The 2026 Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship winner's share is a lot of money
Nov 8, 2026
On Sunday in Abu Dhabi at Yas Links Golf Club,
the first leg of the DP World Tour playoffs are going to be decided,
and the winner of the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship
is going to take home a lot of money.
I'm Ryan Ballengee with Golf NewsNet.
We're looking at the prize pool and the winner's share
of the purse for the 2026 Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship.
Playing at Yas Links once again this year.
It's a 70-player field.
Top 70 available players in the race
to Dubai standings qualify for this tournament.
Not the top 70 alone, unlike the PGA Tour.
Who does their playoffs that way in the first leg?
So this is the top 70 available.
So this went down to about number 80 on the points list
because a number of available players chose
not to compete in this tournament
because of the issues going on in the Middle East at the moment.
Nevertheless, still have a really good field,
and you've got a great leaderboard going into the final round
with Jon Rahm having the lead.
You've got Tyrrell Hatton right up there.
You've got Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott up there.
You've got a number of great players
who are looking to compete for this title.
It's a $9 million purse this week.
1.53 million dollars goes to the winner.
It's actually about a $10,000 difference from last
year. The second place finisher gets just shy of a million dollars,
$990,000 to second place
if they finish alone in second. So a pretty good week regardless.
If you finish kind of in the top five out
of the 70 in this field here this week.
The bottom number, if you finish in 70th place, is $17,100.
You get guaranteed points in terms of the Race to Dubai standings.
The winner is going to get 1,500 Race to Dubai points.
There's 9,000 available in the pool this week.
There'll be 10,000 available next week
in the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai to close out the season.
But this week, this tournament pays out like a normal
DP World Tour event with about 17% of the money going to first place
and then going down from
there. Most DP World Tour events have their payout based
on top 65 players making the cut exactly on
the number and then they add to it if more players make the cut.
They do not do that here because
they have a set number to compete at the start of the week.
There is no cut, so as long as you
qualify, you're going to get some piece of that money,
whether it's official or unofficial,
finish all four rounds, but then after this week.
Top 50 players in the Race to Dubai standings.
Through the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship,
we'll qualify for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.
$10 million purse, $3 million to the winner,
and then the other 49 players will get their share
of a $7 million purse for the B-Flight, effectively.
There'll also be an $8 million DP World Tour Race
to Dubai prize money pool that goes out to the top 10 finishers
in the standings at the end of the year.
So if you win the DP World Tour Championship next week and you wind up
winning the Race to Dubai, you can make $5 million in a single week.
to close the DP World Tour season.
