In today's Drone Zone Spooktacular,
we're flying over a million glowing lights at World
of Illumination's first ever Halloween Zombie Zoo in Tempe.
Friendly frights meet
musical ghosts and drone
pilot Brian Kay has more.
I'm Julia Olivas, the marketing manager with World of Illumination.
We are at the world's largest holiday drive-thru light show,
Zombie Zoo, presented by World of Illumination.
It's our first ever Halloween show, so people expect Christmas from us,
and this is our first time doing Halloween,
and we really wanted to extend the holiday season
by adding one more activation.
The Zombie Zoo is perfect for all ages.
There's no jump scares or anything like that.
It's super family-friendly,
so the little kids to the grandparents can all enjoy this show.
All of our shows, including Christmas, are all themed.
And Zombie Zoo is your favorite zoo animals and zoo habitats,
but with a spooky twist to them.
We have over a million lights,
and we have hundreds of cutouts of characters,
and they're all synced to Halloween music.
As you go through, there's different habitats.
There's a desert habitat, there's a bamboo structure,
there's a haunted forest,
and all the different little animals
that belong in those habitats along the way.
But the biggest, most exciting things are our tunnels.
So we have the Sonic Tunnel, which is the boo party tunnel.
And it's all these tiny ghosts.
And there's so much light, it just
is like a super immersive experience.
It's all synced to music.
And so as you're driving through it,
you'll see tons of different colors and variations of it.
It's almost a mile to drive through and it's kind of zigged
and zagged through this parking lot
and it takes about 30 minutes to drive through.
We really encourage people to
take their time and drive slow
so you can take it all in because there's
so much to see within the show and lots of hidden little characters.
So we don't want to rush. We want people to be comfortable,
enjoy the show, enjoy time with their families.
It's ticketed per car, and so it really is the more the merrier.
Like, grab your friends and your family and pack them all in,
get comfy, bring snacks and blankets.
It's a unique experience to some of the other fall events where it can
be expensive per person ticketing.
We're going to get in.
The candy zoo is open through November 1st,
and we really want this to extend the Halloween celebration.
So whether it's something you do after the pumpkin patch
and you're on your way home,
or something that you want to do after trick-or-treating
to kind of extend the Halloween celebration,
it's definitely something easy
to do that just tacks on the fun for everybody.
And on Halloween, we're going to be doing trick-or-treating,
so you can bring the kids through before you hit the neighborhoods
for trick-or-treating, get a little extra candy.
Yeah that looks like something the kids would definitely love.
