It's election day today.
Get out and vote.
I'm voting for Leo, director Leo.
That's right.
What is he running for?
Yeah.
Animal control.
Sweet.
Catch all squirrels and beavers.
And bunnies.
I don't like the bunnies.
You have against bunnies.
They're leaving their little raisins all over my sidewalk.
It's Jeff's platform.
2026.
Here
we
go.
A
good
day.
It came on a good day audience.
I'm in a great mood.
That's right.
I almost got into a fist fight earlier today.
That's right. So don't mess with me today.
I'm not lying. Yeah. Welcome to the old show, everybody.
First up, with Thanksgiving fast
approaching, the people at Butterball have
a new way to make your holidays go smoother.
Falun, listen to this. I'm ready.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you
the Butterball buddy right there. Yep. This is not a joke. No.
It's sort of like one of those GigaPets from the 90s,
but it assigns tasks to your Thanksgiving guests.
Like, for instance, Mary, Mary, time to start baking that pie.
Oh.
Al, time to serve up and clean up.
Falun, time to kick the guests out.
That's right.
Butterball, yeah.
Butterball is giving a limited number away online
for the next two Mondays.
Yeah, that's right, yeah.
Well, from turkey to mac and cheese,
Kraft are the good macaroni and cheese people.
You know, shells and cheese,
I lived off that in my 20s when I couldn't pay bills.
I just went to the gas station repeatedly
and just bought every package of that with my gas card.
Anyway, they're trying to make,
they're making something new for the holidays.
Okay, look at this.
New flavors.
One.
Chili crisp.
Okay.
I could be down with that.
A little spice to your cheesy noodles.
And the other, this is disgusting, cinnamon roll.
Oh.
It's described as creamy with a slightly tangy bite.
That's right.
You can find that at Walmart.
That's right.
I'm not going to even make a joke because they're probably a sponsor.
Today on the show.
The dancing is over for a fan favorite on Dancing with the Stars.
That's right.
And Stephanie Hansen kicks off our Thanksgiving countdown.
That's right.
I'm thankful for her every day.
It's Falun.
One, two, three.
Hello beautiful. Hello. How you doing? Good.
We had a, um, what's a group of turkeys called?
Uh, a gaggle. I think it's a gaggle of turkeys
because it's a murder of crows. Yeah. It's a
flamboyance of flamingos. And me, Jeff and Bjorn.
That's a flamboyance. They have taken over my
yard and Jake caught them today going to town on like our mulch beds.
How would you have handled it?
I'll tell you how my husband handled it.
Okay, wait, wait.
Okay, so you found wild turkeys.
Jake went outside.
Was he in his underwear?
Because sometimes he goes outside.
Okay, you only want to know that for personal reasons.
I know, and I just...
You have shown us a ring doorbell video.
Falun's husband likes to go out in his underwear.
Yes, he does.
Yeah.
By the way, Jeff just researched a flock.
It's either called a flock or a rafter of turkeys.
Okay, okay.
That's a group, yeah.
Yeah.
Look...
Or a gang.
Oh, wait, a gang or posse?
They were a gang, I can confirm.
Um, yeah.
Okay, so Jake goes out and he sees a gang of turkeys.
What would I do?
Okay. Yeah. So he, the cat noticed first.
We saw the cat looking out the window.
So he, of course, first videoed them so he could show me,
but then he let the dogs loose. I thought that was kind of crazy.
He let your dogs loose on the turkeys?
I wasn't concerned for the turkeys.
I was like, they'll kill our dogs. They're crazy. They did.
They have talons on their arms. They are like, they are like.
Prehistoric creatures out there. They've seen it all.
They'll cut you and I do not trust a turkey
But they everyone survived and he believes that he's like I don't
want them feeling comfortable because they'll destroy some stuff
So he let the dogs loose on them
crazy
I don't know about that, Jake.
Me neither.
I would have just videoed him, and I probably would
have thrown him a loaf of bread or something,
you know?
No, I would just go out there from a safe distance,
because I know, don't email me,
don't at me.
I know, I, when was this, 2013, I was on Good Morning America.
I ended up on Good Morning America, yeah,
because I was traveling from Colin's parents'
house, and there was a gang, flock, whatever.
A rafter of turkeys, and they looked like West Side Story.
They were all in a line, and I stopped,
and they wouldn't get out of the road.
So I rolled down my window, and I start recording,
because they literally were just lined up looking at me.
So I'm looking, and I'm like, move, and they wouldn't move.
So I rolled down my window, and I went like this.
Next one.
And one, the leader, the main one, flew at me,
like flew, like jumped at me, and I go
like this, I go, ah, I'm so masculine, and I went, ah!
And then I rolled up my window.
It ended up on Good Morning America.
I'm not joking because we were recording it.
And I screamed like Cindy Brady.
So then I played it.
And I remember on my radio show, people were emailing me.
I'll never forget this.
And they said, Jason.
You're a moron. And I said, well,
tell me something I don't know. And they said,
because some breeds of turkeys have like Wolverine claws on there
and they can just
cut you. Yeah. They can Freddy Krueger your ears.
I told you, I told you I had a feeling. Well,
he was like, Jake was like,
I just don't want him coming back, destroying all of our like
garden beds and feeling like two at home. And I was like, and yet.
I want them to feel welcome inside of our home.
You know what I mean?
Like, I want to welcome them inside the house.
Yeah, I don't know about that, Falun.
You lost me there.
I don't know.
All right, fine.
Yeah.
Speaking of houses, so...
What's what's what's happening? What's so we're decorating? Yeah, okay
We we started decorating on so we had we had a party on Halloween
and then the next day Colin
I woke up and I'm like bust out the music word.
It's Christmas time. Merry Christmas
So this is our first time decorating in our house
We used to be in a condo and I remember in the condo
your old boy Jason could decorate that thing in a night
There's one time Colin was on a trip
and I did the whole house by myself on one Sunday
Let me sing a little song for you.
The old gray mare, she ain't what she used to be.
I am exhausted.
We started decorating on Sunday.
We didn't get finished.
And yesterday, and it's real, if you guys
don't know, we're based in Minneapolis.
It's real gloomy here.
It's so weird right now.
The weather doesn't usually get to me, but it's getting to me.
I'm in a horrible mood.
Thus, I almost got into a fight.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
So I'm just in a horrible, horrible mood.
And so day two yesterday, I get home,
and we had not decorated the trees.
I had to go to Home Goods for some stuff and we get home
and Colin's all raring to go, you know, and he's like, let's decorate.
I got to tell you, I would have rather have ran
my face over barbed wire than decorate last night.
But I did it. I wanted to push through because he was right.
I just wanted to get it done.
Yeah, but.
I am just, I don't know if this was a good idea.
It's, well, it's because, so last year you were traveling.
I think it's good you're getting ahead of it this year
so you can enjoy it a little
bit before you do all your holiday travel.
And also, yeah, you haven't done it with your new house yet.
So I think it's a lot.
It's taking me a while.
But some years it is, it is weird.
Some years you're like all about it
and other years you're like, oh my gosh, it's just like
a headache.
And then also the gloom is,
it felt like 10 p.m. at five o'clock last night.
It did not help me.
No.
It did not.
And audience, isn't it?
Holiday decorating, it's something that you have to be in the mood for.
And if you're not in the mood, just don't do it.
And we tried to put Christmas music on.
I ended up getting mad at Amy Grant.
I'm like, I don't want to hear you right now, Amy Grant.
Not Amy.
And then, now, don't show it yet, Leo.
My mood rubbed off on the dogs
because I have a boxer and a French bulldog.
Look how unthrilled they looked last night with us decorating.
Look at that, yeah.
Yeah.
Milo was like, really?
Really, Milo's my boxer on the right.
Do we really have to decorate tonight?
They're at least
They're at least judging you with festive pillows.
Yeah, Milo enjoyed the new Ralph Lauren den pillow.
I'm trying to have a Ralph Lauren, Temu situation in my den.
Ralph Lauren on the cheap.
I just, that's what I'm.
I'll show you guys a photo when I get it done.
Next year. I don't know how long it's going
to take me, but yeah, it's crazy.
We did it in one day. It was just like, let's just get it over with.
Yeah, I didn't need that bragging.
I didn't need that today. I didn't need that.
One and done. One and done.
So you're going to have a system.
And you have child labor.
I do.
You have Olive.
Let me tell you something. That is not a cyst.
That just, that, I have to go back through
and try not to be like controlling and allow her to decorate
and not move everything she decorates to where I want it.
It's a practiced control.
I do that with Colin.
I mean, I just need to do that.
No, Colin decorated one tree last night.
He did a great job.
I didn't supervise it all because I wasn't in the mood.
I'm like, you can put fireworks on it.
I don't care.
Don't give Eric ideas.
Don't give Eric ideas.
We'll be right back with the hot dish.
Stay with us, everybody.
Hottest hot topics we could dig up.
We put them in the hot dish.
Coming up next, Justin Timberlake is doing a docuseries,
and he's going to talk about Janet Jackson?
Hmm.
Then, Megan Hilty, Broadway legend,
reveals the rudest celebrity that she had to deal with.
Oh.
Yeah.
And she's not rude.
Stephanie Hanson, host of Taste Buds,
is back with some Hanson hacks
to help you get ready for Thanksgiving dinner.
Yes, it's not too late.
That and more when we continue.
We'll be right back.
So much
happened
in that
commercial
break.
I went over, I was talking
to the audience about how much I spent at HomeGoods, and I
spent so much, Teresa, the cashier,
looked at me and she goes, would you like to apply
for the HomeGoods credit card?
And I went, why?
And she goes, it'll save you $60.
And I went, Teresa, how much is my bill?
And then I passed out at the HomeGoods.
And then executive producer Jeff, who plays music during
the commercial breaks, he played the most depressing song.
Not only did he play the most depressing song,
he said he won his high school lip sync contest, too.
Yeah, leader of the pack.
And then he's like, oh, this is where the person dies.
I'm like, what?
And then Aaron shuffled to it.
I know.
Anyway, let's get back to the show.
It's time for the hot dish.
Roll it, Leo.
Here I go.
Let's do some hot topics before the audience leaves.
First up, dancing comes earlier this week
as Dancing with the Stars move to Monday because,
hello, election day.
Three dancers are starting to pull away
while a fan favorite is sent home.
But first, well, I should say, first up,
another perfect score for Harry Shum Jr.
This is a good score.
Oh, this is such a, this is such a good dance.
He's really good and it's very hard.
I, not that I've ever danced to it, but yeah.
I was going to say, yeah, tell me about your time dancing to it.
No, I'm just saying it's a very hard dance to do.
That's right.
That's a jazz routine.
It was Disney night and he got 40 out of 40 for that.
Wow.
Okay.
Did you watch?
Cause it was Disney night.
Of course it did.
Yeah.
There's a great clip y'all.
Go look on the YouTube.
There's a great clip.
I watch it when I'm in a bad mood.
So maybe I'll watch it today.
Yeah.
There's a great clip of Dick Van Dyke a couple years ago.
It was during the Emmys or something.
And Derek Hough was doing that routine,
and Dick Van Dyke surprises the audience at like
99, or like 90, and does the dance routine.
It's joyous.
Anyway, Harry wasn't the only perfect scorer of the night.
Actress turned and trained dancer Jenna Dewan
also got a 40 for her quick step.
That's nice.
I mean, that's nice.
It was.
Yeah.
Now, we're not done.
Don't count out Paralympian Ezra Freck.
He scored high, high again with his samba.
Unbelievable. Ezra got 37 out of 40 and with only eight stars left,
one familiar face danced
her final dance. Juliet Stiles was sent home.
Bye-bye, Julia. Peace out, home slice. The show
returns to Tuesday next week over there on ABC.
You know, I think she had kind of an interesting
run. It was kind of a rocky start, I feel like, for her. Then it got
Better. She was definitely taking it.
I feel like she outwardly was showing the emotion a lot more than maybe
some of the other contestants about how much it was affecting her.
And then she had the great week with like
the nostalgia week where she did her tribute to Heath.
And yeah, I feel like she had a good run. Next.
This is a little surprising. Yeah. Next to the dish.
Justin tells all.
So it's been a quiet few years for Justin Timberlake
since the disappointing release of his last album in 2024.
But that is about to change.
Because look at this headline from Variety.
Justin Timberlake to release four-part tell-all docuseries on Apple TV.
And it sounds like he and the team are not holding back.
Reports are the series will feature...
An interview with Janet Jackson discussing
the legendary wardrobe malfunction scandal
from the 2004 Super Bowl halftime performance.
Many, many, many people have criticized Justin
for not taking any of the blame
while right after that, Janet's career plummeted.
It really suffered.
And then, you know, Justin was like, oh, I'm going to release this
and went on to have a huge career.
This series is set to start streaming.
In December.
Well, I mean, considering they're involved,
I like that in one aspect, I like that they're involved, right?
So it's not just like a TMZ where they just put made-up stuff.
But I also, you know,
my radar is up when you are involved in your own tell-all that it's...
The point of it is to make you look better
because he has had a really bad run for a
few years, way past the Janet Jackson of it all.
The Britney memoir coming out,
then also obviously the scandal with him canoodling with a co-star
while Jessica Biel was pregnant, the DUI,
there have been various things that have happened
that have not looked good.
So I do think he probably needs to do something,
but when he's in charge of it, I'm like, how
real is, and we'll even cover those things.
I've always said you should never be in charge of your own biopic
and you can extend that to the docuseries because you're
the human instinct is to protect yourself and you're going to put out
your best foot forward and how how honest you're going to be.
I will say, though, I would love to get Jimmy Jam back
because I would love to ask him.
I am shooketh.
That Janet is participating.
Well, I am really surprised that Janet is participating.
Are they still saying it was a wardrobe malfunction?
Or have either of them ever just admitted that it wasn't?
It was on purpose, clearly.
There's been conflicting stories over the years.
I remember Janet went on Oprah
in Oprah's final season and said one version.
But I didn't think there was any love between those two,
especially with Janet.
I didn't think that Janet had any.
Any motivation to repair things with Justin?
Well, money motivates people,
so maybe she's getting paid really well to be a part of it.
Maybe that, yeah.
Maybe that.
Next in the dish.
Try not to shed a tear over our next story.
Yeah.
It's over between 74-year-old legendary football coach Bill Belichick
and his 25-year-old
girlfriend, Jordan Hudson.
I know, audience, I know.
If Jeff's music in the break didn't depress you, this will.
Yeah.
TMZ first reported the news,
saying the couple broke up late last year, but they kept it quiet.
They started dating in 2023.
Belichick got a little testy at a news conference yesterday
when he was asked about the news,
saying he's going to keep his private life private,
even though he posted about it on Instagram.
Anyway, I'm sorry.
Anyway, back to the teleprompter.
In honor of the couple, Falun, in honor of the couple, hold my hand.
In honor of the couple, we want to look back at happier times.
Like when Jordan, that's right, like when Jordan shared this,
doing yoga poses on the beach in 2025, that's right.
Remember this, Falun?
These were the happier times with the couple.
Never, ever forget these happier times.
It's like Brad and Jen all over again.
I don't know how I'm going to move on.
I just, I mean, could they have waited until after Election Day?
I mean, you know what I mean?
We're already stressed.
Now we have to worry about this now, too.
I don't know.
Also, how did nobody piece that together?
They broke up late last year?
Yeah.
Has she not posted a single yoga pose with him in a year?
I know.
They haven't gone to any uncomfortable cooking classes or anything?
There's no business part.
Oh, they're still business partners.
Oh, that's interesting.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm sure that'll last a long time.
Yeah, that would, yeah, yeah.
Next, there are days when many of us lose faith in humanity.
Huh.
Huh.
This could be one of those days, but a new documentary coming
to Netflix will remind us all, all kidding aside, this,
come back to the TV, this is, come back to the TV, this will remind you
that there are still a lot of great people in the world.
This thing follows a woman in Florida who worked a drive-thru audience,
a drive-thru, for 37 years,
and it follows her as she prepares to retire.
Watch this.
Started working at Max Drive-Thru in 1987.
She knows every customer.
She knows their background.
She knows their children.
Serve my babies well.
Your babies.
They grown now.
A lot of people don't know my story.
My sister and niece, they're kids.
They weren't able to take care of them.
So I raised all five girls as my own.
She always has a smile on her face.
And I know every day is not a great day.
So Friday,
every single dollar that comes through here,
We're going to give to her as a retirement gift.
She live on the city out, baby.
How long have you been in line?
Almost three hours.
We won't miss it for the world
We're doing something positive to help all of us.
Well, that about killed me.
That about killed me right there.
Oh, the whole place is crying now.
Thanks, Jeff.
Yeah, thanks for that one, Jeff.
That was great.
Guys, it's called One Last Order.
It starts streaming on November 24th.
If you missed it, the owner there, make sure you catch that.
The owner said all of the money taken
in on her final day is going to be given to her.
That is fantastic.
Man, you hear about families like that where
the oldest has to take care of all their siblings.
Yeah.
It's, you can't imagine how that was for her life
and amazing that she stepped up and did that for
them. Not only that, there's that,
there's so many aspects to this that I can't wait to watch and
unravel in this era now where people don't really,
it's not a thing to stay at jobs a long time. You
know, uh, younger folks move around
a lot for a variety of reasons for that.
For that angel to just stay at one place,
one company for 37 years, that's fascinating.
Absolutely.
Oh, I cannot wait to watch it.
That's going to be good.
Thanks, Jeff, for that one.
Yeah, it's called One Last Order on Netflix.
Stephanie Hansen's coming up a little bit later,
but we have more Dish when we return.
Back in a moment, please.
Welcome back, reading a clock is easy, right?
Like a regular clock, I mean, it's easy for Gen Xers.
Well, not so fast though, Jimmy Kimmel proved that it's not easy for
everyone last night, you've got to see this, watch this.
We sent a team out to Hollywood Boulevard
to ask members of generations Y through
A simple question, that question is, can you set a clock?
What kind of people do you think still use these clocks?
Probably one's more of a brain, you know.
Probably some people that are a little more capable, you know.
What time does this clock say?
12.54.
Can you set this clock for me?
I'm not going to lie, I'm not good with my times table.
Okay, with your times table?
Yeah.
That shouldn't come up.
What time does it say right now?
Yeah, like, that's like 4:30.
That's 4:30?
Yeah.
Well, how did you get there?
I got there because I looked at the 3 and the 10.
Okay.
And, like, I figured because if you put the 3 over here,
if you put the small one at the 12, it would make it 3 o'clock.
Okay.
So then you said it was 4...
4.30.
4.30.
And what time is it?
Okay, wait.
Chad, can you send me a picture of how to tell time on this clock?
Oh!
Oh!
Wait a minute.
Wait a minute!
I'm like Dr. Strange.
What do you mean?
And you just set it?
I can't. I cannot.
I mean, I guess they don't have to be able to do that anymore.
It's just so crazy.
You wouldn't just put some, like,
look at the numbers and just, you know, throw it together.
I mean, I get it.
It's things that we just know.
I bet, I think he's done this.
I bet if you took those same people,
they wouldn't know how to use a phone booth.
Yeah.
Think about it.
I mean, they would not know what to do.
They don't know what to do with a rotary phone.
They would.
I bet you they wouldn't know how to address an envelope
or write a check either, because
those are like just things you just don't have to do.
Writing a check.
Oh, I don't know.
I forgot how to write a check.
I don't know how to do it anymore.
That's fair.
I still write checks occasionally.
Do you?
Well, certain people or places only accept checks still.
It's so strange.
I am not joking, and I probably shouldn't say this out loud,
but I'm going to because I'm just in that kind of mood today.
I have a checkbook so old.
How old is it?
I didn't know.
Four addresses ago.
I'm not joking.
It is from, I live in a town called Plymouth.
It is so old.
I lived in Plymouth before, like in 06.
My checks are from my old Plymouth address.
Circled around.
And I moved four times since then, yeah.
I should probably go to the bank.
I don't know, yeah.
Nah, they still work.
It's fine, yeah.
Save the money.
Up next, a little celebrity sausage, shade, not sausage.
That's it.
You hungry?
I said sausage.
I'm hungry.
Let me start again.
Next in the dish, a little celebrity shade, not sausage.
Broadway and TV, what is wrong with me today?
Broadway and TV star and my husband's favorite,
Megan Hilty, called out, called out The Rock
last night on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live.
She was asked about the rudest celebrity backstage moment
that she's ever had during a Broadway
show.
Watch.
Okay, I give him a pass,
I'm gonna say The Rock in Wicked in LA, because he didn't stay
for the second act.
No.
Yeah, I got him tickets.
I don't think he knew that you were supposed to stay.
Do you think he thought it was the end,
cuz that is quite a big ending to act one.
Yeah, I'm gonna say it was a misunderstanding
because I love him so very much.
Yes.
I was just really looking forward to meeting him.
Yes, okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's a little tacky.
Yeah.
Well, my question, I would say, did he have his kids with him?
Maybe, sometimes I tell Olive,
the show is over at intermission, so we can go home early.
You know what I mean?
I have lied to my daughter many times about that.
So many things I want to say about this.
First, hot take, I think, and Colin has made me realize this,
I think Megan Hilty is the
best Glinda.
Period.
Even better than Kristin Chenoweth.
Okay, next thing.
Oh, this is one, and you said this about me,
and let me return the favor, let me return
the compliment to you.
You and I, we are, you know what I'm going to say.
We are such good event goers together,
because you and I have the same rhythm, and when you
want to leave some place, I will be right with you.
We have left a show together at intermission,
and I was so afraid, because I wanted to go
home, and I looked at Cal, and I go.
Can we go home?
And I was like, yes, yes.
Please, God.
Let's go.
It's not that the event's bad.
It's just that I'm old.
No, we were tired.
And their seats were so small.
They're not made for current hips, you know?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I just need some venues to update their seating for my hips.
Yeah, I know.
Our bottoms are bigger now.
Yours isn't.
Yours is tiny.
No, but no, yours is as well.
But that's one of the things I love about you
is when we looked at each other, I was like, that's my girl.
We can go anytime.
Can we leave it intermission?
You're like, yes, thank you.
Let's get out of here.
When we come back after this.
This intermission, Stephanie Hansen.
We'll be right back.
Back in a moment.
But don't go anywhere.
What?
But don't go anywhere.
But don't go anywhere, yeah.
Okay, this is going to be,
you're not going to believe this,
but Thanksgiving.
It's just three weeks away.
Can you believe that?
So it's not too early to start planning out that menu.
There's everything.
You've got to worry about your sides.
You've got to worry about cocktails, especially if I'm coming over.
And then tablescapes.
You've got to worry about the main course.
A few tips and hacks can really help you
and your whole day go smoothly.
Here with more, give it up for our foodie
queen and the host of Taste Buds,
the Emmy Award-winning Stephanie Hansen.
These are our...
I love you do this series occasionally on here.
I know you do it on your program.
That's Hanson Hacks.
So shall we start?
Yes, we shall because we went right from,
you leave Crocktober and you go right into
the holiday season of cooking.
That's right.
Is it crazy?
I mean, you're having a little angst about the decorating.
See, I'm a purist.
I don't do anything for Christmas until the day after the feast
because I want the feast
to have its full glory.
I get it.
My, it's because I'm not hosting Thanksgiving
and I'm leaving literally on Christmas.
So I want to enjoy all this effort
and spending all that money at HomeGoods.
I want to enjoy it.
Okay.
Here's our first Hanson hack: assigning dishes for guests.
Okay.
So I, I don't want to have a potluck
and you just bring your random stuff.
I want to tell you what to bring.
So if I tell you to bring green bean casserole or I tell you to bring,
you know, a squash
gratin, that's what I want you to bring.
So if you have specific ideas about what you want
on your table, now is the time.
You seem sheepish about this.
Do you feel like you're being bossy?
A little bit because I know like some people have,
you know, Grandma Carol's favorite thing,
but I want my table how I want it.
Now, to be clear, I don't allow people to bring anything to my house.
I barely, like, I don't potluck.
Good Lord, Kim Jong-un.
I'm going to just make all the stuff for you, and you just come.
It's not that kind of a day.
But if you are planning a potluck,
tell the people what you want them to make.
Okay, Stalin, where are we going next?
I know, it's great.
My goodness.
Okay, I also just found out.
Welcome to Stephanie's communist Thanksgiving.
Dibbing!
I just found out.
Can you imagine if Aunt Shirley walks in with a casserole dish?
I can imagine the face you would give her.
Get out, Shirley!
No, I just found out from the audience that...
No, I don't blame you.
I asked if anyone's mom didn't make it to the Thanksgiving table
because she had had a nervous
breakdown by then. Yeah. And no one said yes other than me.
Yeah, I get it. Number two, Hanson hack,
check your pantry, buy shelf stable items when they're on sale.
What do you mean by this? Yeah,
right now, like you can get pumpkin filling on sale,
the flour, the sugar, a lot of the things
that you're gonna need for holiday baking are on sale now.
So stock up. Okay. On that vein,
Our next Hanson hack.
Pick up silverware, dishes, glasses from Goodwill.
Yeah, any thrift.
It can be Goodwill, it can be anywhere.
I thrifted all of these ramekins throughout the course of the summer.
You, right now, there's tons of platters, there's pie dishes.
And what I really like for people
to do is if you're going to bring a pie somewhere,
thrift the dish and then just leave it at the person's house.
Oh, that's a good idea.
Trying to like...
You know, take out half the pie and who's going to, you just leave it.
It was $2.99 and it's part of the gift.
That is a really good idea.
You're going to bring a casserole by the dish.
Let's talk, let's talk, let's talk the turkey.
Thank you.
Order reserve fresh turkey and how many pounds per guest?
You need to order your fresh turkeys now
so that your farmers can plan for that.
So now's the time.
You're frozen.
You can get all the way up until the day, but keep in mind it's frozen.
The number one mistake people made
is not to thaw their turkey soon enough.
You want about a pound and a half per person.
That's going to give you leftovers.
That's going to give you turkey sandwiches.
Um, people just make sure that you thaw the turkey.
People are so worried that they're going to like thaw it too soon.
You're not going to thaw it too soon.
Even if you start thawing your turkey.
I put it in like five days in advance.
Five days?
I put it in the refrigerator.
Yes.
Okay.
I want to make sure it is all the way thawed out.
That's a huge bird.
It is a big bird.
I make usually a 20 or 22 pound turkey.
I want.
There's a lot of leftovers.
Yeah, it's fine.
More hacks, and we're going to make one
of Stephanie's favorite holiday recipes when we return.
Back in a moment.
Stephanie Hansen, the host of Taste Buds.
Let's do just a few more hacks and let's get to your recipe, okay?
We can do both at the same time.
Okay, make pie dough.
You say this to us every year.
You know, I can hear people watching, though, going,
I'm not going to make pie dough.
It's too hard.
Well, then I have the recipe for you today
because we're going to make crustless pumpkin pie,
which is basically pumpkin pudding.
So you don't need the crust.
But if you're a pie maker, make the crust in advance.
Freeze them.
Take them out the day before, get them baked,
par-baked, or whatever you're doing,
and then you can have them be done the day before.
Speaking of that, you also have a list of things
that people should be freezing right now.
Cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and turkey stock?
Yeah, so you're going to want to make
your turkey stock early for your dressing, for your gravy.
You even can make your dressing now.
I actually did that on the show one year, and maybe I should do that.
You did.
Where you roast turkey parts and pieces so you get all the fats,
and then you make your roux,
and you make your broth, and you make your gravy,
and then you freeze that so it's all done
so you're not panicking at the last minute trying to make gravy.
Then, when you have all the fats
What's your favorite appetizer
to serve at Thanksgiving?
I don't like appetizers at Thanksgiving.
If I was going to have an appetizer, it would be like a little cheese.
It might be a little dip,
but I don't want you loading up on appetizers and everyone
in my family is laughing right now
because if they bring appetizers, I kind of get mad.
Before we sit down to the table.
It's beginning to look a lot like North Korea.
That's right.
Don't, I mean, come on.
No, I get it, no, I get it.
You're hosting.
You're putting a lot of effort into it.
These people need to listen to you.
That's right.
And if they don't, get out of my house.
When you come to my house, it's my rule.
That's right.
Okay, what are we making, love?
Okay, so pumpkin pie is basically evaporated milk and pumpkin.
Okay.
And then you're just going to season it up.
So I had this idea one year.
I wasn't good at pie crust for a very long time.
Now you're really good at it.
I'm good now, but there were so many years where I wasn't,
and it was so intimidating.
So I developed a way to do it without making crust.
I added a little ginger, some salt, a little cinnamon.
By the way, this recipe will be on stephaniesdish.com.
Don't worry about it.
Pumpkin pie spice and a little bit of clove.
Clove is the magic.
Now we're going to add a little bit of eggs.
Okay.
Whole egg?
Yeah, we're going to just put them.
I would normally do this with a hand blender,
but your Cuisinart or a blender works.
Okay.
I just, you know, got to bring what I can to the show.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So let's just put that in there.
Okay.
Now, this whole mixture is going to be real thin,
and you're going to be like, how is this going to work?
And the answer is...
So don't worry about it if it...
It's not, because I can't figure out how to close my food processor.
It's all right.
Oh, Lord.
Here we go.
So the answer is...
You're going to pour this.
I mean, it's literally like liquid.
Oh, yeah, that would freak me out.
And you'd be like, oh, this can't be working.
This isn't going to work.
No, it is going to work.
And what's interesting is because I just made this these last night
with some chunkly chunks in there is after 20 minutes.
If you open the oven, you're still going to be like,
they're just totally liquid.
This is not working.
And then in the next 10 minutes,
they completely firm up like the inside of pie would.
Oh, and you just top it then with whipped cream,
a little bit of ginger snap crumbs.
So you get that little bit of crunchy because you still want the crust.
You want the you want the texture of a crust,
but you just put the darn thing on top.
Yeah. So you just you don't need a water bath.
You know how a lot of custards you need like
a water. You didn't you'd need nothing.
May I eat one of these? Yeah, you may.
You literally just pour this in and put it on a sheet pan in your oven.
That's it. That's all you do.
And if you have, like, three people coming over,
just make a little, a bigger one, like a souffle.
You can make individuals.
Hanson.
Yeah, you can double, triple the recipe
if you have 25 people coming over.
Because you know what?
I wish more restaurants did this.
This is the size that I want of a dessert.
So I want to try a couple things.
Like, you could do this, like, little cheesecakes.
You could.
You know what I mean?
Yes.
You can try a little bit of everything.
I don't need no elephant-sized piece.
No.
No.
And it's also because by the time you get
to dessert, people are so full.
Like, this, you could also have them take home.
If you bought the ramekins.
Girl, this is real good.
Yeah.
Hanson.
I know.
Sometimes my stuff looks a little weird.
I know.
But this is a keeper.
This is a real solid recipe.
