Halloween in Summerside: trick or treat?
Oct 30, 2026
Mayhem, people not paying attention
and people like wanting the candy and trying to elbow
out to see decorations, get the candy, what have you.
There's almost this expectation that the boulevard puts
on a great Halloween event, but then
there's no support to make it a safe
enjoyable event for everybody so if homeowners aren't enjoying it
why should we continue if we're not getting that support?
We have all continued to ask the city
to support us with even a partial road closure. We know that
Part of the boulevard cannot be closed in order
to allow safe access for other residents,
but even if we could close a portion of the boulevard
so we could slow traffic,
then at least that way we can see what
is happening with foot traffic flow.
So when people are coming to be respectful,
be kind, please don't take what's not yours
It's really disheartening to watch people just taking
things and to not really feel like I'm
in a place to be out on the street intervening.
We don't even take our own kids down,
and we recommend anyone who talks to me, be like
hey, let's check it out
I'm like, come some point in October, but don't come on the 31st
