Elon Musk Jokes About ‘Space Lasers’ After Republicans Suffer Historic Midterm Defeat | News18

Elon Musk has responded to the Republican losses in the 2026 US midterm elections with a sarcastic post on X, joking: “Guess my election-interfering space lasers didn’t work this time 🤷‍♂️”

The billionaire’s remark comes after Democrats made major gains across the country and took control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Musk had publicly backed Republican candidates and spent heavily in the election cycle, making the results a setback for several campaigns he supported.

The “space lasers” line appears to be a tongue-in-cheek reference to online claims and conspiracy theories surrounding alleged election interference. It is not an admission of actual interference. Claims that Musk’s Starlink system was used to alter or manipulate vote counts in the 2024 US election were previously rejected by election officials and security experts, who said voting systems were not connected to the internet for tabulation.
