The Rangers just made multiple BIG changes...
Nov 3, 2026
Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe New York Rangers are struggling with a four-game losing streak and significant scoring and defensive issues. While the team recently revealed new \"hometown remix\" jerseys, the on-ice performance has been disappointing, leading Coach Mike Sullivan to implement several lineup changes and power-play adjustments to spark a turnaround.
We have multiple updates and changes
that the Rangers just made after a very disappointing
loss. But first, Fanatics has officially revealed
the Rangers hometown remix jerseys and the Rangers
went with a very classic look with the Lady Liberty hybrid look.
It's a navy diagonal New
York classic look. It looks fantastic.
And while the jerseys maybe aren't your cup of tea, maybe
not my cup of tea, a couple things on the jersey.
It's probably the best thing about the Rangers
Right now.
Because the team that's going to be wearing
these jerseys has lost six of their last seven games.
One win, five losses, one of those losses in overtime,
and they have now officially lost four in a row.
Last night was to the steamrolling Edmonton Oilers, 4-1 at home at MSG.
So what's next for the New York Rangers?
Well, they made some changes because they can't score,
they can't stop the puck,
and the lineup decisions are just all over the place.
But before we get into the lineup decisions
that they made heading into their next game tomorrow night,
a quick reminder to hit that subscribe button.

Let's start with the name of the game.
What we thought the Rangers were going
to be better at this year, which is simply putting
the puck in the back of the net.
Last night, the Rangers put up 28 shots on goal
and only had one goal to show for it.
Over the last seven games,
they've scored 18 goals and three of those nights they've
scored one or fewer, including a shutout, getting shut out in Columbus.
Mika Zibanejad has three goals on 30 shots this season.
That's about a 10% shooting percentage.
And the power play, which was supposed
to bail out this team, supposed to be a weapon.
I talked about it earlier in the season.
Right now, 18th in the NHL, about middle of the pack.
And even when they get good looks, nothing's giving right now.
Last night, the new look third line of Cooley, Labra, and Perreault.
I mean, Perreault had three really good looks himself
and nothing is going in right now.
When a team can't score, you can't give anything away for free.
And the Rangers, they have been giving away a lot recently.

Longtime partners of the channel,
allowing me to bring you guys daily updates on the New York Rangers.
And that is the Otis Edge.
Over the last seven games, the Rangers have allowed 32 goals.
That is about four and a half goals a game.
And they're putting themselves in holes early.
Four straight games,
they've given up at least two goals in the first period.
Part of this is obviously the man between the pipes.
Igor Shesterkin hasn't played since October 9th.
He's out for the season.
So Dylan Grant has started the last nine of 11 games that he's played.
He's four and six with an 897 save percentage.
As a team, this season,
the Rangers are stopping 88.3% of the shots that they face.
And after last night, and I've said it here on the channel,
It's not Dylan Grant's fault, but he was really hard on himself again.
He said, quote, I felt like I was overthinking a little bit there.
Honestly, I felt really,
really good in the second 30 minutes, but I thought my first
30 minutes were awful.
Honestly, inexcusable.
I let the guys down.
It's pretty disappointing.
I put that loss on me.
But it's not just his fault.
Some guys are getting absolutely walked.
And that brings me to Brayden Schneider.
This summer, the Rangers gave him a one-year deal worth $5.5 million.
Definitely a prove-it deal and something
that gives them flexibility to trade him at some point this season.
15 games into this season, he's never been known as an offensive guy.
But he has zero goals, two assists, and he's a minus two.
And he's playing over 17 and a half minutes a night.
And this isn't new with him.
All right, last season with Schneider on the ice at 5-5.
The Rangers got 43% of the expected goal share,
the worst of any of the Rangers' regular players.
And I'll say it, for the money that he's making,
for what he is to this team, I said it in the
summer, he's better suited in a third pairing,
but now I've changed my mind. It just isn't good
enough and whoever plays with him is feeling the effects.
And there was a guy who played last night
for the first time.
That could take those minutes, and he showed you
that he might actually be more effective in that role.
Scott Morrow played his first game
of the season last night on his 24th birthday.
He actually only got into the lineup
because Sean Durzi is dealing with an undisclosed injury,
which we'll get to later in this video.
15 minutes of ice time, three shots on goal,
he had an assist and a plus one on a night where the
Rangers lost by three goals.
He was reading so many different plays. He was jumping and passing
lanes. He just looked like he was energized
and he was ready for that spot. And the best
defenseman on the team definitely took notice of that.
Adam Fox said Scottie was great.
He was making plays confident with the puck.
It's not easy jumping in after his last game
was probably eight months ago.
So to stay ready is a testament to him.
I thought he was really good.
And I see a lot of people,
not necessarily just in the comment section of these videos,
but out there on social media saying it is time for Scott Morrow.
And after last night.
It might be time for Scott Morrow,
and it might be time to trade Braden Schneider.
When Durzi is healthy again,
because he's clearly dealing with something,
it probably shouldn't be Morrow that's going back up to the press box.
And speaking of making changes, at this morning's practice,
the Rangers started making some changes.
Sean Durzi wasn't on the ice again,
and the defense pairing started out the same as last night.
You had Gavrikov with Fox,
Pedersen with Schneider, and Schmitz with Morrow.
Up front, there is a couple big changes.
The big one, Will Cooley is moving to center,
a position he's never played before
between Tolvanen and Bjorkstrand on the third line.
And according to Molly Walker,
the 24-year-old, again, has never ever played center.
Mike Sullivan spoke out as to why he made this change.
And he said, I just feel like where we're at,
we need to affect a little bit of change.
He can skate, he has good size,
he can lean on people down low.
He's good in the face-off circle.
So that has Gabe Perreault now moving up to the second line
with Cartier and Miller.
Laba drops down to the fourth line
with Radish and Matt Rempe.
And Luke Glendening is now skating as an extra
after signing a one-year deal.
And Sullivan was pretty candid
about what he thinks about Noah Laba right now.
He said, I think Laba's game
has been a little bit of a mixed bag.
I guess the biggest point of contention
would just be consistency.
Laba's is a good player.
We rely on him for a lot.
But the biggest change, and one that people have been screaming for,
especially on social media, everything that I've been seeing,
is to change the power play.
Perreault is back on the top unit with Fox,
Zibanejad, Dorofeev, and Lafreniere.
So that means the captain, JT Miller, drops down to the second unit.
And with the power play literally stuck at 20%, it was time.
Give the kid the puck.
Give him some more ice time.
See what they can do.
I like this idea.
I like this unit a lot better.
And now the Rangers are 7-7-1.
15 points, 5th in the Metropolitan Division,
just 1 point back for 3rd with 67 games left in this season.
And you can't take this week lightly at all.
This is time to get back on track.
St. Louis on Tuesday, then Thursday the Flyers come to the Garden
and the New Jerseys come out.
The New Jerseys might not help,
but you need to catch up to New Jersey in the standings
and hopefully putting this new mix
of players together creates some type of spark.
So I want you to tell me.
The next game that they play, who should be in the lineup?
I think I know what Mike Sullivan's going to do.
He's going to leave Scott Morrow in the press box again
if Sean Dursey's back in the lineup.
But would you have Scott Morrow or Braden Schneider in the lineup?
Let me know down below.
Comment M for Morrow or S for Schneider.
But guys, my name is Darius Dominguez.
