Russia has successfully utilized a sea drone to sink the Ukrainian reconnaissance ship Simferopol near the mouth of the Danube River. The attack resulted in one death, several injuries, and multiple missing crew members. This event marks a shift in naval drone warfare, as Ukraine had previously been the more dominant force in deploying such technology against Russian assets.
Russia sinks Ukrainian naval vessel
in first successful sea drone attack.
Russia is not just making steady gains on land of late,
but at sea as well.
On Thursday, Russian and Ukrainian media described that Russia attacked
and destroyed a Ukrainian naval vessel,
killing one crew member and injuring several others.
Efforts to address the aftermath of the attack are ongoing.
The majority of the crew are safe,
and the search for several missing sailors continues,
Ukrainian spokesman Dmytro Pilichuk told the Kiev Independent.
Russia's defense ministry had earlier
in the day announced that a Russian naval drone
hit the Ukrainian medium reconnaissance ship Simferopol.
Near the mouth of the Danube River, after which the vessel sunk.
Ukrainian sources say the vessel is designed for radio,
electronic, radar, and optical reconnaissance
and was armed with a 30mm AK-306 artillery system.
Now, we have video of the drone hitting the ship.
Russian state media.
It is, meanwhile, hailing the first successful use
of a sea drone to take out the Ukrainian naval vessel,
according to TASS, Russia's state media.
According to WarGonzo, a telegram channel, the vessel was the largest ship
that Kiev had launched since the Western-backed coup in 2014.
Now, you heard that, right? The Western-backed coup.
Remember, that's when
Well, the United States took over the Ukraine from Russia
during a color revolution known as the Orange Revolution, i.e.,
well, protesters in the streets, irregular voting machines,
the whole shebang that was run by Norm Eisen.
But of course, the West has always been trying to get a hold.
...of the natural gas and now the rare earth.
This ship, the Simferopol, can be considered
the personification of the mighty naval forces of Ukraine,
the Independent Channel wrote on Thursday.
Previously in the war, it was actually the Ukrainian side
which showed itself most adept at deploying sea drones.
Several devastating attacks
on Crimean naval ships have forced Russia to transfer non-deployed
navy ships to the Caspian Sea.
Now, if you made it to the end, let me know.
You get to watch the Ukrainians take out
a Russian naval ship carrying the Kalibr cruise
missiles with a single drone.
Obviously, a flying drone.
Not a sea drone.
Unbelievable.
It did look like there were two separate drones there.
So, folks, if y'all made it to the end, let me know.
God bless.
