Group 7 Shift 2 - IC Final Project 2026
What happens when people from different cultures interpret the same situation in completely different ways?
Through two intercultural comedy role plays: Meeting the Aunties and Vietnamese Wedding. We explore how hidden cultural expectations can lead to misunderstanding, embarrassment, and eventually deeper understanding.
Role play 1: MEETING THE AUNTIES: An intercultural comedy role play about love, family, and the chaos of cross-cultural communication. When an American boyfriend meets his Vietnamese girlfriend’s aunties for the first time… everything goes wrong before it finally goes right.
Role play 2: THE EMPTY SEAT: A simple seating mistake at a Vietnamese wedding turns into an intercultural misunderstanding between two international friends. This role play explores how culture shapes the way people interpret respect, hierarchy, and social behavior.

Tóm tắt video
Được tạo bởi AIThe video explores the complexities of intercultural communication through the interactions between a Westerner (Mike) and a Vietnamese family, as well as a broader academic discussion on cultural frameworks. It emphasizes that misunderstandings often arise not from bad intentions, but from differing cultural lenses regarding communication styles, social hierarchy, and personal space.
