Friday washout: Up to 6 inches of rain could bring flooding to parts of Massachusetts

We want to put this weather alert on Friday on your radar for areas of heavy rain and localized flooding. I am most concerned about these leaves being on top of the storm drain. So I want you to make sure on your property, on your street, those storm drains are nice and clear so that water has a clear path. Especially in southeastern Mass, where you can see we have that elevated risk for flash flooding tomorrow. That is where we're expecting. Two to four, maybe up to six inches of rain, depending on how downpours track closer to Boston, one to two inches. Totals do go down north and west of the city, but it still looks like a substantial amount of rain. When you wake up tomorrow morning, we've got some isolated downpours, but there's a lot more colors as we get into the middle of the day, afternoon, evening, because that's when we have our best shot for just areas and times of heavy rain. This would involve some. Embedded downpours and thunderstorms into the Friday evening commute. I'll warn you now, if you're traveling at lunchtime tomorrow, it looks pretty messy as well. And this goes until early Saturday morning. A lot of Saturday is dry and cloudy. Final push of rain comes through Saturday night into first thing Sunday morning. And then Sunday actually clears out but cools down. So seven-day forecast for the weekend always in view. Has highs in the 60s tomorrow and Saturday. 50s return starting Sunday.
