Hey everyone, it's Deja with Knit and Crochet Ever After
and today we are making this traveling
v-stitch is what I'm going to call it.
This swatch, it's a very simple two row repeat,
part of the two row repeat series.
It's very quick to memorize even though it looks pretty
I'm starting to speak now.
involved, it's really not.
It's very easy actually and both sides are very cool.
I like the back side of this a lot,
so it's got a really neat right side and wrong side,
so you can get the pattern down below.
Be sure to like and subscribe if you like getting
these free patterns, but let's get
started.
Okay, so to begin, we are going to do a multiple of 7 plus 2,
so depending on how wide you
want this, do it as a multiple of 7,
and then add 2 at the very end for our finishing edge.
So to begin we're going to start with our pattern repeat.
So it's going to be seven stitches kind of total.
So we're going, that's why it's multiple of seven,
so we're going to knit two.
Then we are going to knit two together,
losing a stitch there. We're going to
gain it back by doing a yarn over. Then we're going to slip this next
stitch purlwise. Easy peasy. Then we're going to do another
yarn over and then we're going to knit two together
So we got two decreases and two increases and we wind up with
seven stitches again. So again we're gonna knit two,
one, we're gonna knit two together,
we're gonna yarn over,
we're gonna slip one, we yarn over again,
knit two together, and our second repeat
is done. Last repeat because I did three,
we're gonna knit two, knit two together,
Yarn over.
Yarn over, knit two together, and then we have those last two stitches,
and we're mirroring what we did on the side,
which was the first two stitches were knit,
so we're gonna do two stitches of knit on the other end, even it out.
And that's our first
row of our two-row repeat.
So not too difficult, but you kind of got to keep
track of where you're at. The second row, super simple.
All we're doing is purling.
So we're just going to purl every stitch we come to.
Make sure you don't lose those yarn overs.
So see how it kind of wants to be weird
because we did those two yarn overs between the slip.
Make sure you're getting that slip stitch
before you get that other yarn over.
So that's the only thing to really pay attention to.
Don't accidentally pull one of your yarn overs
off of the needle because you will lose a stitch.
So it wants to pop out there.
So we want to get the
Slip first, and see, I just lost my yarn over.
So pay attention when you are doing these purls.
So we'll
do the row together one more time.
That one's a little bit more difficult than just purling.
So again, we've got our row three, which is really row one.
We're gonna knit two,
knit two together,
yarn over, slip, yarn over, two together.
So once you get it, you'll kind of memorize it
if you're working on it all together.
You know, it's not a difficult pattern
to memorize as long as you pay attention to what
you're doing.
When I talk at the same time, sometimes that's hard.
I might have totally missed something.
Hopefully not.
I think we are good here.
So I'm going to do some of these rows
so we get a whole swatch so you can see what it
looks like.
Off camera, so I will be back shortly
and show you what this looks like made up.
Okay, here is the finished swatch.
I would definitely recommend blocking it
because if it's just kind of laying there,
it doesn't look as best as it can
and you kind of want to spread it out
to be able to see those ridges that are made
because it's a really cool looking stitch.
You can see this is where we slipped
and we get this chain right up the middle
where the yarn on both sides of the yarn overs.
The backside is cool too.
I actually even though this was all purl on the back side
because of those different stitches you
get this really cool kind of look on this side
so I actually like both sides of this project they're
totally different but would make a cool scarf
because that is just I don't know I almost like
the wrong side better than the right side it's kind
of more interesting to me but that
That is your two row series.
