New at 6, a martial arts instructor in Surprise is under arrest,
accused of having a sexual relationship
with a teenage girl who attends the gym.
And police say there could be other possible victims.
Police took 30-year-old Jose Zamora into custody
on Wednesday on eight felony counts.
That includes sexual conduct with a minor.
Detectives say they received an anonymous tip
that he had been having sex with a 17-year-old girl.
And they say the two had been involved for the past three years.
And first started flirting on Instagram.
Police say the encounters happened inside Zamora's company van outside
the gym and in the parking lot of the girl's school.
And once in his car outside of her home.
A judge set bond at $150,000.
Obviously the allegations against you
and the ongoing sexual relationship.
The relationship.
With a minor that started when she was 14,
I consider that to be a danger to the safety
of that minor, as well as to the danger of the community as a whole.
Zamora works at Legendary Martial Arts in Surprise.
Police are asking anyone with information about
this case or other potential victims
to come forward.
In a statement to Fox 10, Legendary Martial Arts says.
Our first concern is for the student and family involved
and for every family who trusts us with
their children. When we learned of these allegations
on October 28th, we immediately
removed Mr. Zamora, a manager from our school.
We're cooperating fully with the Surprise Police
Department and we will continue
to give investigators anything they need. We are
also in the process of contacting our families directly
because they deserve to hear this from us first
