How's everyone doing out there? I hope you're all absolutely spot on.
Now it's that time of the year isn't it?
We've not had Halloween yet or Bonfire Night
and there's Christmas food out and I've got one.
I've been shopping to M&S, come and have a look what I've got.
M&S food, meal for one, roast turkey.
It's a Christmas dinner isn't it
for one with all the festive trimmings.
Oven cook in 35 minutes.
Got a little traffic light system for nutrition,
it's freezable, used by 2nd of November.
Yeah, you're going to have to freeze it
if you want it for Christmas, that's for sure.
So I reviewed it last year, it's different packaging,
and I did it the year before, and I think the year before.
It used to be £6, last year it was £6.50, this year it's £7.
So it's changed, we need to review it.
Let's have a closer look at the packaging.
I did have a quick look at my video I did last year
and there is a few differences so we'll just
get straight in we'll have a look at it.
So yeah you get two pigs in blankets, a yorkshire pudding,
a stuffing ball, some roast potatoes,
you get your turkey in there with your gravy and you
get carrots and by the look of it you get brussels sprouts.
Never got them last year.
I'm quite sure you didn't.
I'm quite sure it was peas last year.
So they've stuck Brussels sprouts in for a change.
But other than that, it looks all exactly the same.
So we've got some spiel there.
Roast potatoes, slices of roast turkey and gravy,
carrots, Brussels, sprouts,
cooked sausages wrapped in streaky bacon,
the yorkshire pudding and pork stuffing.
Contains alcohol.
There's the nutritional information there.
And there are the ingredients.
The allergens are in bold.
The roast potato is 26%.
Turkey breast is 17%.
98% being turkey breast.
17% must mean that that makes up the whole meal, doesn't it?
I think that's what it's aiming at.
So, needs cooking, yeah, that's always a good idea, isn't it?
Suitable for freezing, like we've said. Got a GB stamp there.
Made in the UK with M&S assured turkey,
and pork from farms in the UK.
We've got pork as 80%. There, look, we've got streaky bacon, 6%.
Yeah, right. So, you do it in the oven. There is a procedure. I will...
I'll stick to it the best I can,
but you obviously do these the best you can, don't you?
You've got to, haven't you?
So, yeah, that's that.
Any more information on the side?
Got some spiel there, look.
And there it is.
Oh, there's a serving suggestion, look.
Right, let's get this in the cooker.
So there is a little procedure.
What you're to do, you're to not pierce the film lid several times.
I always say that.
So basically take this back,
but not over the turkey and the vegetables to there.
Now I'm preheating a baking tray
the first thing you do is take the roast
potatoes out and they go on the baking tray
for 15 minutes so that's what I'll
do. So the oven's preheated
so you take your preheated baking tray and place
some roast potatoes on there so you get three.
Now that's going in the oven
for 15 minutes. Right so the potatoes have had,
can you see okay, 15 minutes so
what you to do now you to take the pigs
in blankets out put them on there
and the stuffing ball
and what you're supposed to do is take that out as well
you to pierce the um film lid over the turkey
and the carrots and the Brussels sprouts
and then they go on like that then it all goes
in for another 15 minutes and the final five minutes
is to put that on there i dare say you could do it in the air fryer
but um i find it easier
to do in the oven because it's just more space you see right
that's going back in
If I can take this opportunity
and I hate saying this but I find if I never say it or if I don't
say it no one ever subscribes.
Maybe no one likes the videos but if you do like the videos please
hit the subscribe button and give the video a thumbs up
because it does help the channel
and it's free at the end of the day. I do thank you for it.
So there's five minutes left of cooking
now if you had a bit of goose fat
or duck fat you could have put a knob over these potatoes
at the beginning and it would have
been sitting in goose fat or duck fat but then
Yeah just a, just a thought.
Right it's going in for the last five minutes.
I nearly forgot. Just going to warm
my plate up for the last five minutes.
Put that in the bottom. It's done.
Right so there's your Yorkshire Pudding. Quite sorrowful
what Yorkshire Pudding. There's your potatoes.
You could do them, if you did them in the air fryer,
get them nice and crisp. There's your pork stuffing ball.
I've got tongs as well here
and why am I using my fingers? It will give my hands a wash.
Yeah, a total waste of time isn't it?
Fingers are like asbestos aren't they?
Plenty of practice so let's get this off here.
It's just me eating it anyway so
yeah it sits for one. It's not a sharer that's for sure.
Right I have got a spoon for my carrots
and my brussels sprouts so we'll get them
on there as well like that. So I think you get
You get four, well, yeah, you get three and the fourth one
is pretty much sort of, I wouldn't say munched up, but it's come apart.
Now, these are quite big plates, mind,
so we'll get the turkey out, we'll get all that out in there.
I mean, if you had like condiments, maybe some English mustard,
yeah, and now I'm going to get the gravy, what's left of the gravy,
I'm going to get it on my potatoes, like that, all over my veg,
and I'm going to fill my Yorkshire pudding up, like that.
And then get the rest out yeah.
I know on the serving suggestion it shows basically a plate
which is full. That plate's hot. But these are big plates.
We always seem to buy big plates. I
don't know why but we do. So I'm gonna, I'll show you.
I'll show you it. That's what you get. Yeah
if you've got like other bits
and Bob's your uncle, you could you know make maybe more gravy. But I
think I'm happy with the amount of gravy on that.
It's smelling really nice. It is. It's smelling,
it's smelling good. Right we'll go to the table and we'll try it.
Well thank you very much for watching, I do appreciate it.
So yeah, it is what it is.
Looks like it's got a smiley face on that potato doesn't it?
Look at that, is it a smiley face?
Yeah fingers there, only take so much heat.
Right so let's let's try a bit of this turkey, yeah with the gravy.
Try a bit of potato,
nice and soft and fluffy.
Yeah I wouldn't say they're crispy
on the outside,
if you did them in the airfryer I like mine like really crisp,
really crisp and dark.
So we'll get in with a bit of carrot,
a bit of stuffing and a bit of turkey, we'll try that.
Oh it's hot, brussels
sprout, not a massive fan
of brussels sprouts I'll
be honest, I'm not,
I'm not. We'll sort of try that last. So that's a pig in blanket
wrapped in bacon, salty.
Try the Yorkshire pudding
with some gravy in there, that's
going to be hot isn't it.
Tell you what, I'll use my knife and fork on that one.
Yeah it is tasty though, it is.
I remember it last year and it was the same as well.
Puddings a little bit crisp
on the outside it's it's nice the Brussels
sprout soft earthy I'm not that keen
on them I'll be honest let's taste the
pork stuffing ball I quite like
this I do the gravy
is lovely as well it's
it's all it's all it's all good it
is it's seven pounds it's M&S not any
old shop you
know it's M&S for
me load of salt
and pepper
What was I going to say? Some bread and butter as well.
Bread and butter definitely mop all the gravy up at the end.
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, you get some English mustard on there, can't you?
If you've got any cranberry sauce, you put some of that on.
You know, make some apple sauce, or you can buy that in pots.
Get some apple sauce on there.
Bread sauce, they all come in pots now, don't they?
You know, pimp it up the best you can
and make the best of the situation.
That's what you've got to do.
Yeah, I reviewed it last year and the year before.
However, you are spending Christmas this year.
We are so glad you chose to celebrate with us. Merry Christmas.
We're in October mind.
These are in our supermarkets, the new, so I have to review
them. I do. Right. I like it. I do like it. I'm
going to give it an eight out, eight and a half out of ten.
Yeah, eight and a half out of ten. 50p more than last year.

this off now I'm going to get some salt and pepper
does need a bit of salt and pepper
for me yeah I do like my salt and my pepper.
Okay all the best and I'll get back to you on the next one.
