Mentalism Card Trick Revealed

Hello again everybody, okay I had somebody ask for a tutorial on a trick and I watched the trick and it was pretty easy for me to figure this one out, and I'm not going to perform this trick because it's not for up close viewing on YouTube, but I will explain it to you so you could perform the trick for your friends. First Watch the trick. It's on the blue box over here. Go check out the trick before you watch my tutorial on it and see if you can figure out how it's done before you come back and watch. Okay, you're back. What he does, he tells the spectator it's a mind reading trick and the results are predetermined. There's some kind of mystical force. There are two decks of cards. He wants the spectator to choose a box. He says, okay, let's say they choose the blue box. He opens up the box, goes through the cards, and he makes a prediction. Places the prediction card right down here, puts the rest of the cards away in the box, and gets rid of the box. Now. He has his prediction right down over here. Then he says okay to the spectator. He opens up the red box, takes out all the cards, and I'm going to tell you exactly what he does right now. He knows the top card is his prediction card. He predicted the two of clubs. He knows the top card on this deck is the two of clubs. So what he does is, as he's telling the spectator, I'm going to hand you this, and you can do whatever you want. You can mix the cards, however you want. He's distracting them by showing them that, and he's placing the two of clubs on top of the box. So the two of clubs is on top of the box, and the spectator can do whatever they want, and now the trick is all set. And then what he does is he says, okay, now, you can tell me to stop anywhere. If you tell me to stop here, it's a four. You can have me stop anywhere you want. Now, I'm going to go through the cards you tell me to stop. And he goes one, two, three, four. As soon as the spectator says stop, he says, is this where you want me to stop? Okay, this is the card, and they matched. Both two of clubs. Now again, here's exactly what he does. When he's counting the cards out, it makes that noise. When they stop, he goes just like that. Now faster, it looks faster. It looks like this. Like he pulled the card off the top. The reason why this isn't a trick for me to do is because the camera is so close, you'd be able to see that I actually wasn't taking the card, that my thumb actually went to this card. So this maneuver. Wouldn't work, because you could see it goes real close. You'd be able to see what I was doing. Also, if you look real closely, you could see that this is not the box, that this is a card. But this is a really cool effect if you want to try it on your friends. What you do, and what he did was, because his prediction was in the middle of this pack. So it wasn't the top card. So his prediction was the two of clubs because when they picked the blue deck, he knew the two of clubs was on top of the blue deck. If they had picked the red deck, it would have been a different card in the middle somewhere that would have been on top of the blue deck. That way, when he went through the cards, he knew the top card on the red deck was the Two of Clubs, so he went through and pulled out the Two of Clubs in the middle. But anyway, that's how the trick is done, and again, this is a trick that I would use, but I don't want to do it on camera, because you'd be able to spot it real easily from this close.
