To the polls for a Senate race that's coming down to the wire,
Republican Senator Darlene
Graham hopes to keep her late brother Lindsey Graham's seat
in Republican hands, while Democrat
Annie Andrews wants to flip it blue
for the first time in nearly 30 years.
Fox's Chelsea Torres is live in Mount Pleasant,
South Carolina, where people are casting their
vote this election day.
So, Chelsea, I know you've been speaking with voters.
What's the last that they've told you?
Hi, Alex. Well, a lot of voters this morning have
been telling me that they just want to see that
cost of living come down.
They say between the high prices and health care, these are the issues
that's really driving them to the polls.
The final Fox News Power rankings does show that the Senate
seat is also a toss up. And we know
with Republican candidate Darlene Graham, President Trump has
fully supported her throughout the campaign,
closing out October with two rallies in South
Carolina and telling voters to pretend he's on the ballot,
hoping it will drive Republicans to
We'll be right back.
Just before Election Day, Graham told voters she'll carry
on her late brother's legacy in the Senate,
but she also stayed on the attack,
taking aim at her Democratic challenger, Annie Andrews.
I'm telling you right now, my Democratic opponent,
she is not going to support the Second Amendment.
She is for these transgender surgeries and treatments for minors.
She believes in abortion up until the time the baby can feel pain,
and the list just goes on.
Meanwhile, Andrews says South Carolina is ready
for change in a final appeal to voters.
Andrews took some shots at her rival,
but she also focused on a message of bipartisanship,
saying she can work with both parties in Washington.
South Carolina will show the entire country
that we here proudly in South Carolina
finally figured out how to work together and move forward together
past this hyper-divisive, hyper-partisan era of politics.
Now, more than one million people voted early here in South Carolina.
That's already doubled in what they saw in the midterms of 2022.
Earlier, I talked to the Charleston County Board of Elections,
and they say that they've already seen an 8% increase of turnout
so far for Election Day voters.
And, Alex, no matter what happens with this Senate race today,
this will be the first time in South Carolina history
that the people here have voted for a woman senator.
Alex, back to you.
Wow. What a way to put that into perspective for us.
Chelsea, thank you.
