You go back and you see, like, what the first six weeks looks like,
and then you go back and you see what you did good in the past
throughout different seasons and fit different schemes
and things that we've been good at.
And we've ran them all in my time with Coach Campbell,
but for us it was about simplifying things
and being able to let our guys play fast.
And on Tuesday I met with the whole
offense, and I told them, like, what?
I envisioned the run game looking like,
and this is what we were going to sink our teeth into.
And if anybody had a problem, you know, come and we'll talk about it.
If it's not something that you like.
I wanted them to just buy in more so to, like,
the mentality that it takes to run the ball.
Like, it doesn't matter necessarily what the calls are.
Like, yeah, we have to simplify it so those guys can play fast.
But, like, those guys have to be, you know,
excited and sprint to line of scrimmage
and understand, like, we don't care what it is.
Like, it's going to be physical.
It's going to be violent.
It's going to be downhill.
Like, it doesn't matter what the calls are.
Those guys have to have the mentality to go execute at a high level.
I wanted to more so instill that in the bye week
and make that a big deal into that week of practice.
And we went and we had a really,
really physical couple bye week practices.
It wasn't an off week for our guys.
It was going to be who the most physical and violent runners are,
who the most physical and violent blockers are,
and then we're going to go do that, hopefully.
When, you know, it comes time to do that because
we hadn't in weeks before that.
So it was more of a challenge mentally than it was physically.
Yeah.
So from a simplicity standpoint, like I wouldn't say we cut out
a whole bunch of different schemes necessarily.
But for us, like Coach Campbell does a good job of giving us.
A lot of Indy time and for me,
like I went to coach and I'm like, we're going to spend
the whole Indy time with this front seven
and we're just going to block double teams
for 20 straight minutes.
We don't need to do pass pro.
I don't need to throw the tight ends balls.
We're going to go and we're going to just hammer
these double teams versus different
looks as many different ways as we can for 20 straight minutes.
And we've done it every day through the bye week until today.
So like.
Not to say that we didn't have those kind of things before,
like we would get together, but it's like,
no, we're going to get together
and we're just going to freaking yell at these guys and get sweaty
and run our face into people for a long, long time
until these guys feel really good about what it looks like.
And with those three or four schemes that we did it,
different looks, over, under, there,
blitz, block it, rage, violence, water.
And we did that for two weeks.
