They are scared. They are terrified.
They see what we see, that we're about to win this
election on November 3rd.
Democrat for Senate James Tallarico projecting confidence in Dallas.
Meantime, Republican Ken Paxton delivering his best and final pitch.
Work to bring down costs across the board on every front.
I will fight to make your life
better. Change Washington and hold bad actors accountable,
just like I've done as Attorney General
Panel, whether he wins or whether he loses,
the Attorney General's fundamental flaw is
that a majority of Texans,
including plenty of folks in his own party, believe he is actually
one of the bad actors and has been his entire career in politics.
Now, according to a final pre-election poll
from Texas Southern University, 58% of Texans
have an unfavorable opinion of Ken Paxton.
You know, and that probably includes his former lawyer.
Your friend, Dan Cogdell,
who went out on a limb and endorsed Tallarico.
He did, and endorsed him on his podcast, had Tallarico on the show,
on the podcast with him, and endorsed him.
You know how bad a candidate Ken Paxton
is when he doesn't even appear in his own commercials?
And every commercial he has, he has other people in there,
and he doesn't appear in his own commercials.
That's how bad a candidate he is, and that's 58%.
of Texans who have unfavorable view of him,
that shows why he's going to lose this race.
Bill, you know, there's been the hold your nose
and vote Republican message out there.
But are you sensing that people who just could not elevate someone
who has done what Ken Paxton has done?
To the upper chamber, those people are holding on.
I think what Bob and Charles talked about
is that some Republicans who said they weren't
going to vote get in the voting booth and say, okay, I've got to do it.
I also wonder about how many people were going
to vote for the Libertarian as opposed to
voting for him.
But the problem is, it is such a big group of people
that are saying that if only half of them don't vote,
and plus when you add how bad he's doing with independents,
it's just hard for me to see how he can win the race.
I just don't see how the numbers add up.
Charles, one of the best arguments I've heard, you know, and I said,
like, what's Tallarico going to do on Puerto Rico and D.C.?
What's he going to do on expanding the Supreme Court?
Thank you for the report.
Some people have said like, look,
that's what the filibuster rule is all about.
They're not gonna be able to do it. There won't be a filibuster rule.
Yes, they're absolutely false. I think that probably the biggest
boon that Democrats are gonna get from having him there
is really the down ballot draft they're
gonna see for the next couple of years
of him going around not just the state but the country
trying to help lower ballot candidates get elected
and kind of all of that as it goes on.
But I do think that it's hard for Republicans,
and it's really hard for Democrats to go in there
and convince themselves that,
That going against Ken Paxton,
not that they're going to vote for Ken Paxton, but having lived under
a statewide Ken Paxton as AG with unilateral power,
it's going to be a bigger risk for them to live under him as a senator.
I don't think that that makes sense as an argument.
Got to go to break.
Still to come, redrawn to favor a Republican.
Voters in Texas may have a different plan about
who they send to Washington.
