I'm producer Chris and coming up tonight we're

Nightmare plus a chance to see your favorite movie
for the first time, a second time. We're
going to explain all about that then later
in NBA Stars War on Shoes and why Jon Hamm
the actor from Mad Men hates nachos so much,
and whether or not you agree with him, those
are just some of the stories we're going
to talk about over the course of the next 30
minutes, and we want to hear from you on those topics and more,
and the easiest way to do
it.

We'll say hello to everyone
in the Zoom room coming up here in just a little bit.
We'll also say hello to our in-studio guest host.
You just saw him on the 7 o'clock version of Like It or Not.
He's the menopausal marine.
His name.
is Eric Rittmeier, and he is back joining us live this evening.
I'm going to hand you this.
You can stick that right in your pocket.
You can hang on to it.
Either way, that's how you'll be able to hear everyone.
I love it, brother.
Eric, thanks for joining us once again.
We appreciate it.
I get to invite, bro.
I'm B-less.
I mean, you invite me.
I know Tony P's A-less.
I'm B-less.
Tony P, he's already penciled in every Tuesday night.
That's why we call him Tony P Tuesday.
Tony P Tuesday.
Tony P Tuesday.
So when Eric's here.
Yeah, Menopausal Monday.
Someday.
Someday.
They're a menopause.
Menopausal Monday, exactly.
How's everything going?
I'm happy to be here, bro.
I love the studio, man.
How do you feel about the time change?
Dude, I'm like...
And it being dark at 4 p.m.
You know, I'm going to get some hate from this.
I like it this time of year.
Like, when it gets dark early, like, I'm cool with it calming down.
Just like, everything just like subtle and cool.
I like the dark early, man.
I don't have a major issue with it.
My hot take is just when we talk about like holiday lights
and we're not putting them up anytime soon.
I wish they stayed up through...
As long as it's dark early, those lights should be up.
So, like, it's okay with me if you want to start putting,
like, exterior lights on your house now.
It makes my drive home much more pleasant,
and I do feel like it just helps kind of keep everybody in a good mood
when things get dark a little bit earlier.
But, as I've said before, after spending years,
more than a decade, on the morning show,
I used to love when it got dark early because it was like,
all right, now I don't even need
to pretend like I should be doing something else.
Hunker down!
Go to sleep whenever you want. It was the best.
Give me a good snowstorm, too.
A good Thursday night snowstorm. I'm done. Yes.
Oh, man. The things that the news
business has killed the joy of for me.
Snowstorms is one of them. But, you know, I'm trying to.
Anyway, you ready to dive right in?
Let's go, bro.
All right. Let's do it. And we are going to start off tonight
with Halloween, the holiday we just celebrated.
We've made it to November, which means Halloween
is technically in our rearview mirror.
But for Martha Stewart, the nightmare continues.
And it's a PR nightmare.
And it's because of this picture.
She found herself in some hot water on social media
because of her so-called costume,
the millionaire lifestyle mogul,
posted a now-deleted photo dressed as a homeless person
carrying a cardboard sign that read,
I am hungry, help me.
TMZ posted the pic on their site.
Critics slammed it as tone-deaf
and mocking people experiencing homelessness.
Stewart initially claimed she meant
to raise awareness about homelessness.
Then she issued a second apology Sunday.
That's what you're looking at right there.
Admitting, quote, it's hard to admit when you've really screwed up.
My earlier statement didn't go far enough.
I know many people are suffering economically.
Wearing a costume like I did was insensitive and not funny.
I am very sorry.
Eric, it was Halloween.
Did she cross the line?
Yeah, this is silly.
I mean, you got somebody.
Well, she's probably darn near close to a billionaire.
Like, that's just not.
Tone deaf.
Like, hire somebody.
You're making enough money.
Hire somebody to not let you do something stupid.
That's just straight dumb.
That's a great point.
Somebody took that picture.
Somebody posted it on social media.
Somebody saw the backlash and got back to you and was like,
maybe we should not have done this type of a thing.
And, you know, we've joked about this a million times.
She could have worn that costume
and we would have never known about it.
But she posted it on social media.
And I understand everyone out there likes
to post a picture of their costumes.
And I know that times change and, you know,
things that people didn't necessarily think
they'd get in trouble for before.
Now, you know, society has changed and they're not a big fan of it.
But, you know, this is another reason
that stay off social media sometimes.
It's oblivion.
It's oblivion.
Wesley is in the Zoom room on this Monday night.
Wesley, the idea of Martha posting a joke about homelessness.
Do you think she went too far?
Martha, this was not a good thing.
Um, I don't know why she thought this was a good idea.
I, I, I, I have, I don't have money
and I don't think this is a good idea.
So if you have money, you should pay someone
and be like, hey, take a look at this.
You think someone's going to offend it?
And they'll be like, yeah, that's probably a terrible idea.
And then you can just say, I'm going to do it anyway.
And that would make more sense than the old, uh,
well, I didn't know it was going to offend anybody.
I'm not buying it, Martha.
I love you, but I'm not buying it.
Yeah, exactly. I think a lot of people feel that way, too.
They love Martha, but this was a tone deaf thing.
Allison, do you think she should sort of use this situation
to maybe put her money where her mouth is and make a donation
or actually raise awareness about homelessness as a result?
Yeah, 100% Chris. I have been homeless before.
It's like the worst feeling that you could ever
feel. You don't know what to do with your life.
It's so difficult. So what I think she needs to
do is go spend some time with some homeless people,
see how they actually live, give them
some food, like do some things for them.
And that would probably fix it a little bit.
Yeah. I think that's a great call on your part.
And I think she's got smart people around her.
She's got her whole team.
Make it right would be the right thing to do.
All right, now that Halloween is in the rearview mirror,
though, Christmas is right around the corner.
We were just talking.
I was just talking about the potential of holiday lights going up.
But let's talk about toys specifically, because these days,
most people in toy stores are not shopping for kids.
They're shopping for themselves, and they are adults.
Millennial and Gen Z adults are increasingly spending
their own money to rediscover the joy of Lego sets, stuffed animals.
and other classic toys you're seeing a train
a lego train set right there possibly according to
a recent analysis by the bank
of America Institute hobby spending rose 7.9 percent year over year
this past august from hobby shops to arts
and craft stores adults are proving that
you're never too old to play
but is this harmless nostalgia a way to relieve stress
Or are some of us simply refusing to grow up?
That's the question some analysts have.
Eric, adults outspending kids on toys.
Do you like this or not?
We should refuse to grow up.
Like, what's the sense of urgency?
I mean, this is awesome, right?
This is shifting away from being on the screen and scrolling through.
Go back to when I was a kid.
I'm an old head, right?
So it's like the board games, the Legos.
Why do we have to get old?
We have to get old.
And spending time with family
and doing things that don't involve a screen that...
Totally eliminates the need to interact with other people,
especially the ones that we love.
Let's go back to it.
Stay like a kid forever.
Are there any particular things
that you have found yourself kind of gravitating towards?
Do you have a collection of anything?
I love silence, Chris.
I know silence is not a board game.
It's not like Legos.
I love silence.
I like watching water.
I like looking at flames.
Like, when you get old, it starts.
It's called crystallized intelligence, right?
I love that.
I just love peace and quiet.
I love happiness.
I love deep, meaningful relationships.
I'm not a board game myself, but I love the concept of it.
Yeah, I mean, I do understand the need to go back
to sort of these physical things, too.
Because remember there was like
a time period where people were buying these, like, NFTs.
They were like...
Things you could never physically own,
you could never physically hold, but it was yours somehow.
And I think this is sort of a direct backlash to that as well.
The physical media, people liking vinyl, them liking CDs,
them liking actual books instead of the e-books.
I think this is just sort of a natural evolution of that.
And also, some of those things are really, really expensive,
and adults are the only ones who can afford them.
I mean, some of those Lego sets,
if you've ever seen out there, they are not cheap.
Billy's in the Zoom room on this Monday night.
Billy.
Adults spending more on toys for themselves than they are for kids.
Do you like this or not?
I know we've touched on this before.
Do you like this or not?
And are there any things that you collect yourself?
Well, I like records. I like vinyl records, and I don't think there's
a problem with adults still wanting to live out
their childhood experiences and buying toys and stuff like that,
because they even have a show that you build on the Legos.
It's like a TV show, and it's adults doing it,
so I don't have a problem with it.
Yeah, that airs right over on Fox 5,
as a matter of fact, Lego Masters with Will Arnett.
I'm sure it'll be back before you know it.
And there was actually, there was a local guy here
who was one of the contestants on that,
and he's been on our show before.
As well, Pinky Ring King, Pinky Ring King,
look at that gorgeous picture behind that man.
Look at that.
That is from last summer, last July.
That is my Twitter profile picture, as a matter of fact.
Look, I mean, that's how close I actually want to be to you.
Oh, my God.
It feels like you're watching from the back in the front.
It's a 4D experience.
I can almost smell you, that haunting, glorious aroma.
Hold on.
But it feels like you're watching.
I'm always watching.
Love the crib.
I'm always watching.
Pinky Ring King, the idea of adults shopping for toys for themselves.
Do you like this or not?
And are there anything?
Are you a fan of the Lego, the puzzles,
any of those comic book action figures?
Let's bring it back.
I used to collect action figures.
Ninja Turtles.
Um
We had He-Man toys.
Power Rangers.
Do you remember that?
Oh, I remember.
Let's get the gang back together, play outside, drink from the hose.
You know, the usual, get everybody over, play Jenga.
Let's get a little spooky.
Let's bring the fun back.
you.
We're never too old, baby.
Don't grow up.
We got to worry about taxes, mortgages, you know, toxic women.
Too many things to worry about.
Let's bring back Toys R Us.
You said it.
Actually, as a matter of fact, they are.
They're bringing back like 140 stores across the country.
And I think, you know what's interesting?
And he pointed this out.
Things like the Ninja Turtles and the Power Rangers.
Those have never gone away.
So like they also span generations now.
So the things that were popular when I was a kid, now I have a kid.
And like a new He-Man movie came out last summer.
So, like, it's interesting how they're
really cashing in on the adults, too,
by kind of bringing all of these things back.
And the merch line that comes along with them as well,
because they hit on what's nostalgic, right?
So, I'm an 80s baby, so I see these things.
It takes me right back to where it was.
Pattern recognition, emotional tagging, right?
It's like a song. You hear it on the radio.
It takes you back 30 years ago.
You remember who you were with, what
you're wearing, what the weather's like.
We see all these things coming back, and we're like,
I want my kids to experience what I experienced.
It's an awesome concept. I love it.
Yeah, and you may have seen Walmart is running an ad right now
where they brought back the Muppet Christmas Carol,
which is one of my all-time favorite movies in the world.
And there was a part of me that hated that commercial,
but at the same time, I watched the entire thing.
And I was like, hey, it's the Muppets. Good for them.
If you have ever wished you could see
your favorite movie for the first time a second time,
Good news! A French film production called Path
is performing an experiment to see if they can
give some movie fans that exact experience.
And if you're wondering how, they have hired a hypnotist
to mind-wipe 30 people as part
of a promotion they're calling Path Rewind. Registration for
the event is now closed, but participants
were chosen based on factors like film preferences,
personal motivation, and of course, availability.
So if you're free, you can do it.
They will have a private online hypnosis session.
Then they will be hypnotized again right before
the screening of a movie of their choice.
They gave them a couple options,
things like The Matrix, which you see right there.
Seven, La La Land was one of the options as well.
The company says they are, quote, investigating whether
hypnosis can contribute to a new cinematic experience.
So, Eric, a hypnotic movie experience, do you like this or not?
The idea of...
You know, if you've ever seen the original Men in Black movie
where they would, like, hit you with that thing
and then, boom, you forget that it even happened.
Do you like this or not?
You are getting very, very sleepy.
I'm sorry, dude.
Don't worry about my business on me.
I can't buy into it, but if I could go back...
Dirty Dancing, bro.
Dirty Dancing would be it?
That would be the one, yes.
Okay.
Nobody puts Baby in the Corner.
That's what I'm going with.
But Hitting the Tide, I mean, come on, bro.
No.
It's a no for you.
I can't.
Wesley, do you like the idea of this hypnotic movie experience,
wiping a movie you love from your mind so you can go in,
fresh eyes, see it for the first time again?
I do like it.
I think there's a lot of cool movies that I'd like to see over again.
Name drop them.
No.
Name drop them.
E.T., No Country for Old Men.
Speed Racer with Matthew Fox.
Ooh, that was a great movie, by the way.
Anyway, um...
What's over there?
Um
Kill Bill.
So, yeah, I'm all about it.
If you can relive a really happy moment in your life, I'm all about it.
right,
So, yes, let's do this.
All right, Wesley gives it a thumbs up.
Eric gave it a thumbs down.
Melissa's in the Zoom room on this Monday night.
here
Melissa, you're shaking your head already.
You don't like this idea?
No, I don't say no for me.
Ah
If I want to watch a movie that, you know,
for the first time again, and I would rather
go.
wait for it to come out in the movies like when they have, you know.
30 years ago, you know, this movie featured,
mine would be Splash, Romancing the Stone.
Um
You know, I wouldn't trust someone to hypnotize me.
Plus, I don't believe in that stuff anyway, so no.
Okay, fair enough.
See, that's the thing.
I do find it intriguing.
You know, it's kind of that Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,
speaking of movies, that people might want to try to see again.
But no, no, I don't want anyone's fingers in what's going on up here.
you.
Allison, do you like the idea of this hypnotic movie experience?
And if you were going to do it,
what movie would you want to see again with fresh eyes?
I don't like it because I don't want anybody getting inside my mind.
My mind is amazing right now, and I don't want to mess that up.
But some of my favorite first movies are like crazy movies,
like The Burning Bed and Carrie and Enough with Jennifer Lopez.
Like, those are my movies.
OK, Billy in the Zoom room.
Billy, do you like the idea of this hypnotic movie experience?
And what would you want to see again for the first time?
I don't I like the hypnotic and somebody messing with my brain
and making me forget things because
I might make me forget something else
that was important like the day I was born but um
if I was to go back to watch a movie I would like to go see
I agree with Wesley
with E.T. and I definitely would like to see Grease.
Great. A great choice. A great choice.
I said earlier, you know, seven was one of the options.
David Fincher, that or the game with Michael Douglas and Sean Penn,
if you've never seen it.
It's a mind, you know what I'm talking about. And so like.
Definitely one of those movies that I
was just like sucked in, edge of my seat.
Also, Zero Dark Thirty, that final 30 minutes,
like nothing cinematically that I've ever sat
through had me on the edge of my seat the way that that did.
All right, next up, an etiquette debate, dividing social media.
Take a listen to the TikTok that started it all.
say this on behalf of some people I know.
I didn't ask them. They didn't ask me to say it,
but I'm still going to say it.
If you're traveling to a state, let's use Harry Styles concert as an
example. Harry Styles has been in New York for like months,
right? He's doing a residency.
If I have a friend that lives in New York
and I'm traveling to New York and I say,
hey, can I stay with you one night after my Harry concert?
If I just ask them that, that's rude.
That's rude to do.
It's rude to ask them, hey, can I stay at your place,
if they've never offered it, and
especially to not offer them anything back.
And if I go and I stay with them,
and I don't give them any money, I don't give them a nice
host gift, I don't take them out to a nice lunch
or dinner the next night or the day
of, that's also rude.
If you cannot go, especially in New York,
it's always New York, I hear people talking
about this.
Your friend who lives in New York apartment is not your free hotel.
Get a hotel.
There's also lots of hostels in New York.
There's so many like safe.
Cheaper places to stay in New York.
And if you can't afford to stay in New York,
then you either need to travel home that night
or you can't afford to go to the concert, period.
Or you can't afford to go to the concert, period.
Now, taking the Harry Styles part of the concert equation out of this,
Eric, the idea of asking to stay at a friend's house
with zero intention of actually hanging out with said friend,
you're literally just using them for the spot to crash.
Do you like this or not?
You know, I think it depends on the depth of the relationship.
I agree.
So it's like, are we just like Facebook friends?
Are we, were you in the Marine Corps with me?
Did we go to college together?
I have no problem.
Somebody once asked me, but be prepared if I say no.
And I don't need to be paid for it.
I mean, this girl is just tripping out.
Like, I don't need to be paid for it.
If it's something where you're a close friend, whatever.
Reciprocate, maybe. Do whatever. I don't have any problems with it.
I don't think there's any reason to get so upset about it.
I agree with you 100% that it has everything
to do with what type of friends that we actually are.
I also think it has a lot to do with what,
like, stage of life you may be in.
If you're a young person like her, living in New York,
you're probably, like, in a studio or an efficiency type of a thing.
And someone crashing at your apartment could really,
like, kind of cramp your style, so to speak.
I have a guest bedroom right now.
If I have a friend that's traveling through
and I can offer them a spot to sleep
and they don't have to worry about
trying to find a hotel
or drive 30 minutes in and out of the city,
then of course they're welcome to stay there.
Allison in the Zoom room.
Allison, the idea of staying with a friend
with no intention of hanging out with that friend.
Do you like it or not?
Allison, is your mic on?
We may have lost you.
We may have lost you.
All right.
Okay.
Okay, we can hear you.
Okay, I'm sorry. No, I don't think it's an issue at all.
If it's somebody that you're close to,
there's no problem with staying with them. And again,
I wouldn't mind someone staying with me if it's someone I'm very,
very close to, but I would also put up a roadblock so I wouldn't have
to say no. Like, oh, girl, I could tell you where the cheap hotels
are nearby so you know that you're not staying with me.
So sometimes you just have to throw a little hint,
let somebody know where we are.
I think that's very fair as well. Melissa, the idea.
Letting a friend stay with you with zero intention
of ever actually seeing that person.
Are you cool with it?
Well, me personally, I have keys to my friends homes,
so if I go, you know, I tend to just show up and be like, hi,
but I would definitely have the intention to have coffee or maybe go
get a meal and then, you know, let them know the reason why I'm there.
But if you don't know these people and you just want to go and crash,
no, like I agree with her to a certain extent where there
are places where you can stay that are really cheap.
But you also got to, you know, take the ups and the downs,
you know, when it comes to staying in places that are inexpensive,
especially in New York.
Yeah, that's for sure, too.
And also, it's nice to, you know,
kind of pay it forward every now and then.
If you would ever find yourself needing a similar favor,
oh, I just got, you know, missed a connecting flight,
and now I'm stranded in the city.
And it would be nice to have that friend who, you know,
you had done it for, and then they would do it back for you.
It depends on the situation.
All right, keep the comments coming on all
the stories we have talked about so far.
Coming
up
next,
why
Jon
Hamm
hates
not
to
do
you
like
it
or
not.
And shout out to West Virginia Ben
and our TikTok chat saying it's not rude to ask to stay.
But just be open to the possibility,
like you said, that they might say no.
Eric, thanks so much for joining us.
Hey, before we dive into the second half of the show, a quick reminder.
Coming up tomorrow night,
we have live team election coverage, midterm elections.
We're going to be live from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m.
Now, that includes us right here on Do You Like It or Not.
We'll have heard from the pundits.
We'll have heard from the politicians.
We'll have heard from the anchors.
But we still want to hear from you.
So it'll be a special edition of Do You Like It or Not?
But the Zoom room will be open.
And we want to hear from you what matters to you this election,
whether you voted early, whether you voted in person.
What are the issues that matter to you?
Of course, all opinions are welcome in the Zoom room.
We just ask that you always keep it respectful.
And we will be on Fox 5 in addition to Fox Local.
And that also means that we have to,
you know, keep the language clean as well.
So we'll remind you tomorrow night as well.
But tomorrow night.
7.30, same time, same place.
Zoom room will be open, but we'll be talking all things election.
All right, next up, new story now.
We're talking about airline etiquette gone wrong, and this is
the sort of thing that gets a lot of people fired up.
Country singer Jesse James Decker
going viral after taking matters into her own hands
on a recent flight. Take a look.
The mom of four posting a video showing
a fellow passenger barefoot resting directly on her armrest.
After holding her nose, she pulled out that spray bottle,
spritzed the intruding foot until the
passenger yanked it away. Some people said it was staged.
It might actually be her husband, but
we have seen similar situations on flights before.
She wrote in the caption,
before you come at me, what would you do?
Eric, taking matters in your own hands?
Do you like this or not?
These people are unhinged on these flights.
I would agree.
There's no way that's a real thing.
The dude's got his corns all sticking out.
And just getting sprayed, it's a good damn thing.
Somebody can bite them off, right?
I'm like, get your foot off my back.
Absolutely.
People get too comfortable flying, man.
They're crazy.
That is 100% true.
Pinky Ring King is a frequent flyer.
He's heading out to Vegas all the time.
Pinky Ring King, if someone's got their bare foot
on your armrest, how are you handling it?
Depends on...
French tippies.
If you say French tippies, buddy.
Thank you, buddy.
If they're French tippies and they're nice feet, maybe.
But if it's bunion toes like that, no.
I'm opening up the...
I'm opening up the door.
I'm throwing them out.
I'm yelling bomb.
Yeah, that's where the duct tape comes out,
like that one passenger we saw.
Now, while Jesse James wages war on bare feet, there's an NBA
superstar making the case that you should ditch your shoes more often.
Take a listen.
And I also find more and more that feet
are responsible for so much more that goes on.
It's funny because I was just talking to a rookie.
I went to practice barefoot.
And he sees me walking without shoes and he was like,
I didn't know you could just not wear shoes.
An evangelist for going barefoot,
Wemby went to work converting us.
I try to walk barefoot as much as I can.
His shoe size,
as you're
likely
wondering, 20.
Basically, you need to strengthen your feet,
and what shoes do, like shoes like yours, for example,
they don't respect the natural shape of the foot.
When he was done insulting Mike...
All right, so that is part
of Victor Wembanyama's Sit Down With 60 Minutes.
You can check out the full segment on their website, but...
Eric, now he's the complete opposite here.
He's saying, go barefoot more often.
Do you like this or not?
I'm fine with bare feet.
Just don't put them near my face.
Just don't put them near my face and in my space.
Right in space.
Right in space.
So it's like, if you're out like eating somewhere,
So...
you need to be wearing shoes.
Don't get near my food.
But aside from that, if I got shoes on.
I don't care what you're stepping in, bro.
Like, dude, do what you got to do.
It's a special little side job, only feet, right?
Yeah.
So it's like, why would you, I just don't,
if you want to walk in bare feet, walk in
bare feet.
As long as I got my shoes on, I'm fine with that.
Just not near my food.
Lastly, the idea of going barefoot more often,
like Wemby says, do you like it or not?
All day, every day, I don't wear shoes.
I don't like shoes.
Maybe it's a texture thing,
but I don't wear shoes or socks or anything like that.
I'm not going to show you my feet.
I'm just moving.
Flip flops every day.
I feel like it's good for you to not wear shoes.
Your feet need to breathe.
I think people with stinky feet have feet that are always covered up,
and they're conditioned to being contained inside of something,
and you don't really get a good, I don't know,
just touch the earth with your feet, man.
It's good for you.
I'm all about it.
Wemby?
I'm with you, buddy.
He's all about it.
All right, finally, Mad Men star Jon Hamm sharing his hot take
and hatred for a popular appetizer.
Take a listen.
What's your favorite cheat food?
Cheat food?
Cheat food.
Anything Mexican food,
I will go towards a taco or a burrito or a tamale of some sort.
I'm a big fan.
All right, all right.
Correct, that is correct.
Not nachos.
Calm down whoever said that.
Let me list my food.
You list yours when you're up here.
By the way, nacho is the worst Mexican food
because I'm sorry this is the speed round,
but you know what?
You brought it up.
Uh...
You get one decent nacho out of a plate of nachos,
and then it's all over the place.
Bare chips, soggy mess.
You might as well eat it with a fork.
It might as well be called something completely different.
You get the one good nacho, which is, you are correct, delicious.
But the plate is then ruined.
Anyway.
The plate is then ruined.
Jon Hamm's hatred for nachos.
Eric, is he right?
You're talking to a Marine.
I'll eat stuff off the ground.
I don't care.
I never thought about this until he said it.
It's facts, right?
You get that one good one, then it's just
like straight up like Fred Flintstone stuff.
So, yeah, I'm not, you know, it's a little nasty.
Yeah, and there's a viral skit out there, if you've ever seen it,
where if you're sharing a plate of nachos,
then you're in sort of an odd little battle of like
who's taking the good ones and who's taking the bad ones.
