As they are now home to celebrate their historic World Series win
Donovan and Nicola are at Henry Meyer Festival Park now where fans
are going to soon to be welcoming the world champion. Morning guys.
Yeah, hey, good morning, Derrick.
They are already here.
They're already ready to welcome the World Series champions,
Milwaukee Brewers, home to Milwaukee.
They had a big travel day yesterday.
We just saw there the water cannon salute that they received
when they landed at MKE.
Then they hightailed it up to Titletown
to greet fans at the Packers game.
And that's what we saw at South Freelake, take the Lambeau leap,
and those fans receiving him warmly, just kind of shaking on him,
loving on him.
I mean, they're just as excited.
He is to represent this city, Milwaukee,
as a fan, as a sports fan, and we see so many
of those same fans represented here at the festival grounds.
In fact, there's probably, what, thousands now.
We lost count.
I did find the first fan in line.
Oh, you did?
What time?
He is with his family.
They got here at 5 a.m.
Oh, wow.
So I thought it would have been earlier,
but they got in line at 5 a.m., but they got here
at the...
The crowd grounds themselves to a park about like 4, 430-ish.
That's not too bad at all.
Yeah, I wish you guys could see what we're seeing,
because right now we have a 360-degree view
of fans that are just surrounding us.
Oh, Copeland, great, thank you.
Yeah, the line has wrapped around so many times.
I really don't know where it starts and where it ends.
That's so true.
I just know in every, you're right,
every direction, north, south, east, west,
there are folks, and we saw a lot of them, Nicola.
get off of a um a show earlier in droves
but they're all waving they're all excited they are
incredibly ready to invite or rather receive the crew
when they get here yeah you know
but he's having such a good time
They're in a bad mood.
They're not grumpy about having to wait.
They're just excited for those gates to open here at 8 o'clock.
We've got, what, a matter of minutes left now?
A matter of minutes.
I'm looking at my clock now.
It is 736, so roughly a little more than 20 minutes or so now.
And they'll be in those gates and taking in all of the fun,
all the excitement, all the joy
that is this World Series run and the Parade of Champions.
Okay, so now we're going to go to Andrew Amuzu.
He's also at the Summerfest grounds, but a slightly different location.
Okay, so, Andrew, walk us through what you're seeing.
It looks like a ton of people.
Yes, a whole lot of people, and we're also seeing, hearing,
we're just feeling the energy, I mean, from top down, and there's,
it really has been sort of like this all morning long,
but really as we get closer to that parade time,
you're seeing a lot more super fans,
people coming from all over our area, even Oconomowoc right over here,
we have Harley Davidson, Wisconsin, so I did hear something about,
you know, them, if they get on TV, they can get a free lunch
or something like that, so whoever needs to see this.
They get a free lunch right over here
so they are definitely Brewers super fans from Oconomowoc
but also from the Slinger area too.
We have a group of ladies here who are excited to cheer
on the Brewers especially with this championship parade.
What time did you guys get here? We got
here at 6 20 and we woke up at 4 a.m. Oh
my gosh obviously you don't even wake up that
early for school so I know this is definitely a very special moment.
Tell me about the energy that you have felt, not only
this morning, but throughout this entire
playoff run. I was at Amphibian
on Wednesday, actually, for the watch party, and it was
like the most surreal feeling ever.
It's like, watch your team win, and it just makes you feel
like so proud of them to watch them do this.
Like, they're the underdogs, kind of.
So, it was just really cool, and I'm so grateful to
experience this in my lifetime. It's just
so cool. Yeah, and obviously
the last time they were in the World Series, 1982.
So, hopefully we don't have to wait that
long, you know what I mean, for the next one.
You know what I mean? So, I
I do hear that we have about a minute left here.
Do you have a special performance
or something like that that's going on here?
Milwaukee Brewers songs, so we're going to dance and sing for you.
Can we kick it off here?
All right, let's do it.
Milwaukee Brewers! Milwaukee Brewers!
Milwaukee Brewers!
Let's play some baseball!
Let's play some baseball!
Let's play some baseball!
Let's play some baseball!
Hey, hey, hey, hey!
I want that energy!
I know, they're dancing!
Oh my god.
Wait a minute, you think we could get our crowd to do that?
I think we could.
Let's do it.
I guess we'll try.
Let's play some baseball and get some home runs.
Let's get some baseball and get some home runs.
Yes, they match the same energy.
They did the same thing.
Everybody knows that song.
I think it's the song of this season.
I had to match that.
Oh, gosh, yeah, that was awesome.
Everybody here is so fun and so nice.
Donovan's getting beers tossed at him.
Yeah, and it was for great...
Here it goes.
Wait a minute.
There you go.
Yeah, show us your beer.
I had to bend down to get it.
I just had the nicest girl bring me hot hands
so that my hands would say toasty.
We have the best fans.
We do.
Oh, my gosh.
The Milwaukee way.
The kindest hearts.
They are.
They are.
And I love them.
I love them for it.
And that song is in my head now.
I'm over here dancing, guys.
You got it.
I can imagine the energy out there.
We'll check with you in just a bit.
