You purchased the team in 2005.
One second, one second.
Pat Murphy's a tough act to follow.
Let's hear it for Pat Murphy.
All right.
All right.
Did you have this in your dreams
when you purchased the team in 2005, Mark?
You know, Brian, you can dream,
but the reality far exceeds any dream.
When I first came to Milwaukee in August of 2004,
To look into purchasing this and putting an ownership group together,
I found a number of things.
Number one, that you had a huge community of people who love this team
and who were real salt of the earth,
Midwestern nice, high integrity people
that, you know, me and my family here wanted to become part of.
So at that point, my family was my wife,
Debbie, my son, Dan, my son, Mike.
They were in like ninth and sixth grade then.
I never imagined we'd have, you know, grandkids here,
and I never imagined that we'd be in front of everyone
who's embraced our family so passionately
to celebrate being world champions.
Oh, my goodness.
Thank you, Mark.
You're going to get used to doing those speeches up on the podium
because you got a bunch of bad boys up here.
Oh, they're tough.
And there's a lot of great players.
So thank you.
Thank you very much.
We saw those gamers out there.
We talk about, you know, gamers.
How many guys do you know would be getting beers from the crowd,
taking their shirts off and running into the crowd with the trophy?
Let's hear it for these guys.
So one last thought, Brian.
Sports has a way of bringing people together.
This team has brought an entire community and state together.
There are 6 million people in this state.
But today we're one. Our family is here. We're all one family today.
Let's hold on to that moment. One, two, three, and go!
Yeah! Thank you, boss. Thank you very much.
Thank you, Debbie. Thanks, fam.
How about we bring up the architect of this madness right here?
Matt Arnold.
This guy is a beer drinking,
hat backwards, dabbles in the analytics.
But he's a relationship guy,
and we are all honored to be in his presence.
You put this thing together, Arnie.
What do you have to say to these fans?
I cannot be more thankful to a special group
of people here that mean the world to me and
to everyone here in Milwaukee and Wisconsin,
and I'm incredibly thankful to every fan here.
Thank you so, so, so much.
Thank you.
Let me get one statement.
About putting this together, what your vision was,
obviously you've seen the reality.
When did it click for you?
This was a special group and a World Series was a possibility.
Yeah, man, there's so many moments along the way,
special moments, but really it came together
to last out, to be honest with you.
I mean, you know, every single guy contributed,
every single player had a moment, so many
special people up here
and this is the vision we've all had, man, since 1957.
People have waited.
1982, people have waited.
And 2026, forever.
Matt Arnold, everybody.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Way to go, Artie.
Thank you.
