49ers Take Long View on Mike Evans' Achilles Injury

Doctor, I know we talked last week about Mike Evans and hopeful that he would return and hopeful that his season will still be on track, but now we're also getting word that it looks like not only are we missing him this week, but also week 10 seems like more than likely he will also miss time. So are we just sort of putting off the inevitable here when it comes to Mike Evans and this Achilles injury, or do you think that this is okay and the rest will end up solving some of the issues that Mike Evans has now and help him down the stretch of the season? Yeah, I think the 49ers are playing the long game. If you give Mike Evans a choice, he's going to try and play through it. I think using the bye and using the time to try and get healthier. The 49ers are poising as they get healthier. They traded for DeForest Buckner. Nick Bosa's back. Demarcus Robinson's back today. They're trying to load up here, and I think they want a healthy Mike Evans, and I think that's what they're shooting for as opposed to a limping along Mike Evans.
