Good morning, welcome to your Friday.
I'm meteorologist Cody Matz with a look at that forecast and, you know,
paying, honoring Sir Patrick Stewart with the Star Trek costume
and kind of what helped kickstart my love of science, both the Star
Trek Next Generation and Sir Patrick Stewart, Jean-Luc Picard itself.
Thank you to him and to my love of science.
Meanwhile, speaking of science, here you go.
There's the upper Midwest at the moment.
Showers rolling northward slowly across Iowa.
Those will hold off through the day today.
So we're quiet.
We're dry for the state for today.
But same cannot be said moving forward.
Now we'll see some of this moisture
roll northward out of the southern U.S.
and into the central plains getting into Halloween.
That will give us a little drizzle and pockets of mist.
But a much bigger storm system set for early next week.
That could be a solid soaker once we get past.
Past the weekend, as it rolls in from the eastern Pacific
and pushes the upper Midwest Monday and Tuesday of next week.
Let's get through Halloween first, though, and for your Friday as well,
as we'll see a smattering of clouds from time to time.
Overall, a bright day, not as full sun as what we saw yesterday,
but in and out of some clouds from time to time,
and we'll be dry and quiet.
We'll see some showers begin to push into southern Minnesota,
especially as we pass midnight tonight,
and that will take us through most of Saturday.
Now, a lot of this lifts lazily northward.
We could see a little pocket drizzle
or missed a few hundreds of an inch at
best in a lot of cases that will take
us through saturday afternoon. Some of
that will linger in some cases through
our trick or treat time frame. So
nothing heavy but just maybe damp overall kind
of have a spooky feel with
the cloud cover and maybe a little bit
of missed around that begins to dry up
as we get into sunday. We actually
should kick out some cloud cover sunday
afternoon southerly flow should lead
to warmer temperatures ahead of what
could be a soaker
Early next week for your Friday,
though more cloud cover the farther
South you go seeing that bright
conditions at times for most folks
will call it partly cloudy here in
the twin cities going for high of 56.
So shaving just a couple degrees
off of what we saw on Thursday
for your Friday night.
Quiet overall until after midnight
when some showers push across the
border into southern Minnesota may
scoot towards the metro by about
sunrise Saturday morning overnight.
Lows in the 40s and then just don't
do much with that on our Halloween itself.
But still above average temperatures kind of hold in those upper 40s
and low 50s as we head through the trick or treat time frame.
So honestly, a pretty decent feeling trick or treat,
despite the fact it may be a little damp in some cases.
Kick that out of here for your seven day forecast for your Sunday
with highs in the middle 60s as we set the clocks back an hour
and then a soaker set for early next week. Some rainfall Monday
and Tuesday as we're in the 60s until the middle part of next week.
