DC weather: Cloudy and cool Monday with highs near 66 degrees

4:45 checking in with our weather and traffic and Taylor, where are you on this one? Yes or no? Oh I don't know. I have to think about that one. Anyway, going to be certainly a day that you have to break out the coat this morning. We're currently in the 30s for some of you. 40s right now in downtown D.C. Frederick is one of the spots in the 30s currently with cloudy conditions. We're going to keep things chilly to start out. Eventually warm up to seasonal conditions by the afternoon. But regardless, here's where we are with the temperatures right now. We have some 30s coming in for Beltsville. Also, Bowie dropping to 38 degrees right there. Let's check in with radar. Radar, this rain, it looks threatening, but it's going to fall apart as it lifts north. And hit all that dry air. So I don't think we're looking at anything in terms of rain for today, but we will start out with cloud coverage, eventually gain some sunshine towards the end of the day. So here we go for the afternoon. High temperature 66 degrees with some morning clouds and clearing later in the day should be a fantastic one for outdoor plans. Tomorrow should be a little bit warmer as we break out more sunshine throughout the day. I think Tuesday will be one of the picks of the week for outdoor plans as we keep things dry and have that bright sunshine come back. It looks like Wednesday is going to be dry as well. Thursday is going to turn wet. So I know you'll probably have to dust off the rain gear, but you'll need it on Thursday. That'll bring the best chance of this entire week for the rain. But I do think it'll linger for several days after that in terms of the threat for showers into Friday. They'll be around in the first half of the weekend. We could see some showers out there as well. Sunday looks like we'll finally at least dry out a good bit. Seven-day forecast looking good for Election Day tomorrow. It's going to be dry with bright sunshine, low 70s, but a chilly start to the day. So you'll need the coat tomorrow. Wednesday is looking nice as well. Partly sunny, 74 degrees. Clouds and rain chances return heading to Thursday. That could linger into Friday as well. First half of the weekend could have the chance for some showers out there. And then it looks like it will dry out come Sunday with temperatures seasonal range in the mid-60s for most of you.
