Heading to Sleepy Hollow for Halloween? Keep safety in mind

Yeah, we're in Westchester's Sleepy Hollow. I can tell you the area is all decked out. And for these Halloween events, people are visiting the local shops and restaurants. But neighbors here say they want safety to be top of mind. Now, let me walk you through some important reminders. Now, some residents say illegal parking is creating problems, including cars. Cars blocking drivers' views near stop signs. Their message will be simple. Follow the parking signs and keep driveways clear and respect private property. Now I'm going to bring him in. Joining us now is the Sleepy Hollow Village Administrator, Anthony Giaccio. We've been talking about visitors coming to town. They come here every year. What are some of the most important things you think they should keep in mind while visiting? So we are a small community and people live here. So just be respectful for the residents here. We deal with this for about a month, maybe six weeks. It's a little bit of a challenge for us, our police department, but be respectful and I think we'll be okay. We've been hearing that neighbors have concerns with things that have been happening. How has the village been handling that, especially ahead of all the events that are planned? So we meet weekly with our police department. We talk about ways to improve traffic, parking. We do encourage people to take mass transit, tourists. We have two train stations. In close proximity, take the bus, take Uber. It's a small community. We have small streets. It's easier to take mass transit and enjoy your experience here. All right. Thank you so much, Anthony. Thanks for joining us. So the bottom line, you heard it there from Anthony. You want to come for the treats and the scare, but keep safety top of mind and be respectful of this area. For now, that's the latest from here in Sleepy Hollow. I'm Jake Robinson, News 12.
