Barack Obama just rushed to defend Ilhan Omar.
Cape on, chin up, very presidential. Small
problem though. His own administration investigated her first.
And no, this is not from some random
guy named Dale on Facebook. This is the New York Times, folks.
The New York Times. You know,
the same paper that spent years treating
this story like it was a right-wing sleepover ghost
story. Just reported that in 2016,
Barack Obama's own FBI and Homeland Security agents opened a file
on Ilhan Omar's 2009
marriage to a man suspected of being her brother
and found some evidence it was a sham.
And then, the clock ran out.
That's right, guys.
Out of time.
The file went in a drawer.
Somebody probably used it as a coaster.
Ilhan Omar denies everything, of course.
But picture this.
Black SUVs outside her Washington, D.C. home before sunrise.
Agents hauling boxes out left and right.
Grand jury subpoenas showing up at her relatives' houses like
the world's worst wedding invitations.
Oh yeah, this is bad.
Oh, and Obama at a podium calling it political.
Brave word from a guy whose whole team opened the file.
Meanwhile, down in Florida, Byron Donald's
48 hours from election day,
said the thing Washington treats like a foreign language.
If she's guilty, she's out. Nobody's above the law.
Not Omar, not Obama, not even the guy with
the Nobel Prize for showing up.
Oh, and Obama's big old comeback? He went after the Cheesecake
Factory. Not the border. Not your gas bill.
The Cheesecake Factory, guys. Home of the free
brown bread and a menu that's longer than the Affordable Care Act.
And honestly, easier to understand.
This is a bold strategy, guys.
Barack Obama.
Next week, he's taking on Olive Garden, for all we know.
Just please don't touch Carrabba's.
All right, so today, guys,
we're going to go ahead and open up the drawer,
the cover-up pattern, the blue state governors
that are playing hide-and-go-seek with ICE,
the arsonists applying to be fire chief,
everything that the evening news hoped that you'd take a nap through.
Well, guys, before we jump in,

So guys, picture an office in Minnesota.
Summer of 2016, Barack Obama's in the White House,
Hillary Clinton's picking out curtains for it,
and federal agents from the FBI and Homeland
Security are sitting at a desk with one folder.
The name on the label is Ilhan Omar. The question
inside, back in 2009,
did she marry a man suspected of being her brother so that she
could get a green card? That's the question. Now,
According to the New York Times, yes,
that New York Times, guys, those agents actually
found some evidence that the marriage was a sham.
Not proof, Omar denies it, but evidence found by Obama's own people.
So what happened next?
Handcuffs?
A big old press conference?
No, of course not.
The five-year deadline to bring charges had already run out.
Click, drawer shut.
Ten years later, that drawer flew right open.
And so now the guy who opened the file cabinet,
he's not having a good week.
The big investigation all began.
Under Barack Obama's watch, it was about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
Now the former president, Obama, is defending her.
He's going after the federal raid on Omar's home, calling it appalling.
But Fox News confirmed that during Obama's administration, his FBI...
...was actually investigating whether Omar committed marriage fraud.
That investigation did reportedly turn up evidence of fraud,
but the feds dropped it over concerns about potential charges
falling outside a five-year statute of limitations.
Just a couple of weeks ago, the former President Obama posted this.
Federal agents have raided her home,
confiscated personal records, and seized her phone,
all to try and uncover a non-existent smoking gun
from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Now, quick one, guys. If you want
this kind of breakdown on your commute,
the Ron Yates Report is on Spotify.
Search it, follow it, and take the truth on the road.
Gas not included. All right, guys, fast forward to this October.
President Donald Trump's
Justice Department's digging through Ilhan Omar,
and Barack Obama comes swooping in like a
Like a superhero who heard the bat say,
signal. I guess you kind of see it.
Anyway, you see where I'm going here.
Former President Obama is slamming,
speaking up and slamming the Trump administration's
investigation into Congresswoman Ilhan Omar,
calling the move appalling. Here's what President
Obama actually said, quote,
The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on
a law abiding elected official
because she has dared to criticize the president. And it's not
It's not the first time this has happened.
It was a week ago that federal officers
were seen searching the home of Ilhan Omar.
Sources have told CNN that the search is related
to an immigration fraud investigation.
And now, President Trump's border czar says
that Congresswoman Omar may even be stripped of her citizenship.
CNN's Caitlin Polance is in Washington watching this one.
Caitlin,
what's the latest that you're learning about this investigation?
Well, Kate, it's been a week since that search
of Representative Ilhan Omar's home in Washington,
D.C., authorized by a judge.
But the legal fight and the political fight are just beginning. There
is much more to come here.
We are already hearing from former President Barack Obama
rushing to Representative Omar's defense
and engaging with the allegation that we now know
through CNN and other outlets reporting.
What the Trump administration is investigating,
what they are investigating is the possibility
of immigration fraud several years ago,
specifically at the time when Representative Omar became
a citizen of this country in 2000,
whether she was 17, as she says she was at that time
after having been a child refugee from Somalia,
or was she 18 years old at the time she became
Thank you very much.
The administration now is trying to uncover
a non-existing smoking gun from 20 years ago to make this case.
He also writes that the fact that any president
or any administration is willing to engage in such transparent efforts
to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans,
regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar's political views.
Because if this is the new normal,
there's no reason to believe it will stop with her
or that future presidents in either party won't do the same.
He calls the whole thing political.
An attack.
A disgrace.
Beautiful speech.
Just one tiny little detail left out.
His administration actually opened the first
file. This is like a guy screaming at the cops for searching a house
when it was his own doorbell
camera that called them. So about a week later,
the New York Times printed the backstory and
Barack Obama's speech aged like milk
on a dashboard in a Florida parking lot. So here's
the question that Washington hates. What did Barack Obama
No. And when did he know it? And look around, folks.
Did Ilhan Omar think that Barack Obama
would protect her? Because
the Times itself described Democrats slowly backing away.
Barack Obama is on that stage almost alone at this point.
And that is not a shield. It's more
like a spotlight. Now, you know someone
who would trust the New York Times before they trust their
mother. Yeah, go ahead and send this to them.
Every word of it comes from the New York Times
Time's own reporting.
Let them go ahead and argue with their own favorite newspaper.
We'll grab the popcorn.
So October 12th, Washington, D.C., still dark outside,
black SUVs roll up to Ilhan Omar's front door,
federal agents step out,
and they have a warrant that's signed by a judge.
Not a hunch, not a tweet.
A warrant agents raid the home of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar
this morning. Now, this is the scene outside the home in the D.C. area.
DHS says the raid is, quote,
part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation.
And sources familiar with the matter tell CBS News
the investigation centers on Omar's immigration paperwork
that her late father filled out when she was a child.
The congresswoman represents Minnesota's fifth.
The operation began early this morning around 6 a.m.,
just about dawn time.
Agents in Homeland Security investigation vests seen outside
the home of Congresswoman Omar.
Now, this was a court-authorized search, so it was a judicial warrant
that was executed by HSI agents who were spotted there on the scene.
No indication of any specific charges.
Charges or even criminal wrongdoing at this time,
just an indication that agents on the scene wanted to search the home,
felt they might find some documents or evidence relevant
to this ongoing investigation. Now, Homeland Security investigations,
they are not, they were the investigative arm of ICE.
So these are not deportation agents.
These are not immigration enforcement agents
so much as they are looking into potential immigration fraud,
potential document fraud, the same individual.
who look at marriage fraud, that sort of thing.
But this is where federal agents executed their pre-dawn raid
here at the house of Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
It is not immediately clear what
those federal homeland security agents were looking for.
But the Department of Justice says it
is a federal criminal investigation.
They walk out carrying her phone, her computers, and her notebooks.
Reportedly, imagine your whole digital life going out
the door in a cardboard box.
Then the grand jury subpoenas start landing
on her relatives' doorsteps.
Nothing ruins Thanksgiving faster than, so, did they call you too?
Exactly.
No one wants to have that conversation.
Investigators are asking big questions.
Was her age right on the paperwork?
What about the 2009 marriage?
Even her name and birthday have been questioned for years. Ilhan Omar
says it's all political. She also moved out of the house,
saying the attention made her feel
unsafe. Meanwhile, the paperwork, oh, that's not moving anywhere.
Now, Benny Johnson asks
Byron Donalds the question that every congressman runs
from like it's a jury summons. If Ilhan Omar
is found guilty, would you vote to kick her out?
And Byron Donalds, he didn't dodge.
Served with Ilhan Omar, I think, for close to 10 years here.
You know, what's your take on all
this that the Justice Department is doing?
Well, first of all, I'm glad that the Justice Department
is finally getting to the bottom of this.
I mean, because everybody needs to be held accountable.
Nobody is going to be, nobody should be above the law.
Everybody needs to be held accountable. That's number one.
Number two, I find it to be very disrespectful
to the people of our country.
That if you know this is what your immigration background is,
coming into the United States,
and then still to be able to go and stand up and act as if you have
the abilities to represent everybody in Congress, I think that's wrong.
So I think Ilhan has a lot of explaining to do.
I'm glad that they're doing this investigation.
I think at the end of the day, what the American people want to see is
let's just make sure we're consistent with the application of the law
and that people are held accountable if they're violated,
even if they're a member of Congress.
If Ilhan Omar is found to be guilty of this,
do you think she should be deported and kicked out of Congress?
You'll be a Congress member still through like
a lame duck session no matter what happens.
Would you vote to deport her, to at least kick her out of Congress?
Yeah, I would because this stuff is disgusting.
It disrespects the body.
It disrespects the American people.
And look, this is not about politics.
It's not.
I think some people would be like, oh, you're
just saying that because she's a Democrat member.
No, I'm not.
This is about the sanctity of the House of Representatives.
And our constitutional framework, our republic.
And I know that the Democrats,
they don't care about our constitutional framework.
That's why you have these DSA
candidates that want our nation to look more like Europe.
They wanna abolish the Senate,
they wanna pack the courts.
I think it's important for people to understand
that this is not just about throwing stones at the end of a campaign.
This is about the future
of our republic, the future of the United States of America.
And you cannot have people
Who want to undermine
and undo the greatest republic man has ever known.
You have to hold everybody accountable to the same standard and
that standard is the United States Constitution.
He didn't say, great question. He just says, yes.
Because this is about the sanctity of the
house, not politics. It's the law.
Here's the catch. Expelling a member of Congress
takes a two-thirds vote.
So, if the evidence is real, we'll find out exactly how fast which
Democrats love the rules and which ones just love the team.
You miss a tax deadline, you get a
letter. You run a red light, you get a ticket.
You forget to return a library book, they'll hunt
I'm going to be honest with you, I'm not going to hunt you down
like you robbed a bank, but in Washington, nobody ever pays.
That ends when the law means the same thing for everybody.
Now, Byron Donald says that this isn't a one-time oops.
This is a pattern, clearly.
Same Obama team, he says, that spied on Donald Trump's campaign.
Same team that looked the other way on Joe Biden's family business.
It's the same team that shrugged
while Hillary Clinton had run classified emails through
a server in her house.
Her house, guys, right next to the laundry.
And so now, Democrats are running ads about Republican corruption.
This is like a fox giving a speech on henhouse safety.
With feathers in his teeth.
Now, according to Byron Donalds,
the Biden family was taking money from China and Ukraine.
And Obama's crew knew about Ilhan Omar and turned a blind eye.
This is not Benny Johnson saying that last part.
The New York Times.
Ouch. So then Byron Donalds drops the line of the night.
You cannot make the arsonist the
firefighter. So picture it.
A guy shows up to the fire station, gas can in one hand,
matches in the other, eyebrows singed off,
and he says, hi, I'd like to be fire chief.
That's the whole Democratic pitch this November.
Who lit the inflation fire? The guys asking you
to trust them with your wallet. Who lit the border fire?
The guys that are now promising
to fix the border. Donald says more than 10 million people got
in under Joe Biden. Look around
10 million sounds low, doesn't it?
Oh, and Alaska?
Donald says that the Democratic Senate nominee
was looking for ways to confuse voters.
Just go ahead and confuse the voters
in a state where the moose already outnumbered
the poll workers.
You don't hand the arsonists a hose, guys.
So now, Byron Donalds, he turns to the blue state governors.
Governors don't get to pick and choose which laws they like.
It's not a buffet.
The Constitution hands immigration, naturalization,
and deportation to the federal government.
Period.
So when a governor blocks ICE, Donald says that they're breaking
the law.
Breaking their oath.
Florida follows the law.
The Florida Attorney General
is even going after criminal illegal aliens caught voting.
It's a wild idea.
I know.
Only citizens vote.
So here's the part that the media tends to skip.
Real legal immigration, where people come the right way
and become Americans, protects
legal immigrants too.
What about New York City Mayor Mamdani playing hide-and-go-seek
with ICE? Oh, and while we're
asking, should breaking into the country be a felony?
Florida and Texas work with ICE. California
and Illinois fight it. So, which side is your state on?
Y'all let me know. Meanwhile, Barack
Obama is on a road trip. Georgia, then Georgia again.
Close enough to Florida to smell the
sunscreen. Oh, and who is he campaigning for?
Democratic Socialists, guys. The DSA crowd.
Byron Donald says these people want to abolish the Senate,
pack the Supreme Court and make
And make America look more like Europe.
Europe, really?
Yes.
Europe. You know, where the gas costs $9
and the air conditioning is considered a war crime.
Now, picture the campaign bus. Destination sign on the front. It says,
next stop, Brussels. Benny calls at the end of the stage.
The party that once said,
hope and change, now just says, hand it over.
Question is, whether anybody's buying the ticket.
And then, of course, Obama found the real enemy,
the Cheesecake Factory. Oh my God,
I can't even believe I'm telling you guys
this. The Cheesecake Factory, guys.
Taking a swipe at President Trump's new
White House ballroom, Barack Obama somehow
I heard the president was not happy
when I joked over the weekend
that he's got the
White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a cheesecake factory.
And listen, first of all, let me get
this on the record, I am the father of two daughters.
I could have survived their childhood without going
to the Cheesecake Factory.
I lived at Chuck E. Cheese
and California Pizza Kitchen and the Cheesecake.
Now, Benny wasn't having it, and I'm with Benny.
In his house and in my house, the Cheesecake
Factory is fine dining. Oh, that free brown bread?
Sacred. I am murdering it every time.
Byron Donald swears by the Louisiana chicken pasta.
Benny orders the Thai lettuce wraps
because his wife, Nurse Katie, keeps him healthy.
Very Make America Healthy again. Maha. For
me, I just recently tried the Thai chili shrimps.
Oh, my God. It's an appetizer, which I normally
Now, I want to go ahead
and talk about
the number that slaps
you every time you fill
America is drilling more oil than ever before,
record levels of oil, tanks full. So why does
the gas pump still feel like robbery with a receipt?
Donald says it's pretty simple. For
decades, Democrats blocked new refineries and pipelines.
Picture a giant pool of oil out in
the desert and no roads to your gas station.
Just pretty much a sign that says, thanks, Democrats.
Now, if we add Iran playing games
in the Strait of Hormuz, and then, of course,
the price jumps again.
So President Trump, he wants that fight finished and prices
Down for good. But you can't build a refinery overnight
when one party spent decades saying
no to them. Inflation, gas, groceries,
same fingerprints every single time.
And then there's the big one. Healthcare.
Remember this one, guys. Barack Obama,
he looked into the camera and promised,
if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.
You remember when Obama promised that?
How did that work out for you? Now,
think about your plan before Obamacare.
Same company, same little card in your wallet.
Is it better now or is it worse?
Yeah, me too.
Now, premiums shot up, deductibles went through the roof,
now you pay thousands before your
insurance even says hello,
and that's the Democrats' big fix for the mess they made?
Medicare for all.
Hmm, this is like a mechanic
who wrecked your car offering to fix it by taking everybody's
car.
No thanks, Barack.
We've already seen this movie.
So, here we are guys, 24 hours out and Donald's message is short.
Get out the vote.
Florida built something special.
Ron DeSantis showed America what a Florida governor can do.
Now, Byron Donalds wants the keys.
And people way beyond Florida are watching him. Even some
young Democrats are listening to this guy.
Imagine that, right? Michigan, North Carolina,
if you live there, this fight is yours too.
Don't sit it out. Already voted?
Drop a flag emoji in your state down below. Let's see how far
this goes. Oh, one more thing.
Whatever happens Tuesday, pray for this country. Pray for the
people who are serving it. Pray for the truth to come out
because it always does. Sometimes it sits
in a drawer for 10 years first,
but the truth always does eventually come out. Now, folks,
think about that file. Somebody found the evidence.
Somebody stamped it. Somebody
shoved it in the drawer.
And for 10 years, the people in charge hoped you'd never ask.
Well, we're asking now. And hey, guys,
if you'd rather hear this when you're stuck in traffic
The Ron Yates report is now on Spotify. Follow it.

radio reruns. And of course, if this video made you laugh,
made you mad, or made you want to call
