CHRYSALIS (2026) | A Modern Adaptation of Pygmalion | Group 6 - Shift 2 | English Literature
🦋 CHRYSALIS | YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR WHOLE LIFE, AND STILL CHOOSE TO STAY KIND ✨
What is the true price of perfection?
In a world where image is currency, a young woman is polished, rebranded and lifted into the spotlight. A golden shell can take her to the top. But does rising higher mean she has to give up who she is?
Inspired by George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, Chrysalis reimagines the classic in a modern world of PR, livestreams and curated perfection. Change or exchange? Everyone around her seems to believe transformation has a price. She learns that some things can't be bought, scripted or edited out.
Through this adaptation, we hope to share a simple yet meaningful message: Success may change your title, your voice, even your place in the world, but it doesn't have to change your heart. Kindness is not a performance for the cameras. It is a choice we keep making, even when no one is watching. 🩷
🙏 Special thanks to Ms. Bach Linh Trang for her guidance and support throughout this English Literature Course.
