Hey everyone, it's Deja from KnitAndCrochetEverAfter.com.
Today we are doing the Fine Fan Stitch Tutorial.
You can download the pattern below,
we'll get started, and I'll talk about the stitch
pattern after we do some rows.
Okay, so this is an easy one row repeat.
We gotta do our kind of foundation row,
and then we're just gonna repeat row two constantly.
To begin, we're going to do a multiple of 6 plus 4.
So I've done a chain of 16, so 6 times 2 is 12, plus 4 gives me 16.
So the first thing we're going to do is we're going to double crochet
in the 5th chain from our hook as the very first stitch.
So I'm going to count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
double crochet in that stitch there.
And then I'm going to skip the next four chains.
So I'm going to skip one, two, three, four.
And in this fifth chain, I'm going to double crochet,
chain one, double crochet.
So we're just setting up our base to get going with our fans.
And then we're going to repeat that in the very next stitch.
We're not skipping anything.
We're not doing anything.
We're just going to do a double crochet in the next chain.
chain one
and double crochet right back into that chain.
That's what we do.
We skip four and we keep repeating that kind of double fan until we
get to the last chain.
So we're skipping forward our last chain and we're going to do the same
thing. We're going to double crochet, chain one,
double crochet in that very last chain.
Then we will be ready for row two.
Okay, so for row two, this is our never-ending repeat. It's very easy.
We're going to chain four and that's going to be a double crochet
and a chain one. Then in this chain one space that we just made,
we're going to double crochet. This is going
to be a little bit different from our repeat in the middle.
Then we're going to skip our next chain one space.
So the next one we come to.
And then we're going to repeat this fan
in these two middle double crochets.
So we're going to double crochet, chain one, double crochet,
then in that very next double crochet we're going to do the same thing.
DC, chain one, DC, and then
when we get to the end over here,
because we skipped this double crochet, we're skipping this one,
And we're working the actual
DC, chain 1, DC at the end, just like we did kind of over here,
but we're going to do it in the top
of our chain 3.
So it's just going to be a little bit different on the edges.
It's like we're
skipping that chain 1 like we do in the center pieces.
So again, chain 4, because it's just a
repeat of everything,
we're going to double crochet in this chain 1, then we're skipping
Skipping that next chain one,
and working into that next double crochet.
Next one, dc, chain 1, dc, and then another
fan in that third turning chain.
That's all you do!
Very easy, but it's a pretty stitch pattern.
I really like the look of it
because it's kind of like a different kind of fan.
It's a little bit wider, it's got a little bit more...
Holes in it. This is unblocked so if you did block it you could kind
of pull it out a little bit more to get those holes to stand out more.
Especially if you're like in a wool or something. This is cotton
so it's not going to block very well where it's going to hold
that shape but wool or something like that would really look pretty.
Very easy to do a border on this.
A border with like kind of a ruffled edge would be really pretty.
Lots of options. I think this would be a really pretty scarf
or beanie or a shell, you know, a tank top
base for a tank top for the summer. Really pretty.
So lots of options. So this is the fine
