Georgia-Florida Over 56.5: Why the Rivalry Goes High

I'm doing the Georgia-Florida stuff, and I'm like,
could it possibly be double overs in the two big ones today?
That's what I landed on.
How did I get there?
A lot of it has to do with the Gators.
I love that over against Ole Miss.
We get there big time.
I thought I was smart and played an under against Missouri,
and I was a genius.
Until Summerall was like, we're leaving here with something
and got himself a late touchdown and fair enough.
With 17 seconds to go, it was beautiful.
Early, it did look like an over anyway, so it didn't hurt as bad.
And that was fair enough.
But I'm looking at these Florida games and it just feels like
if they've got it going on, they're getting to 30.
And if they don't, it's a both sides of the ball thing
and they're giving up for it.
I just feel like we have multiple pathways here.
And what's been interesting this season with Kirby,
who we have talked about, it's been one of my favorite themes
of our show this year since the Tennessee State game, right,
is just like the motivation, the locked-in factor.
I think he has to look at the Auburn game.
And I'm sure he wants to clean up the defense,
but they didn't score in the second quarter or third quarter.
They jumped out early in that football game, 14-0.
Offensively, the dogs need to be pedal to the metal here, Dave.
So I don't know if you have a lean either direction,
but I played over 56 and a half here in Georgia, Florida.
I have more than a lean because another peek behind the curtains
when I was putting my card together earlier this week,
I wrote Florida, Georgia over.
I wrote over 54 and a half at the time.
That's what I was going to take.
And then I told you the spread kept climbing and climbing and climbing.
And so did the total, by the way.
The total climbed from 54 and a half up to 55 and a half.
And I said, you know, I now like the 12 and a half.
So I scratched out the total and I went with Florida plus 12
and a half, which has dipped back down.
But I totally agree with your over
because this game is going to go a couple of ways.
If Florida is competitive, it's because they score.
And if they score, this has 34-30 written all over.
If they don't score and they're turning the ball over
and Georgia's going to beat them,
they're still going to give up 35 to 40 points
because that's what the Florida defense has done in their losses.
They've given up a lot.
Florida's rarely played an under game this year
where it's been a dead set under.
Even was it the Auburn game?
Sorry, yeah, the Auburn game looked like it was going to be an under
because of the first half,
and they went ahead and scored galore
against Auburn in the second half.
Gunner Stockton has had issues keeping the ball the last two weeks.
That will lead to Florida short fields.
That's how Florida beat Texas, with short fields.
So they've put up points, taking advantage.
They're one of the top Havoc teams in the league, in the nation,
Havoc being forcing fumbles, tackles for losses, etc.
They are top 10 in that category.
Gunner Stockton threw two picks and had a fumble last week.
So they will force Georgia to turn over the ball.
And if they don't, that means Georgia's scoring at will,
and then you get your over anyway.
