The 2026 Toto Japan Classic winner's share is a big LPGA payday
Nov 8, 2026
On Sunday in Japan, Saturday night here in the United States, the final
event of the Fall Asian Swing on the LPGA Tour is going to wrap up.
And the winner of the Toto Japan Classic is going
to take home a pretty sizable chunk of money.
I'm Ryan Ballingee with Golf News Net here to look at the purse
and the winner's share of the prize money payout.
For the Toto Japan Classic played in Japan,
it's the only LPGA event in Japan.
It's co-sanctioned with the JLPGA, which is great unto itself.
This is a $2.1 million purse, so it's a lot of money for the JLPGA,
but it's not a whole lot of money compared
to last week's $3 million purse for the Maybank Championship.
played in Malaysia, which was won by Japanese star
and prolific winner this year, Miyu Yamashita,
who's looking for a sixth win on the year,
third win in as many starts between the LPGA and Ladies European Tours,
third consecutive win in Asia for Yamashita if she wins on Sunday.
But Aki Iwai, also from Japan, has control going into the final round.
A number of players are kind of right in there around that,
anywhere from 11 to 15 under par, which is the lead.
Heading into the final round,
most of the top of the leaderboard is dominated by Asian-born players,
especially Japanese players
in their home country competing in this tournament.
The LPGA pays out 15% of the purse to the winner,
so whoever winds up coming out of that
A cohort of players is going to get $315,000
for their efforts this week.
There was no cut made to the top 65 and ties.
This is a 78-player field.
If you qualify, you get money regardless.
This is the last event of the Fall Asian Swing on the LPGA Tour.
They're going to head straight back to America.
So if you played this week, you're probably not playing next week,
or you're going to play on relatively crummy rest.
But there's two final events to end the season.
First, you'll have the Annika driven by Gainbridge
at Pelican down in the Tampa Bay area.
And then they'll move within the state a little bit
to Naples to play the CME Group Tour Championship.
That is where the top 60 players in the race
of the CME Globe after next week will get to compete
for the biggest single tournament prize payout in women's golf.
The winner of that tournament just got to be in the top 60 to qualify.
If you win, you win the race to the CME Globe and you win $4 million.
in a single setting,
so a little bit more than 10 times what you would earn here this week,
closer to 13 times what you would earn this week as a champion.
After the Annika, we will also determine
the top 100 players in the race to the CME Globe.
Those players will keep their LPGA Tour playing privileges
and full status going into 2027.
So some important weeks coming up here on the LPGA,
but business to be decided Sunday in Japan,
and a big check going to the winner of the Toto Japan Classic.
