How to turn cardboard boxes into easy, last-minute Halloween costumes

All right, you guys ready? Are you ready? Dolly and the beaver are going to get in a workout here. Okay. Oh, we are, aren't we? Are we? It's a festive twist. Just stay in your section. All right. We're going to get your core cooking. So this is good. This is good, especially if you've already dug into that Halloween candy and you need something. You can do this right at home. It's a five-move workout. The acronym is GHOST. G-H-O-S-T. Get. No, don't guess. I don't want you to guess. Yes. Okay, Matthew Kosmowski, dynamic personal trainer at Lifetime Commerce joins us. They know what they're doing at Lifetime, and he's a dynamic personal trainer. Matthew, thank you for being here. We appreciate you having us, all right? Have you met, this is the Beaver. Hi, Beaver. And I'm Dolly. So, this is what you're working with for your workout, buddy. So, here we go. Trying not to break character now. Lifetime's real exciting, okay? I should have worn my ghost outfit, right? That probably would have been a better fit. But we're excited to put a little Halloween twist and a little at-home workout, okay? And I love an acronym to help us remember what we're supposed to do. Yep. Okay, so where do we start? So, we're going to start with G, okay? Glute bridge. So, we're going to come onto our backs, okay? Okay. Come on down with me. Dolly's not going to get on her back, but the beaver will. Beaver can do that. I know he was asked about how to build his glutes at home, so. So we're going to lay on our backs, feet flat on the floor, and we are just going to push our feet into the floor and squeeze our glutes, okay? Oh yeah. Yup. So fun fact, the core does involve the glutes. I know a lot of people think of the core as just the abs, but good starter. We'll do 10 reps of these, okay? How does that feel, Beaver? So you're saying this is good. I've got so many cords on my back. I'm sorry. The Beaver will find a way to get out of any exercise. That's right. I've got a cord digging in my back. All right, we're going to go to a hollow hold next. Hollow hold. So come on on your butt. Okay, I can do that. What we're going to do is lift our feet. And we're just going to float, okay? Oh, that's a good one. Now, if we want to make this a little bit more difficult, we're just going to come a little bit lower to the ground. Lower your shoulders, Beaver. Bring that back, yep. Come that shoulders back, back, back. Your neck should be more neutral. There you go. All right. How's that feel for you? Oh, good. All right, we're going to go to oblique twist. So this is all of our ghost acronym. Feet are going to be on the floor. We're going to... Turn our shoulders. Oh, that's a good one. Turn our shoulders, and we're gonna continue, okay? Bring yourself back, make it a little bit more difficult. You feel it, right? I feel it, I feel it, Dolly. Dolly, you wanna join us for the next few? Yeah, come on, Dolly. Is it starting to get on the floor? They're all on the floor, yup. We're gonna do a sit-up, okay? Next is gonna be a sit-up. I'm wearing a dress. Ratings. Come on back. I appreciate you, you're just as cute as can be, but I am wearing a dress here. Ratings gold. Come on back on your back. We're gonna do a straight sit-up, okay? We're gonna fold ourselves forward. Oh, I can't do that. Dolly's probably not going to do that. Let's hold your feet down. Ready? Go ahead and sit up. There you go. You can do a sit-up. No. I can, but I just need to wait for what I have on my back. So, Matt, let me ask you about the sit-up. Go ahead, Ry. Keep it going. Good. The old-fashioned sit-up that we learned to do in elementary school, is that still a productive move? So the only difference, right, we used to learn to kind of hold our feet, right? So you're working a lot of hip flexors. So if you keep your feet free, you're actually using a lot more of your abs and your core. So keep your feet. So you don't need someone holding your feet. Nope. And what are you doing? You're just coming all the way down? Yep, so you're kind of peeling yourself off the ground. And he's using his arms a lot. Yeah, trying to minimize the arm swing. I'm trying to keep my costume on. Trying to keep the nose on. All right. Okay, so that's still that old-fashioned sit-up still works. Yeah, gets the job done. We're gonna finish with a toe touch. All right. Yeah Feet's gonna go straight in the sky. Okay, Dolly can't and we're gonna reach up to the toes Up to the toes. Get those shoulders off the floor. Reach up to the toes. I got to help him out a little bit. Reach. Touch my hand. Reach. There you go. Mr. Beaver is cooked. The beaver is dead. He's done. All right. Good job, Ry. So that's just a simple. Matthew, that's good. So let's review. G. G. Glutes. Glutes. Yeah, that's a glute bridge. And you're saying you can get down on the floor and you're just lifting, basically lifting your hips up in a straight line. Yep. Hip extension, right? You're driving your feet down and squeezing your glutes. H is. Hollow hold. Legs out straight. Legs out isometric. We don't like any of those. O is the twist. Oblique twist. S. S. S is a sit up. Sit up. And T is toe touch. Simple as that. Something you can do at home. Good job, buddy. Nice try. Going to a break. Coming up, we're going to show you how you can put together last minute costumes with just the stuff you have at home.
