As our temperatures are warmer, but what's going to counteract it
this morning is the fact that we have some stronger winds.
Now, not completely out of the question to have winds, maybe 15 miles
an hour, but it is adding a slight chill to the air at times.
What we're tracking, though, is lots of sunshine.
So it doesn't matter if it's cool right now.
The sun is going to help warm us up today and really statewide.
We don't have much going on because we have a dry,
cold front moving through. This front doesn't
We don't have enough moisture for it to work with to bring us a lot
in terms of cloud cover or precipitation, but it is going to increase
our winds and it is going to bring us some slightly cooler air
behind it as we are moving into the days ahead. As we zoom out,
this was over Canada near the Pacific Northwest yesterday.
It's now over us now, but we have a series of low pressure systems
in the exact same spot that will be trailing our way and that could
change our weather as we move through the rest of the week.
of the week. Let's take a look right now on Sky Vision Plus,
though, focusing more on today.
First, we will have more of a westerly wind that could be up
to 15 miles an hour as we move through the mid to late morning.
Winds will again begin to change out
of the northwest today behind that front.
So a little bit more on the breezy end with sustained winds that could
be near 20 miles an hour when gusts could be near 30 miles an hour.
So it will be a breezy but sunny day still looking
to be mild temperature wise, which will break down momentarily.
But what we're going to watch heading in the
into tonight is the wind's getting lighter and the sky
is staying clear. Both of those will help our temperatures drop back
into the mid 30s by tomorrow morning. So make sure you still have
those winter coats out for the start of the week.
We are warmer this morning as I mentioned, low 40s right now,
only a few upper 30s from Fond du Lac to Juneau.
Again, feeling like the mid 30s for most spots.
The wind chill goes away more
so later on today as our temperatures warm into the upper 50s.
Maybe a couple isolated 60s closer to the lakefront, not ruled out
of the question here, but it is going to be an above average day.
Typical temperatures this time of year should be in the low 50s
and we are looking at getting lower than
that as we head towards the end of the week.
Here's the change that we're looking at having a shift
in the jet stream as we move from Wednesday into the end of the week.
We're going to have this trough moving through this dip in the jet
stream where cooler air from Canada is going to move further south.
That is going to bring us some of the coolest temperatures that we've
had for the season, especially in our high temperature department.
So let's talk about that six day forecast.
Breezy today, mild the next few days. We will still have dry conditions.
Wednesday is that turning point for Veterans Day.
We have a slight chance of showers,
but temperatures dropping back near average in the low 50s.
Then that round of cooler air moves in by the end of the week.
Highs in the low 40s.
Lows could be in the 30s, maybe some upper 20s by the weekend.
Breezy as well, and we will be watching these two days closely.
Winds could be shifting off of the lake.
Cooler air moving over warmer water
could bring us some lake effect showers
and maybe some lake effect flurries.
That would be our first snowflakes of the season.
So we'll be tracking that closely.
