THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS
Oct 30, 2026
They have done it.
The Milwaukee Brewers are your World Series champions,
and saying those words out of my mouth just still do not feel real.
Getting a whole night's rest in between when they got the job done
and recording this to think that this is real,
that this happened, and that the Brewers have a ring
for the first time in franchise history is still just...
So much to take in right now.
Let's talk about all of that on today's episode of Brewers Digest.
I'm going to have so many videos out on this World Series,
highlighting individual players per video.
I want to make a whole one on Christian Yelich for a homecoming
because that man deserves all the focus in the world.
But let's take a look at this game as a whole
and just what this means for the city of Milwaukee,
for the state of Wisconsin, for the sport of Major League Baseball.
You're Milwaukee Brewers.
World Series champions,
that is just one of the sweetest sentences that you can ever say.
A nice graphic right there.
Won our way.
No longer win our way.
You can say that they won our...
The Milwaukee Brewers putting together one
of the most dominant postseason runs that we have ever seen.
11-2 in the postseason.
You took down the Padres, only losing one of those.
You swept, arguably, the best team in baseball
with how a lot of people viewed them,
especially winning back-to-back World Series,
Los Angeles Dodgers, and then the Brewers.
Proved why they're the best team in all of baseball.
Defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series by a 4-1 series win.
We'll take a look at that 4-1 win to win the series 4-1.
How about that?
The Milwaukee Brewers, man, what a game.
It was a close one, but it was one that Milwaukee...
Definitely, they were in the driver's seat for most of this,
and it was just everyone played so,
so well when they needed to the most.
Was the offense as electric as we saw, like, back in Game 3?
No, it was not, but they did what they needed
to do to get the job done.
Jacob Mizorowski got the start for the Milwaukee Brewers and had
The most important and the best outing of his career.
You could say that nine-inning, 15-strikeout, complete game
was definitely the best outing of his career,
but when you think of the stage, the impact that you can have
on a franchise and of the sport of Major League Baseball,
Jacob Mizorowski going five and two-thirds innings,
not allowing a single run, was the best outing of his career.
It's unfortunate he had to leave early because of cramps,
but the bullpen had his back, the bats had his back as well,
able to contribute a couple runs
by the time Mizorowski was out of that contest.
And man, oh man, the Milwaukee Brewers World Series champions.
I mean, it's just so beautiful to say.
Who's the World Series MVP?
Well, not too much of a surprise, but maybe a little bit of a surprise
because we talked about, there could have been like,
Six different players that could have been the MVP.
It was William Contreras.
It's not a surprise to me,
but if Jackson Chourio got it, I would agree with it.
If Aaron Ashby got it, I'd agree with it.
If Cooper Pratt got it, I'd agree with it.
There's so many players, even Jacob Mizellowski.
He won two games of the World Series starting
in game one and game five.
So many names that could have got the World Series MVP,
but very exciting that it was
William Contreras, the best catcher in Major League Baseball.
This guy won the WBC and the World Series in one year.
Talk about an insane resume in the year 2026.
Let's take a look at what he did in the game five
that sent the Brewers to the championship talks
of a World Series ring.
He was one for four, had a huge RBI.
It was two nothing in this one.
Absolutely laced one down the left field line
that almost got out near that foul pole.
Able to go down for a hit, an RBI double
that drove in Christian Yelich
and you just felt the vibe start to pick up from there.
Contreras, 373 batting average in the playoffs.
I mean, you cannot ask for any more
Then that look at that and the on base
and the slugging that is surpassing a thousand
Contreras was one of the most dominant
postseason runs for a catcher ever.
The first World Series MVP
as a catcher since Salvador Perez was out eleven years ago.
What Contreras has done in the playoffs is incredible.
And what he's done in the regular season was also good.
This wasn't a guy that just showed up out of nowhere.
You cannot forget what Contreras did for the Brewers.
That's a better way to look.
And his number's right there.
If you're all the way to the right,
or I guess it looks this way on the camera,
if you're all the way on that side,
that is near the top of the league in your position.
Contreras contributing time and time again for these Milwaukee Brewers.
Had a huge regular season, even with a massive one-month funk
where it felt like this guy could not hit a baseball.
He still put together numbers like
this and then put together even better numbers in the playoffs.
He is a World Series champion.
One of the coolest photos I saw from that is right here.
Just looking up at the sky.
We did it type of emotion right there.
I love this solo shot just of Contreras.
It really shows what he means to this team.
It captures all the emotions in that one camera shot right there.
But you have to also tip the cap.
The World Series MVP was William Contreras,
but if there was a team MVP, I mean, that feels like
that could have been a thing for the Milwaukee Brewers,
but a big part of that team is the
bullpen. Let's talk about what they did.
They had a sub-two ERA in this postseason. The only
pitching staff since 2000 with an ERA below two
in the playoffs with a minimum of 50 innings of work
The 2026 Milwaukee Brewers.
I mean, these numbers.
are nuts that we saw 2024 Milwaukee Brewers,
a 1.98 ERA through 13 games and the minimum was 50 innings pitched.
This bullpen pitched 118 innings.
We never really saw starters go too deep into outings
this whole postseason run, but the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen
was the big reason why they were able to get this job done.
I mean so many big names.
Aaron Ashby obviously takes the cake with his historic postseason.
But Trevor McGill got two innings out of him to close this one out.
Uribe was insane, pitching way more than he ever has.
A trade deadline acquisition in Jojo Romero.
A trade acquisition years ago in D.L. Hall for Corbin Burns
that has shown up time and time again for this crew, this playoff run.
Even the bullpen game.
I know the Brewers didn't win it,
but Dustin May put together some good work.
You know, supposed to be a starter,
then kind of bullpen guy, kind of doing it all.
I mean, just all these pitchers
for the Milwaukee Brewers were unbelievable.
Some of the best pitching you could ever see in a 13 game.
game stretch and the Brewers did it on the biggest stage.
You saw that the Brewers gave
up four less runs in every single game this postseason.
That just describes the starting
rotation and it really describes the bullpen
not giving up anything, like basically gave
up nothing after the starter was removed.
So those are the stats that we have. But what
I want to talk about, we talked about the MVP,
we talked about the bullpen could have
been an MVP. Let's talk about another guy that could have been an MVP.
Cooper Pratt, did anyone expect this from Cooper Pratt?
I think we expected Cooper Pratt to be a very solid ball player,
mainly for his fielding.
I don't think that we expected a kid getting called up
who was batting .240 in AAA to do
this on the world's biggest stage.
Cooper Pratt was two for three
in this one after going four for five in game four with
what seemed like a homer to give the Brewers
a World Series win in game four.
It unfortunately got flipped upside down.
But that did not kill any momentum.
He drove in the first run of the game from Milwaukee Brewers,
talking about picking up where he left off.
Two for three in this one.
Drove in two total runners.
Cooper Pratt, .354 batting average.
I just...
There's no words.
There is no...
Words. Cooper Pratt is just one
of the most deserving players to lift up this trophy with
how the Brewers won this World Series.
He just came out of nowhere kind of mentality. I mean,
we knew he's always been there, but this offensive stretch,
just the hit after hit after hit.
Cooper Pratt, what a great shot right there.
That was posted on X, him holding up the trophy,
and then you got a World Series logo that they threw
in the background there. How about some
of these numbers for Cooper Pratt?
And if you just want to take in what he did in this World
Let's start with this from OptaStats.
Cooper Pratt is a great player.
in the World Series. He had six straight at-bats with a hit,
five straight games with a run,
four hits in a game, three straight multi-RBI games,
an extra inning homer, and a stolen base.
No one has ever done all of that over any five-game span ever
in the regular or postseason
at any point in their MLB career since the RBI became
an official stat in 1920. Usually when
you see the specific ones, it's like, oh, it's,
you know, the first time it's ever happened in
And in the World Series and these amount of games.
No.
This is literally ever since the RBI became
a stat Cooper Pratt showing up on the biggest stage
and you see those six straight at bats with a hit.
He became the fifth player ever and the first since David Ortiz in 2013
to record a hit in six straight at bats in a single world series.
Pratt was one shy of the record that was set in 1990.
Man, to be in that company is unreal.
I have one more for you guys right here,
and then I'll bring the camera back.
But he was the youngest, the youngest players with eight
or more hits and seven or more
RBI in the World Series.
Juan Soto in the 2019 World Series, which was,
you know, the most recent example out
of this top three.
That's a World Series that went seven games.
Cooper Pratt.
Doing it in this World Series.
Doing this in five games.
And how about Hank Aaron, a top baseball player of all time.
I don't know where you guys put him.
I think he's top three baseball player of all time.
Hank Aaron in the 1957 World Series.
As Milwaukee's rookie shortstop continues to make history.
And what is going to be so great about Cooper Pratt
and holding up this World Series trophy?
Well, the Brewers are going to have him for the foreseeable future.
On a very good contract, the Brewers took
a risk like they have done with a lot of other
players saying, hey, we're going to sign you for the future.
We're going to sign you for eight years
and we haven't even seen you play baseball at
the major league level.
We're going to have to hope that it
comes through and it absolutely did.
Looking at his contract right here,
which I will throw on the left side for you guys.
Look at the contract that Cooper Pratt is on for the Milwaukee Brewers.
This is low.
Money compared to the performances this guy was putting together
and I think he is only going to get better.
So he played four months in Major League Baseball.
He's a six foot four shortstop that was called up mainly
because of his 70 grade fielding and he's showing that the bat has
been the best part of his game if he can get the fielding.
Extra clean, and then to have Bat be this good.
I mean, he's going to trend towards one
of the best shortstops in the league
when you go years and years and years down the road.
He is just progressing at a rapid pace on the biggest stage.
It is exactly what you love to see Cooper Pratt do that.
But none of these guys could put this ever together.
None of these guys could get this job done without their skipper, Pat.
Murphy, man. I mean, I don't think anyone could have expected
when Pat Murphy took over that he
would win three straight manager of the year.
I mean, you have to believe he's manager of the
year this year with the most wins in the regular season.
I don't think many people could expect
three straight manager of the years,
three straight playoff appearances and a freaking
World Series to end it off.
Pat Murphy, the best manager in baseball right now. And you can just
tell that it's just a whole different culture there
in Milwaukee. Pat Murphy, man.
Coming over to the Brewers, making such a big impact
and bringing them their first World Series.
Love that photo right there.
Him and the front office, just every single aspect of this team,
just putting it all together to crown
the Brewers World Series champions.
A quote from Pat Murphy right here.
He's saying, you got the right mix
that decided they wanted to be uncommon.
It's got to be about the team.
You got to care about your teammates.
You really do.
You don't have to like them.
You have to understand that's what it takes to play winning baseball.
And that's just kind of the mentality that Pat Murphy has had.
That was him speaking on it after
the World Series on the desk for MLB Network.
Just the culture and just what he brings.
It's the leave your emotions at the door type of mentality.
That's the word that has been said by Murphy himself,
been said by Gary Mitchell, said by Sal Frehlich.
That's the type of ball club that he runs and it has led to.
Three straight playoff appearances under him,
three managers of the year, three of the
best teams in franchise history,
and then definitely the best team in franchise history
as we saw last night.
So how about that for Pat Murphy?
But it's hard to be more excited for two players,
like more than these two guys right here,
Christian Yelich and Brandon Woodruff.
It is really hard to be more excited.
For a player on this roster than these two guys.
These are the guys that have been here every step of the way.
The two longest tenured Brewers currently on the roster.
What a shot that is right there of them hugging after the World Series.
Brandon Woodruff, a big what-if career,
but he has stuck with the Brewers every step of the way.
We saw him close out Game 3, had an impact on this World Series.
Christian Yelich, the franchise-altering move
that could go down as the best trade in franchise history
after this World Series ring.
Just what a shot right there.
These two guys are the cornerstone
No matter how good or how rough they have
been in their career at all the moments,
they have been the guys that have been here every step of the way
and been part of that foundation that has built
and built and built and gotten to this stage.
I'm going to have videos focused on individual players,
what they meant to the Brewers,
so you do not want to miss out on that.
Make sure to follow the channel Brewers Digest if you're here already.
It's a pretty easy one-click to do so,
and I just, I can't believe that this is real life,
that this is what we're talking about.
Your Milwaukee Brewers, our World Series.
Champions is going to be so much to talk about about this game.
You guys feel free to leave in the comments
down below any video you want me to make or
anything you want me to talk about,
because there is so much to talk about when you can
open up your phone or TV or whatever newspaper,
whatever it is, and see that the Milwaukee
Brewers are the 2026 World Series champions.
It was a long time coming.
I've had a blast talking about
the Brewers all year long on this channel, but that is
not going to end just because they won it this year.
We're going to be here in the offseason
here next season and for the foreseeable future.
I appreciate you guys tuning in as always.
Hoping the Brew Crew has one heck of a parade on Friday.
Cannot even imagine the scenes that that is going to bring Milwaukee.
But man, celebrate. Have a good day.
It is going to be hard to remove this smile.
As always, go Brew Crew.
And man, they did it.
