Talk more about Texas and I have eyes on Ken Paxton.
This is the governor's race,
which is historic. Greg Abbott conceding to the Democrat Gina Hinojosa.
A Democrat has not held the governorship there in Texas.
Last was in 1995, 91 to 95.
It has been that long.
In the Senate race, Paxton losing to Tallarico,
a Democrat has not won a Senate race in Texas since 1988
or any statewide race in more than three decades.
If that doesn't speak volumes, I'm not sure what does.
I have eyes on Ken Paxton speaking to his supporters.
Can we bring that up?
Can we take that?
Okay, we're going to take Ken Paxton talking to his supporters
and he just is wrapping
up his remarks.
So we're seeing it was a quick speech.
He was on stage for about three minutes
and that was and here he is walking through the
crowd.
Let's just listen
in and get a sense
of the room there.
Okay, so it is.
Really bad night so far for the Republicans, I'll just put it plainly.
We are waiting for a concession speech from the governor,
the former governor of, well, currently still the governor,
but will be replaced by the Democrat.
Greg Abbott. When that happens,
we will bring that to you live, or when Gina takes the stage,
Gina Hinojosa, we will bring that to you.
I'm understanding that we do have some sound
from Greg Abbott. Let's go ahead and bring that to you.
Also, I want you to know that before coming
up here right now,
after looking at all the details of every county in the entire state,
I made the decision to go ahead and call Gina Hinojosa
and congratulate her on winning
this race for governor of the state of Texas.
There are still votes to be counted, but mathematically,
we're not going to be able to win this election.
I let Gina know that I would assist
her and her team in a period of transition.
But I also want everybody to know.
The thing that I'm most proud about
is that you all helped me to be your governor for 12 years.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
Oh my God.
