And of course, meteorologist Sean Dawson is keeping a close eye
so that he can tell you what's going on.
He joins us live right now.
Okay, do tell.
Is that Darlene?
Is that Darlene behind you driving?
Maybe so. Those clouds look terrible. I've heard it is, Darlene, yes.
Okay, she texted me. She said, I'm up at the Waller Buc-ee's,
and should I turn around and go back?
And I was like, yeah, I think that's the best idea.
Turn around. You've gone far enough.
She's looking for some of the rain.
Going to safely navigate through that,
both ends on the wheel with the dash cam.
Let's switch and take a look now
at the radar, though, what we're looking at.
That Cypress area is where we're seeing some
of the heavier downpours right now on 290.
And going to continue to see that moving through.
There's kind of a broken line.
It's not like very well defined.
It's kind of broken a little bit.
As far as this front pushing on the rain through.
We've already seen it move through Huntsville.
Still impacting parts of Lake Livingston.
Belleville underneath the heavy downpour right now.
Seeley about to get involved.
Brookshire, Katy, you're all coming up next as well.
Everything so far has been.
Pretty manageable. We're going to plan to keep it that way,
but also be prepared if things get a little bit stronger.
We've got some severe weather potential further to our north
and our east. That's the darker green here.
This is a future cast showing how the timing of that might clear
as it moves through the rest of the afternoon.
And as far as the flooding possibilities, that is certainly
something we could see some short-term street flooding.
This, again, is the live radar, the Weather Prediction Center,
green shading there showing where there are one out
of four risk of potentially having some of that flooding,
that excessive rainfall, they call it.
So here's the futurecast bringing in the front much more closer
into downtown Houston around the 2 to 3 o'clock time frame.
And then as we continue to move this through,
I think by the time we get to around sunset, we've got that front.
off of the coast and so definitely your commute home
in the evening could be impacted if you're in the southern portions
of the viewing area. So 288 Gulf Freeway, something like that.
But then get ready for a fantastic day tomorrow.
It's going to start off clear
and cool in the morning, maybe a little breezy.
But then the afternoon also going to bring us some sunshine.
And again, going to be a fantastic looking day.
So we got to get past the rain today for sure.
And then we're going to have a fantastic day Wednesday.
A couple smaller sort of disturbances
or systems move through on Thursday.
And then over the weekend,
that's why those rain chances bump back up again.
But Melissa, I like to be able to see
these temperatures holding steady.
We're just going to keep it in the 70s in the afternoon
and those mornings in the 50s.
This is how I like to do November.
Yes, it's exactly how we like it, J.D.
All right. Thank you so much.
