The 2026 World Wide Technology Championship winner's share is a lot of money
Nov 8, 2026
On Sunday, the Tiger Woods designed El Cardinal course
at Diamante Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico.
We're going to determine the second of consecutive PGA Tour winners
in Mexico, straight across the country.
And the winner of that tournament is going to win the exact same amount
as the person who won last week at Vidanta Vallarta, Andrew Novak.
I'm Ryan Bellinger with Golf News Network.
We're looking at the prize money payout
and the winner's share of the purse
for the Worldwide Technology Championship played once again this year
at that Tiger Woods Design El Cardinal course.
Ben James has a four-shot lead going into the final round.
As he seeks his first PGA Tour win,
he is trying to win the winner's share,
18% of a $6 million purse in the fall
of the last couple of seasons, the PGA Tour.
That's kind of more or less standardized purses, the early portion.
Starting with Asheville, you have the $5 million purse,
then you get to like a $6 million purse for the predominant portion
of the fall events, with the exception of the Bay Current Championship.
That's the event in Japan. That's its own thing.
It's a separate, no-cut event.
But $6 million is kind of the standard purse for most of the fall.
The only exception is going to be the fall-ending RSM Classic
that has a $7 million purse.
So the winner this week is going to get 18%,
just like almost every other PGA Tour event is.
And that winner is going to get $1,080,000 for their effort.
So they're going to get 500 FedExCup fall points for their effort,
unless they're already in the top 50.
from the regular standard FedEx Cup season
then they're not going to get any additional points
can't move up from the top 50. they're set they're locked
into every signature event
to basically get into everything next year shy
of the major championships
But for the players who are still trying
to get either into positions 51 through 60
in the FedExCup fall standings to get
the first two signature events of next season,
or you're just trying to get in that top 100
to keep your PGA Tour status for 2027,
this is an important week for points.
Money certainly doesn't hurt things.
Money's going to always be a good thing,
including for a guy like Blades Brown,
who already has a PGA Tour card locked up
for next season through the Corn Fairy Tour.
He can't earn any FedExCup fall points, but he can earn some money.
And if he continues to move up the leaderboard,
he'll get a nice payoff.
on Sunday. May not win, he's going to be way behind,
but for someone like Ben James and perhaps for Brian Gerard
or Chris Kirk, the two closest pursuers, one of them is going
to walk away with a big old novelty check for $1,080,000.
