Let me quickly mention this Notre Dame Navy game here.
I'm curious your thoughts on this one, Dave.
I actually find myself leaning towards Navy
because a combination of look ahead plus it's
a service academy, do your job, limit possessions type of thing.
The issue for Navy is their defense is horrific.
And Notre Dame are off a bye and a loss.
So I think they'll be motivated to hang a number here.
So I'm not desperate to step in front of the Irish.
What do you make of this one?
You won't have to convince me to take 30, 30 and a half points
with an academy team that runs the ball and limits possessions.
That's not a hard sell.
A hard sell is the defense, as you mentioned.
I was going to give all the numbers, but you just mentioned it.
Their defense is horrific.
Now, Notre Dame doesn't have to go up there and put up 38 points.
Their Super Bowl is next week.
They win next week.
They're in the playoff.
They got to buy.
It's over.
It's done.
They're not going to lose the rest of the year.
So they're.
National championship aspirations to have
the easiest road possible is next week,
whether they win by one today or win by 30.
So I lean towards the points,
but I also know that this Notre Dame-Navy game
is very similar to our hot topic week one and two
when Georgia was playing directional schools
that we knew they could win by 50 on,
but we kept taking the points because they don't step on the gas
and Kirby doesn't step on the throw.
This would be a game where it's 40.
It's...
37-10 in the fourth quarter,
and we're holding on to our seats,
praying that the fourth-string Notre Dame running back
doesn't break one for a touchdown.
So I'm not betting it,
but you know I would take the points if it was on my card.
Yeah, I would agree with you here.
It's just very, very difficult to lay.
With Notre Dame in this spot, but, you know, sometimes I would like
to think that these service academies like defensively would
be a little bit better.
I mean, they just get like they've given up 300 plus passing yards
in consecutive games now.
They really do get lit up on that side of the road.
