We're in the final countdown to Tuesday's midterm elections.
We are now just under four days away
from the polls opening up across all of Massachusetts.
Nearly a million people across the state have already cast
their ballots in early and also mail-in voting.
Clock is ticking if you want to vote before Tuesday.
Boston 25 News reporter Ryan Breslin is live in Dedham this morning.
And Ryan, today is the last day for early voting.
Good morning to you, Gene and Nicole.
Yeah, that's right.
Early voting has been open in towns across the state
for the last two weeks now,
but today is the last day to early vote.
You will want to check your town's website
to check the polling locations and the hours
right here at the town hall in Dedham, a polling place.
It is a half day today at the town hall.
Here's a look at the early voting statistics across the state.
As of yesterday, there have
been more than 983,000 ballots received to this point.
That includes nearly 700,000 mail-in ballots returned
so far and about 286,000 early voters.
That represents about 19% turnout so far.
Now, the state also says that there
are about 360,000 mail-in ballots yet to be returned.
If you are one of those people
who has a mail-in ballot and hasn't returned it yet,
here's what you need to know.
It must be postmarked by election day in order to be counted.
You can also take your mail-in ballot
and bring it directly to your local election office.
Towns also have designated ballot boxes where you.
We'll have
more on that
coming up
in our next
half hour.
For now, we're live in Dedham, Ryan,
and Breslin for your local station, Boston 25 News.
