Hey everyone, it's Deja Yetmir from CrochetRaptor.com and today
I'm doing a review on some Malabrigo yarn.
It's one of my favorite wool yarns.
It's pretty much available at just about every local yarn shop.
It's a pretty popular brand and it's because it's so soft.
It's such a soft merino yarn that
you can work with and the colors
are great. So you can see
this is an emerald, very bright.
It's a one-ply, so sometimes it can be a little difficult to frog,
but I'm going to show you the project that I make up with it.
It's such a pretty yarn.
This one is a worsted weight, so they have lace weight,
they have lots of different weights.
It's worsted 210 yards and 100 grams.
It's, of course, hand-wash and dry flat because it's pure.
I'm going to go wind it up
and then I'm going to work on a project that's going to use both
So you can see the first project with the Malabrigo,
there you go, and you can see that the two
colors, the emerald, the kettle dyeing
of it gives it like variations
in the color but nothing that
is like pooling where it sticks out.
It just looks really good. It's nice and subtle throughout so
it's not really in your face um color changing but it's really pretty.
Because this is a one ply,
Every once in a while when you frog, this is what it looks like.
Every once in a while, when you frog, it will stick to itself.
But because it's really soft merino,
it doesn't seem like there's a lot of guard hairs in
it.
Guard hairs are the kind of scratchy part of wool,
and the part that gets caught a lot.
Spun pretty tightly for a one-ply,
and it does not stick too much to itself when you
frog it.
So you can use it on something that you might have to frog,
so you have to have your pattern
completely set out when you start.
I love this yarn.
I'm starting to gravitate towards it.
I'm going to be giving away a hank,
I have an extra hank I give away this month, so make
sure you head on to the blog
and turn to win that.
Have you used Malabrigo?
Tell me what you think about it,
what's your favorite color, do you like a certain weight?
This one's the worsted, I've also worked with the lace
and the lace works just as well.
But let me know below.
Thank you for watching!
