, "How many
dollars was there yesterday?" A lot of
you will be able to answer $1,000. Okay.
What was cost per what was revenue per
dial? Ah, now I lose people. First
question deep there's a lot of people
you know I'm in Europe and I I love
Europe and some things Europe is better
than America food lifestyle some things
no GMOs better you know but sometimes
Europeans are arrogant cuz they're like
oh Americans are so non-cultured and we
know art we know science we know all
this so I always get with my European
friends and they're like oh yes I've
been listening to Bach you know cuz they
want to sound refined compared most
Americans don't really follow classical
music right so with the European
friends. Yes, I was listening to Johan
Sebastian Bach. So they they go one
level deep in intellectual, so I like to
tease him. Oh yeah, you like Bach. Which
one? Which Bach? 90% of people don't
know that they're Bach and his sons. Yan
Sebastian Bach, JSB is the most famous,
but his sons wrote he had 20 children.
One daughter was a prodigy with music
and two sons, I think three of them were
prodigies like him. So I asked what? And
then maybe once in a while people know
that he had sons and I go a third level
deep and I go what century did Boach
play or what's box music called? What's
the genre of music? Or name two of
Boach's most ma uh most well-known
masterpieces. Everybody's gone there.
All the Europeans that act intellectual,
nobody can go three levels deep. My
grandpa could. He was a you know master
of stuff. Mark Cuban I can go hey Mark
what do you think? Should I do cash or
acrruel? Or Tilman Fertito, one of my
billionaire mentors. Oh, should I do
cash or acral accounting for this
business? Should I be a CC corp, S Corp?
Should it be taxed as a corporation or a
partnership? Should it be offshore?
Should it be in the Seell Island? Should
it be in Ireland? What What do you think
of the guilty tax that I'll have on
this? Should I have a Seore blocker in
Delaware to repatriate money back into
the You don't lose these [ __ ]
They know everything. And they'll Here's
the ultimate test. When you're with a
black belt or a red belt, they'll go,
"Oh, well, actually better than Tai.
You're talking about a core blocker in
Delaware for your offshore Irish company
to repatriate to only pay 12% guilty tax
on offshore profits. Well, have you
looked at the new structure that just
came out of Paraguay in Bise which has
and they'll they'll to be like, "Oh, you
think you're smart? Let me top you." And
they're not trying to show off. They
just know more. So, I'm looking for that
person. Going back to my business
bodyguard, 20 people came. One made it
to the end. His name's Andrew Cop. Some
of you remember, big dude, big football
guy. grew up in the poorest parts of New
York City in housing projects. Multiple
generations of curse of poverty. Okay.
Still a friend of mine. He's traveled
the world with me for two years. Learned
sales, marketing, business, common
sense, awareness. He's very aware. Um,
and he I remember the first year after
he was with me, he went into sales and
he made $600,000 in commissions. Said,
"Hey, Ty, here's my payubs. 600K." He's
been doing between 4 and 800,000K for
the last He probably got out of my
business mastermind uh about 5 years
ago. You know, he's done millions. And
it wasn't the guy. He looked the least
likely of my damn group. He looked like
he came out of poverty. You know, funny
story. I was in New York. I was out with
a group of people and I was on a date
with a girl and at the end we all it was
like 10 of us went to the movies. I took
her with me and when we left, when we're
walking home, the woman said to me, "Ty,
that's so nice of you to that you took a
homeless person to the movies." I was
like, "What?" She said, "Yeah, that one
guy. He dressed so dirty clothes that
she thought I had picked up a homeless
guy." That's what I said. He didn't look
like he was going to be the best guy in
my 20, guys. He didn't look like he's
going to be the best guy in my 20, but
he's the most aware. He paid attention.
He watched the brand. Stuff didn't get
past him. He I could ask him three
questions deep. What happened in the
company? Oh, that happened, that he
knew. awareness. It It I told you, you
know, a 100,000 people or more have paid
to go through my 67 steps training. It's
a lot. And 67 hours of training, 90,000
of them violate the first of the 67
principles. That means the rest won't
work. So you all just remember if you
don't have awareness, every other skill
you have means nothing. Awareness
that'll lead to confidence. Get your
awareness back. I don't want to feel I
want to feel like when I ask Phil a
question and he doesn't know it. I can
go to any of the other 72 people on here
and just go randomly. Hey Luke Spicer,
what was the guy's name in the story I
just told you? The one dude who made it
through the business bodyguard. Only
Luke Spicer. Unmute yourself.
I think his name was uh Andrew. No, it
was a I'm
That's it. You got it. Don't doubt
yourself so much.
Andrew cop
Andrew. You got it. Good. That's what
I'm looking for as a pop quiz. Uh,
Cadri Silva, how many children did Bach
have? Nobody else. Do not answer cuz
then you're low awareness if you answer
for somebody else. People hate quizzes.
Um, I'm thinking maybe seven.
Nope. Got to pay attention more when I
talk. Don't play video games. Don't
daydream. Average attention span of the
modern American is uh lower than a
goldfish. You're failing the goldfish
test. Goldfish can only can pay
attention for six seconds. Average human
five. I gave a 15-minute talk here. It's
going to be tough to remember if Joan's
a Boston Bach had 20. 20 kids. It's easy
number to remember. It's a big number.
Last but not least, I'm picking a random
person here. Will Suarez. I'm picking
the people with their camera off because
those are the least likely be paying
attention. Will Suarez.
Yes. Hi, Tai. What was the thing I
wanted people to observe in my business
bodyguard test group of 20 people in the
backyard and only one guy noticed it?
Oh,
awareness.
No, no. What was the thing that he
noticed? He looked down and said, "Oh,
this looks messed up." You remember?
Will Suarez, get your awareness up? The
garden hose. He saw the garden hose all
wrapped where everybody could trip on
it. All right, so we got one person
passed the awareness test. Two didn't.
Everything you want to know about life
and money is being illustrated right in
front of you. Pay attention. You know
why I tell people to read a book a day
or a book a week? You got to sit down
and not be ADHD and read the page and
then go to the next page and then go to
the next page. Even watching a movie is
better than Tik Tok and shorts cuz you
got to sit in a chair for 2 hours and
focus on People can't even do that
anymore. Get your awareness back because
without it all the skill and opportunity
in the world will mean zero. Most of
school should be just getting kids
awareness up. Microscope look at your
body. You know you're aware how many
bacteria and people are afraid of
bacteria. So you know how many's on you
right now? Then you'll be aware. Oh,
immune system is what matters more than
bacteria. One cup full of seawater has
like a billion virus or whatever in it.
Like you got to be aware of the
unconscious of the unseeable world too.
Everything you need to know is all found
in awareness. It's why all the gurus,
guru Maharashi, these ones, you know
what they did? You sit in silence. You
breathe and you be aware of the breath.
Can you do that? I do that every day.
Transcendental meditation in and then
you're counting the breath. You're not
letting your brain wander. Not letting
your brain wander. Can you stay aware of
just the moment? The power of now.
Echarolei, one of the most beloved books
ever written. Are you aware? Are you
aware? Jesus Christ. He said, "The
kingdom of heaven is within you. Are you
aware?" See, the the the people in the
Bible thought because they had a big
building, the Pharisees had a big
building, they thought that they were
connected to God. And he's like, "No,
the kingdom of God's inside you, but
you're not aware of it. So, you get
distracted by the buildings in this." A
lot of people in business are
distracted. AI will make me rich. And
not if you don't have the fundamentals
on the bottom or the mental laws of
money. And I gave you the most
important. There's not even one close to
awareness. Some of you, I'm telling you,
one day you'll look back, you'll have a
good life, you'll have heaven on earth,
you'll have health, you'll have wealth,
you'll have love, you'll have happiness,
and you'll trace it all back to one
personality trait that you cultivated
while you work with me, which is to be
the most aware person in the room.
There's a reason the mafia guys sit in a
restaurant with their back to the wall.
You know why? So they see every
[ __ ] that walks in the front
door that might want to kill them. Some
of you are just, you know, you're in the
mob, the business mob, and you just go
sit right by the front door with your
back to the front door. What could go
wrong? Oh, you're going to get
slaughtered. You're going to get
slaughtered. Turn around, put your back
to the wall. Watch. If you're in sales,
you should know what's going on in
marketing. You should be watching my
Instagram story. It is very observant.
Thumbs up. Jerome Hawk, KC, are you on
here? Case goes, "Ah, Ty, I saw you just
posted this. Did you mean to post this?"
Not all of you. I don't even know if Not
all of you even follow me. I don't. And
by the way, I don't care about the
follower count. I'm just saying if I
work for Grant Cardone, I'd probably
follow him on every channel and I would
turn my alerts on because I'm like, if
I'm working for a personal brand, I
probably want to know what he's posting.
It'll allow me to do my job better. I
could make more money. I could make more
comm. Who here, be honest, follows me on
every channel that I have. There's seven
main channels. And who doesn't? Just be
honest. I'm not going to fire somebody
over this. I just curious. Do don't.
That's all you got to say. Yes. No. I
know there's some nos out there. Please
don't lie. Okay. This should be the last
time I ever asked that. Talk. Unfollow
other people. Follow the person you're
working with. Just common sense. That
would be my first 5 minutes at any
personal brand I worked for. Go follow
the personal brand. It's free. Twitter,
Snapchat. Okay. Don't don't Tik Tok.
Boom. Boom. Is he on Reddit? Reddit.
It's free. I'll tell you this. Mark
Cuban was right when he said the first
trillionaire is going to be built over
the next 10 years. First trillionaire.
And it's going to be somebody we don't
know their name. It's going to be an
unknown person. It's going to be one of
you. It's going to be somebody. It's not
going to be Elon Musk. That's Mark
Cuban's prediction. But I can tell you
once that guy's a trillionaire and I go
in there, he's going to be a million out
of a million in awareness. He knows the
trends. He knows how to catch them. He's
not a space cadet. He's not thinking.
He's not His mind can focus. He can
breathe. He can do a breathing session
for 5 minutes without his mind going off
the breath or she.
