Nearly a dozen people were sent to the hospital after
a serious crash Halloween night in Denton.
One of the cars was pushed into traffic and then struck by a semi.
Fox 4's Vanya Castillo has more on the investigation.
A total of 10 people were taken to the hospital after
a crash involving five vehicles, including a semi truck here in Denton.
As of now, it's not clear if there will be any charges, but police
are ruling out at least one potential cause. According to Denton,
this happened on Saturday night on Halloween at around 7:30 right
by Parker House haunted attractions on Highway 380.
Police say five vehicles were involved, including a semi.
When firefighters and officers arrived,
they found multiple people hurt.
Ten were taken to the hospital, two of them in critical condition.
I spoke with a woman who lives right
in front of where the crash happened.
She says that she and her husband had already been asleep
when they heard the loudest bang
she'd ever heard.
She went on to say that she heard people screaming
and crying so loudly that she was sure multiple
people had died, but was thankful to hear that no one had.
She says that she wishes there
was more traffic control around this haunted house to help
direct traffic, especially considering how dark the area is.
Several people in this area have raised concerns
about traffic backing up around the haunted
house.
We checked back in with Denton police today
who tell us that alcohol was not a factor.
Now, police say they're still investigating what happened,
but were not able to give us an update
on the status of the people who were hospitalized.
